Also, I don't think the ending was rushed. I mean I guess it can be viewed that way, but Sky Stinger also learned very quickly that he wasn't a natural. The entire reason he wasn't even trying before was because he thought he was one. But when he learned that he really wasn't a natural, sure he lost confidence, but he also knew right away that it would mean that he'd have to put in the hard work. We sort of see him realize that before he was reintroduced to his friend or that Vapor Trail really was trying to help him instead of hurt him. It's not easy for most people to accept when their ego is shattered. Fact is, most would act more like Rainbowdash would way back with Mare-Do-Well, but I do know a few people who take blows to their own ego like Sky does. Mad at first, but would very quickly move on. I think it really helped that Sky knew Vapor since they were kids.
I like how they explained some of Dash's absences by the Wonderbolts and they actually show her returning home from them to demonstrate that they are actually a part of Dash's life. :3
This also seemed like a really good episode for Constructive Criticism. Twilight thinks it's better to tell someone what they did wrong so they can improve, but Rainbow and Vapor Trail don't want to crush his confidence. Wish they went a little deeper into it, but I'm glad we at least have something like this in the series.
Well maybe it was meant to not go deep into. It's like the Doc said: it's simple for kids to understand, but at the same time is complex enough for adults to figure this out as well.

To be fair, shy and cute characters have been quite appealing to many viewers, not only Fluttershy. But I felt like Vapor Trail still felt...different. She wasn't really lacking confidence, she just doesn't like getting attention. And when she got her chance to shine, she did use it to her best capabilities.
It sounded a lot different for me- they mentioned plenty of times that Vapor Trail lacks confidence (ex. when Dash said "that was the first time I've heard you say something good about yourself" [or words to that effect] when she said she was surprised Dash would train with her, or when she makes a cloud sculpture of Sky Stringer and then later on herself when she gains more confidence, etc.) She seems to lack confidence and not want attention, but she doesn't seem to be too SHY exactly. Much more soft spoken, but she seems more introverted rather than quiet. An interesting character I think with probably more depth than Fluttershy's character would suggest to be honest, since Fluttershy came off as THE personification of shyness.
This was a great episode, Twilight and Rainbow were the perfect choice to solve the problem, Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail were really great characters to watch, Angel Wings provided some of the funny moments along with the facial expressions and Rainbows "I was just there" moments and the conflict and moral were really relatable, sometimes I wanted to follow someone's lead but sometimes I want to step up to the challenge whilst supporting others along the way. If I had a little nitpick, Sky Stinger at first was a little annoying being the lazy, overconfident type. I give this 9/10 ^^
You've got to love those facial expressions especially the one from Twilight when Vapour Trail spills the beans. I can see that one becoming a meme once more people watch the episode--those who didn't want to watch it ahead of time that is. Also, the bwah bwah was highly appropriate whenever you used it.

I think this may be my favorite episode of season 6. I enjoyed how the story revolves around having a friend to help you better yourself and to be careful that the help doesn't become a crutch to constantly lean on.
"If all you do is Lean on a crutch your legs will get week" this week was basically a minefield but I do believe that the two could've handled it better. For one thing I think they should've asked spitfire for help. The trick was to ease them into it. also, please never use those nicknames again.

I've found Lily to have a very stark world view. If you are a jerk to someone YOU CAN BURN IN HELL! ! Makes me wonder why she watches a show where forgiveness is one of its major themes. That and she'll throw in some digs at the male ego keeping women down and blah blah blah blah.

I think they're trying to capitalize on the popularity of shrinking violets in this show. Fluttershy's synonymous with the "Moe" phenomenon for a lot of bronies, Coco Pommel was one of the most popular characters introduced in Season 4, and Marble Pie was once voted the most popular member of the Pie family according to an Equestria Daily poll, including Pinkie Pie. I guess the fanbase just can't get enough of cute, shy ponies with confidence issues.
It's kinda justified considering the situation these characters were in. Pegasi like Fluttershy, Vapor Trail and Angel Wing have to undergo who knows how long in lengthy and tough training and bullied as we've seen in flashbacks. It goes to show how many are pressured by living up to standards. Sci Twi herself also had this problem before and during the Friendship Games. Coco is also understandable due to Manehattan's if I had to describe in these words "Cage Match." Pinkie Pie's Sister, you know Pinkie Pie.
Pinkie Pie's _twin_ sister, no less. And taking the extraordinary pushy Limestone into the equation ... yeah, Marble growing up quietly avoiding attention is no surprise at all.
Don't forget Fluttershy's parents, incidentally. Is this to show that there are more like Fluttershy than we thought, or are the writers running out of character ideas? *YOU decide!*
Maybe the writers noticed that, difference in personality aside, most minor characters are similar to Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity or even Pinkie Pie, but no-one aside from the ponies ya mentioned here are similar to Fluttershy. So they're trying to reach out to the people who are shy or identify with shy characters better! ...I think.
I'm pretty sure that AngelWings is another Make-A-Wish Foundation Ponysona put into the show, like Stellar Eclipse. Everything about her design can be found and made in generalzoi's Pony Creators on deviantart. Not to say that it's a bad thing. But I'm sure putting her in the show was for someone who was sick.
This was a really great ep, and Twilight/RD remains my favorite paring, the two just play off each other so well. Beyond that, not a whole lot more to say, it was just a really well done, fun ep.

And now, thanks to the UK early airings of episodes 24-26, this caps off your weekly episode reviews for this year. Also, season 7 airs next spring probably around the same times of the last two premieres; and they'll be making three Equestria Girls "specials" instead of just one movie (still not quite an episodic series as I had been hoping but at least a step up from the previous one direct-to-TV movie per year plan.
I work in age and disability care. One of the hardest things to do is to determine when to help and more importantly, not to help. I am supposed to help the person to help themselves. The goal is that they improve, because if I do something that they can do then they will not only improve but likely go backwards. One day a person may need assistance to do up their own buttons and the next they can do it themselves. The day after they may not be able to do up their own buttons. Hopefully that person genuinely wants to be able to do it themselves and will keep on trying. What makes it harder is when someone can do it themselves but they don't want to do it because I can do it faster/stronger/better. One person uses his PS4 to send emails. I've seen him type out paragraphs using the controller but he wants me to do a search because I can do it many times faster. I refuse. He gets upset. In the end it becomes easier for me to give in and do something I know he can do himself. I can't think of a way to get him to try, let alone do something I know he can do.
Well, it seems that thanks to the UK, Season 6 is over now. We'll probably have to wait until February or April of 2017 for Season 7. As for the episode, I thought it was excellent. I really like seeing the return of the Wonderbolts Academy and I have to admit; the two new characters; Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail. At first, I thought their relationship was gonna a bit abusive when it's shown that Vapor was trying to help Sky. Though surprisingly, it turned out it wasn't and the explanation to why is believable. Also,Twilight's face when Vapor blurts out the truth wins the Diamond Tiara in 'Crusaders Of The Lost Mark' award for best meme face. X'D

This is definitely one of my favorite episodes this season. If not my absolute favorite. I've been waiting for a solid Rainbow Dash episode where we really see her qualities and her insight. Right at the beginning, with all her excitement and rushing to do things with her friends reminds us why Rainbow Dash is so great. Then, there was an amazing, top quality back and forth between her and T.Sparks where she's not being sarcastic or petulant. Finally, we get a chance to see her admit that she was wrong even when Twilight said she was right. This episode made me love Rainbow Dash and on top of that offered me three amazing new characters. I actually disagree with you about Angel Wings, I feel like she isn't exactly the shy, quiet Fluttershy type. I feel like she represents all the talented and capable people out there that aren't overwhelmingly obsessed with their own success. It seems like she is a good flyer because that's why she's here at all. However, she is just more chill and likes commenting and fangirling. I feel like there is a higher chance that someone like her is in my life than any other character in MLP and I appreciate it. So much love for this episode!
I think a better way to fix it, would have been to train them separately but put Sky in harsh conditions where his air flip was naturally far harder to do, and get him to work hard in order to master it in those conditions. Then when he went back to doing his regular air flipping, it would be easy for him. He wouldn't ever need to find out about Vapor helping him and he would have learnt how he needs to work hard in order to achieve something.
One thing I liked about the episode was that despite the way he came off, Sky Stinger, still cared for Vapor Trail and really wanted her to be a Wonderbolt with him. For people/ponies with Sky Stinger's personality, this is usually a rarity. They don't usually have a problem continuing an activity or profession without the other one despite it all. I think that might be part of the reason they were able to get a quick resolution and it didn't come off as too bad. I also kind of felt like if it was explained to him he would come to an understanding eventually at least, but not usually in the time of one 22 minute episode.
So, Sky is Iceman, Vapor is Maverick (after the loss of Goose), and Rainbow is Viper. I wonder who Twilight would be in all of this? Maybe Jester? Either way, they should have found a way to sneak "Danger Zone" into it.
When watching this episode the philosophy of "The Experience Machine" came to mind. That you could plug in to a machine where everything that happens is pleasurable and never painful. An eternity of happiness. If they had gone down dashes route, Sky would be in his very own experience machine, living with maximum pleasure unless he find out the truth. While twilights methodology is that knowledge, friendship, and better alternative are more important than pleasure. As a world of infinite pleasure is a world of ignorance to pain. You can't have the good without the bad and every light casts a shadow. Has anyone else noticed this? I might be on to something.
Angel Wings is the OC of a girl that wanted her OC to be part of the MLP:FiM cannon and was achieved thanks to Make A Wish, much like Stellar Eclipse back in 'Trade Ya'' back in season 4
At first, I thought the friendship problem was going to involve Spitfire. Considering how the map led them to the academy. When you think about it, that would make a lot of sense. Imagine an old fillihood friend of Spitfire's just entering the academy for training. He/She thinks it will be easy, considering his/her old pal is running things. But when the friend sees her strict behavior. It could make things VERY hard for the friend. Not only could Twily and Rainbow show this friend that Spitfire being strict on duty is not to be taken personally. But they could also teach Spitfire when to ease up a bit, on or off the field
This episode made me realise something. When There is a Wonderbolt episode, it's always an episode where Twilight and Rainbow Dash interract. Even since the very firt episode in season 1. I like this consitancy. Twi and Dash with a conflict about the wonderbolt is a good dynamic.
Ok, Infantry OSUT story here that actually ties into this pretty well. So early on in our cycle (just 12 days in) we got two prior service Marines, who have 18x contracts, placed in our platoon. Up until that point we were working to take responsibility for what did and failed to do. But unfortunately many people took advantage of our situation whereas we should have gone to them for advice and put it in to motion ourselves, very few of us did so and really fucked things up for the rest of us during the cycle. In the end majority of us unfucked our shit and ultimately got honor platoon during inspection. Those who want to do well and make it in the Army continued working well and the shitbags went back to shitbagging. So pretty much we helped one another where we could and sought help where we needed and really turned shit around. One of the best experiences you never want to do again.

I think Angel Wings is a strange name for a pegasus, considering that, in fowls, angel wings is a minor genetic disorder that makes the wings and flight feathers grow oddly.
I've heard that angel wings is an oc voiced by its actual creator. She made part of another project from make a wish foundation like stellar eclipse some time ago.
Thinking outside of this episode a bit here. But we did see a Pegasus help another with their flight issues and by the end he was flying all on his own. Maybe Dash could apply these teaching skills to help a certain Filly and help her fly like she dreams of doing?
Vapor Trail is modest, yet she's also very driven for what she wants in life. Angel Wing looks up to other ponies to use as her role models. Fluttershy is very quiet, but she's gone through all kinds of character development, like learning to put your foot (hoof) down, and learning to speak up when you need to. (She's often learned these several times...) Coco Pommel works extremely hard behind the scenes, and never demands any credit for it - only the satisfaction of seeing her work pay off. Marble Pie is apparently terrified of almost every other pony (for admittedly unspecified reasons), with the exceptions of her family, and the Apples from Ponyville. "Soft-spoken and timid characters who seemingly lack confidence" are a bit more two-dimensional than you may think, and they don't have a defining personality type - only a particular behavioral trait.
Now the that I think about this not only reminded me of Testing Testing 123 and Wonderbolts Academy and Znewbie Dashie maybe I should give this aleast a honorable mention if I do and Top 10 season 6 episodes
Sky stinger and Vapor trail my brain started the ship right away. To the point I almost expected Vapor to sneak a kiss when they landed after the split screen flight.
Don't know if you found this out later or not, Doc, but Angel Wings is an O.C. put into the episode courtesy of The Make A Wish Foundation, just like Stellar Eclipse from "Trade Ya!". Also, I really feel like Sky Stinger doesn't deserve Vapor Trail's friendship when he kept exploiting it, and everyone kept expecting him to notice what he may have been choosing to ignore. Sometimes, some people just don't learn, no matter how hard you might try.
YES, someone else pointed out how Vapor sounds like Assistant Mayor Bellweather! Also, when Rainbow told Vapor that this was the first time she had heard her say something good about herself, it struck me deeply and I do find myself relating to Vapor in that regard. Third, the comedy was solid
I enjoyed this episode. It didn't seem like a stand out episode with major character development but I enjoyed the new characters a lot and found them all very likable as well as the characterisation of Twilight and Rainbow here. Also we really did see Twilight and Rainbow working as a team and working through their disagreements fairly quickly without it becoming yet again part of the plot where a member or members of the Mane 6 just look foolish while dealing with a problem which tends to be a trend in these map episodes.
i feel a bit guilty for watching these episodes early, but i couldnt help it, this episode was great, my favorite Map episode, loved Vapor Trail and Angel Wings, great review Doc!
To be fair about the increase in shy characters, in recent seasons Fluttershy doesn't necessarily seem to play that role much anymore. She's still quiet and kind, but we've seen more and more of Negative!Fluttershy, Sass!Fluttershy, and Deadpan!Fluttershy. It's now more her being introverted rather than truly scared or shy of anything (ex. she deals with her fear of going out on Nightmare Night).
Actually there is a big confirmation I found within this episode potentially. I think they just confirmed that high schools exist here. in the middle of the episode. before Vapor Trail retires to the locker room early. She and Sky Stinger have a short conversation where she mentions he was "voted best flyer in Stratosburg" and she was "voted best sneeze". This sounds an awful lot like how High Schools graduating classes always vote for traits that relate to their fellow classmates. (most likely to succeed, most likely to own a business. most likely to have large family, etc) It's not much. but could be a major clue hinting at Equestrian education system including high schools. Maybe it's something to go into greater detail over in the future
um, the episode was okay, but what really got my attention was in Sky Stinger's and Vapor Trail's flashback, did anyone else notice the one foal had a colorization that looked surprisingly familiar to a another certain pegasus in Wonderbolt Academy? Maybe that's just a coincidence
this was a fun episode , i honestly like it , and for once i find that that moral was something important. im mostly a history and chacters over morals , i dont care if the moral seems rush if the rest seems well put together and coegesive...but i just love this episode
I think these sky stinger and vapor trail make a good team when T-sparkles and Dashanator help. It was nice of vapor trail was was trying to support sky stinger. and I think there is going to be shipping between these 2. (until I notie sky vapor trail I thought there was a shipping between dash and sky stinger.) When I first saw angel wing I thought she looked familiar like based on someone else not in the show. what ever it is I think she funny the way she just said to sky stinger and vapor trail that their her new favorites. XD

I guess the fanbase just can't get enough of cute, shy ponies with confidence issues.
It's kinda justified considering the situation these characters were in.
Pegasi like Fluttershy, Vapor Trail and Angel Wing have to undergo who knows how long in lengthy and tough training and bullied as we've seen in flashbacks. It goes to show how many are pressured by living up to standards. Sci Twi herself also had this problem before and during the Friendship Games.
Coco is also understandable due to Manehattan's if I had to describe in these words "Cage Match."

Maybe the writers noticed that, difference in personality aside, most minor characters are similar to Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity or even Pinkie Pie, but no-one aside from the ponies ya mentioned here are similar to Fluttershy. So they're trying to reach out to the people who are shy or identify with shy characters better! ...I think.
I really enjoyed having such a new likable male character. I feel like they really nailed Sky Stinger in making him feel likable and believable.

I'm pretty sure that AngelWings is another Make-A-Wish Foundation Ponysona put into the show, like Stellar Eclipse. Everything about her design can be found and made in generalzoi's Pony Creators on deviantart.
Not to say that it's a bad thing. But I'm sure putting her in the show was for someone who was sick.

This was a really great ep, and Twilight/RD remains my favorite paring, the two just play off each other so well.
Beyond that, not a whole lot more to say, it was just a really well done, fun ep.

And now, thanks to the UK early airings of episodes 24-26, this caps off your weekly episode reviews for this year. Also, season 7 airs next spring probably around the same times of the last two premieres; and they'll be making three Equestria Girls "specials" instead of just one movie (still not quite an episodic series as I had been hoping but at least a step up from the previous one direct-to-TV movie per year plan.
I work in age and disability care. One of the hardest things to do is to determine when to help and more importantly, not to help. I am supposed to help the person to help themselves. The goal is that they improve, because if I do something that they can do then they will not only improve but likely go backwards.
One day a person may need assistance to do up their own buttons and the next they can do it themselves. The day after they may not be able to do up their own buttons. Hopefully that person genuinely wants to be able to do it themselves and will keep on trying.
What makes it harder is when someone can do it themselves but they don't want to do it because I can do it faster/stronger/better. One person uses his PS4 to send emails. I've seen him type out paragraphs using the controller but he wants me to do a search because I can do it many times faster. I refuse. He gets upset. In the end it becomes easier for me to give in and do something I know he can do himself. I can't think of a way to get him to try, let alone do something I know he can do.

Well, it seems that thanks to the UK, Season 6 is over now. We'll probably have to wait until February or April of 2017 for Season 7.
As for the episode, I thought it was excellent. I really like seeing the return of the Wonderbolts Academy and I have to admit; the two new characters; Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail. At first, I thought their relationship was gonna a bit abusive when it's shown that Vapor was trying to help Sky. Though surprisingly, it turned out it wasn't and the explanation to why is believable.
Also,Twilight's face when Vapor blurts out the truth wins the Diamond Tiara in 'Crusaders Of The Lost Mark' award for best meme face. X'D
March, actually.

This is definitely one of my favorite episodes this season. If not my absolute favorite. I've been waiting for a solid Rainbow Dash episode where we really see her qualities and her insight. Right at the beginning, with all her excitement and rushing to do things with her friends reminds us why Rainbow Dash is so great. Then, there was an amazing, top quality back and forth between her and T.Sparks where she's not being sarcastic or petulant. Finally, we get a chance to see her admit that she was wrong even when Twilight said she was right. This episode made me love Rainbow Dash and on top of that offered me three amazing new characters.
I actually disagree with you about Angel Wings, I feel like she isn't exactly the shy, quiet Fluttershy type. I feel like she represents all the talented and capable people out there that aren't overwhelmingly obsessed with their own success. It seems like she is a good flyer because that's why she's here at all. However, she is just more chill and likes commenting and fangirling. I feel like there is a higher chance that someone like her is in my life than any other character in MLP and I appreciate it.

I think a better way to fix it, would have been to train them separately but put Sky in harsh conditions where his air flip was naturally far harder to do, and get him to work hard in order to master it in those conditions. Then when he went back to doing his regular air flipping, it would be easy for him. He wouldn't ever need to find out about Vapor helping him and he would have learnt how he needs to work hard in order to achieve something.
Dragonfly Dreams episode would have to be a 2 part then.
If I hear T-Sparks and the Dashinator one more time, I'm gonna flip ALL of my shit.
Terminator-Sparks
One thing I liked about the episode was that despite the way he came off, Sky Stinger, still cared for Vapor Trail and really wanted her to be a Wonderbolt with him. For people/ponies with Sky Stinger's personality, this is usually a rarity. They don't usually have a problem continuing an activity or profession without the other one despite it all. I think that might be part of the reason they were able to get a quick resolution and it didn't come off as too bad. I also kind of felt like if it was explained to him he would come to an understanding eventually at least, but not usually in the time of one 22 minute episode.
So, Sky is Iceman, Vapor is Maverick (after the loss of Goose), and Rainbow is Viper. I wonder who Twilight would be in all of this? Maybe Jester? Either way, they should have found a way to sneak "Danger Zone" into it.

When watching this episode the philosophy of "The Experience Machine" came to mind. That you could plug in to a machine where everything that happens is pleasurable and never painful. An eternity of happiness. If they had gone down dashes route, Sky would be in his very own experience machine, living with maximum pleasure unless he find out the truth. While twilights methodology is that knowledge, friendship, and better alternative are more important than pleasure. As a world of infinite pleasure is a world of ignorance to pain. You can't have the good without the bad and every light casts a shadow.
Has anyone else noticed this? I might be on to something.
Angel Wings is the OC of a girl that wanted her OC to be part of the MLP:FiM cannon and was achieved thanks to Make A Wish, much like Stellar Eclipse back in 'Trade Ya'' back in season 4
Also, kudos to drwolf for pulling out this burden of episode watching in the morning, script writhing at lunch and recording at home.
Dr. Wolf Angel Wings was actually a tribute to a young for the Make A Wish Foundation charity. Like the Wheel chair pony featured in. "Trade Ya!".
At first, I thought the friendship problem was going to involve Spitfire. Considering how the map led them to the academy.
When you think about it, that would make a lot of sense.
Imagine an old fillihood friend of Spitfire's just entering the academy for training. He/She thinks it will be easy, considering his/her old pal is running things.
But when the friend sees her strict behavior. It could make things VERY hard for the friend.
Not only could Twily and Rainbow show this friend that Spitfire being strict on duty is not to be taken personally. But they could also teach Spitfire when to ease up a bit, on or off the field
I don't know if anyone noticed, but in the flashback, I saw what looked like an infant Lighting Dust playing with her family.

This episode made me realise something. When There is a Wonderbolt episode, it's always an episode where Twilight and Rainbow Dash interract. Even since the very firt episode in season 1.
I like this consitancy. Twi and Dash with a conflict about the wonderbolt is a good dynamic.
Ok, Infantry OSUT story here that actually ties into this pretty well. So early on in our cycle (just 12 days in) we got two prior service Marines, who have 18x contracts, placed in our platoon. Up until that point we were working to take responsibility for what did and failed to do. But unfortunately many people took advantage of our situation whereas we should have gone to them for advice and put it in to motion ourselves, very few of us did so and really fucked things up for the rest of us during the cycle. In the end majority of us unfucked our shit and ultimately got honor platoon during inspection. Those who want to do well and make it in the Army continued working well and the shitbags went back to shitbagging. So pretty much we helped one another where we could and sought help where we needed and really turned shit around. One of the best experiences you never want to do again.

I think Angel Wings is a strange name for a pegasus, considering that, in fowls, angel wings is a minor genetic disorder that makes the wings and flight feathers grow oddly.
I've heard that angel wings is an oc voiced by its actual creator. She made part of another project from make a wish foundation like stellar eclipse some time ago.
The Halls of the Brony Fandom now have a new ship to spaz relentlessly over.
Thinking outside of this episode a bit here. But we did see a Pegasus help another with their flight issues and by the end he was flying all on his own. Maybe Dash could apply these teaching skills to help a certain Filly and help her fly like she dreams of doing?
Vapor Trail is modest, yet she's also very driven for what she wants in life.
Angel Wing looks up to other ponies to use as her role models.
Fluttershy is very quiet, but she's gone through all kinds of character development, like learning to put your foot (hoof) down, and learning to speak up when you need to. (She's often learned these several times...)
Coco Pommel works extremely hard behind the scenes, and never demands any credit for it - only the satisfaction of seeing her work pay off.
Marble Pie is apparently terrified of almost every other pony (for admittedly unspecified reasons), with the exceptions of her family, and the Apples from Ponyville.
"Soft-spoken and timid characters who seemingly lack confidence" are a bit more two-dimensional than you may think, and they don't have a defining personality type - only a particular behavioral trait.
Now the that I think about this not only reminded me of Testing Testing 123 and Wonderbolts Academy and Znewbie Dashie maybe I should give this aleast a honorable mention if I do and Top 10 season 6 episodes
I see one sided love mixes with happy relationship ending with wedding bells
Sky stinger and Vapor trail my brain started the ship right away. To the point I almost expected Vapor to sneak a kiss when they landed after the split screen flight.
Don't know if you found this out later or not, Doc, but Angel Wings is an O.C. put into the episode courtesy of The Make A Wish Foundation, just like Stellar Eclipse from "Trade Ya!". Also, I really feel like Sky Stinger doesn't deserve Vapor Trail's friendship when he kept exploiting it, and everyone kept expecting him to notice what he may have been choosing to ignore. Sometimes, some people just don't learn, no matter how hard you might try.
YES, someone else pointed out how Vapor sounds like Assistant Mayor Bellweather! Also, when Rainbow told Vapor that this was the first time she had heard her say something good about herself, it struck me deeply and I do find myself relating to Vapor in that regard. Third, the comedy was solid

I enjoyed this episode. It didn't seem like a stand out episode with major character development but I enjoyed the new characters a lot and found them all very likable as well as the characterisation of Twilight and Rainbow here. Also we really did see Twilight and Rainbow working as a team and working through their disagreements fairly quickly without it becoming yet again part of the plot where a member or members of the Mane 6 just look foolish while dealing with a problem which tends to be a trend in these map episodes.
i feel a bit guilty for watching these episodes early, but i couldnt help it, this episode was great, my favorite Map episode, loved Vapor Trail and Angel Wings,

To be fair about the increase in shy characters, in recent seasons Fluttershy doesn't necessarily seem to play that role much anymore. She's still quiet and kind, but we've seen more and more of Negative!Fluttershy, Sass!Fluttershy, and Deadpan!Fluttershy. It's now more her being introverted rather than truly scared or shy of anything (ex. she deals with her fear of going out on Nightmare Night).
I have a feeling that sky stinger and Vapor trail are going to be shipped after this episode

I think they just confirmed that high schools exist here.
in the middle of the episode. before Vapor Trail retires to the locker room early. She and Sky Stinger have a short conversation where she mentions he was "voted best flyer in Stratosburg" and she was "voted best sneeze". This sounds an awful lot like how High Schools graduating classes always vote for traits that relate to their fellow classmates. (most likely to succeed, most likely to own a business. most likely to have large family, etc)
It's not much. but could be a major clue hinting at Equestrian education system including high schools.

um, the episode was okay, but what really got my attention was in Sky Stinger's and Vapor Trail's flashback, did anyone else notice the one foal had a colorization that looked surprisingly familiar to a another certain pegasus in Wonderbolt Academy? Maybe that's just a coincidence
this was a fun episode and I could not see how the conflict was going to be resolved which is better than the episode being too predictable

this was a fun episode , i honestly like it , and for once i find that that moral was something important.
im mostly a history and chacters over morals , i dont care if the moral seems rush if the rest seems well put together and coegesive...but i just love this episode
I think these sky stinger and vapor trail make a good team when T-sparkles and Dashanator help. It was nice of vapor trail was was trying to support sky stinger. and I think there is going to be shipping between these 2. (until I notie sky vapor trail I thought there was a shipping between dash and sky stinger.) When I first saw angel wing I thought she looked familiar like based on someone else not in the show. what ever it is I think she funny the way she just said to sky stinger and vapor trail that their her new favorites. XD
