    Duuuuuude. This makes me so happy. Seriously, I love the way it all happened. Thanks for taking a look at it, my friend. .... and duly noted on the XL version. No plans, but surely noted.

      @Ben Banters i am a huge fan of yours i got something in my eye and teared up the day you left bhq. I ordered this and inspired a close friend of mine to order one as well. I got a mouse pad as well. Keep up the great work. If your ever in Chicago hit me up.

      Absolutely nothing good to say about the "We Banter" especially with the price point for what material/lock/blade/pocket clip they use. But I've been using knives and making some knives longer than many youtubers and commenters have been on earth. So just my 2 cents from multiple multiple decades on the scene.

    I just purchased my first WE Banter and I have to say that it is one of the best edc knives that I own!
    In my opinion, it is very close to absolute perfection! It has everything I look for in an edc.
    Ben, you hit this one out of the park! I am sure that this one will be the one I carry the most, without a doubt!

    I had the same reaction all along. I thought it looked blocky, utilitarian, and boring. I said there was no way I wanted one. I was in SMKW last week and specifically went to find it. First thought upon holding it was the same. But aster fiddling with it for a while, I fell in love. The ergos are surprisingly great and the action is as well. I was very impressed and walked out with one. Wanted black, but they were out so I got blue. Has been in my pocket for a week. My review will come soon. Great review sir.

    To me it appears to look like a larger much nicer Crkt squid. Similar design concepts to me. I can’t wait to get my hands on this knife. It will for sure be my new edc. Ben you did a great job.

    I really like the blackout version, and it sold out very fast. It's just come back into stock and I jumped on it. I like a knife in this size range (like a Mini Grip.)

    That's great that you were able to get in a Banter launch box. Really great presentation. I was on the fence with this one glad the original Blade HQ run sold out.

    Good review. Had the same thoughts as you had. Ordered and received the Benblue, and I love it !!!! And I am a real knife guy. But here in The Netherlands a pocketknife has to be anonimous because the people here are knifefobic as hell. If it's more than a Vic they're scared. I'll order the black Banter to. Ben did a great job for me !!

    It does have a sort of ancient, primitive design, like something found at an archeological dig... which I kinda like.

    It’s ok and would probably be a good EDC if I didn’t have so many that were just a bit better. Anybody who gets a chance to do this is lucky and I’m a bit tempted to buy one. I haven’t tried a WE but think they’re great for what they are.

    Hi how is the black coating? I really like the look but really hate most that scratch easily and don’t wear well? It hard to tell in your video if those are wear and scratches or lighting and finger prints? Please let me know? I appreciate it!!!

    • @KnifeThoughts
      @KnifeThoughts  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, I should have talked about that. It’s a good coating. It looks to be stonewashed, which will help hide wear, but it basically didn’t show any wear that I noticed.

    • @spechtacular1
      @spechtacular1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jessebergunder I can order a 12 inch piece of S35VN with the blade Thicknes and height of blade for $15.98 from newjerseysteelbarron(dot)com. From that 12 inch piece I'd get 2 of these blades out of it. Basically one blade would cost me $7.99. There is no way in hell to justify the price on this knife.

    Seems both ironic and hypocritical that you would be so dismissive of the "stubbiness" of this knife considering the size and shape of your hands.

      @KnifeThoughts  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get what you’re saying. I thought in the video I got the point across that despite its stubbiness, even with my wide chubby hands, it’s surprisingly ergonomic in practical use.

    • @grizzlycountry1030
      @grizzlycountry1030 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xmarine11 sure for one there is no way to justify the price point as far as material goes. For example I can order a 12 inch piece of S35VN with the blade thicknes and height of blade for $15.98 from newjerseysteelbarron(dot)com. From that 12 inch piece I'd get 2 of these blades out of it. Basically one blade would cost me $7.99. It's a liner lock which is one of the simplest and cheapest not to mention weakest locks produce. Due to the simple design there is minimal milling work. The blade shape also limits its purposes that someone should use this for.

      @@grizzlycountry1030 in advance .... please forgive my grammar, I am an old tired Grunt.
      I appreciate your reply, and I do follow the logic but do you have any idea what it takes to mass produce an item/ widgets? Sure you can get an S35VN on the cheap ... Then you have to shape it right ? what shape? do you have plans? or did this shape magically manifest itself in your mind? How about the tools to mold or shape and sharpen this divine blade? How about the mats for the scales and how were they produced and on what machinery? how about the spacers, ceramic bearings, etc... I am skipping a few steps here ... but now make thousands and make them within fairly tight tolerances. Now mass market these knives with a nice carry case, stickers and cleaning cloth in a custom box shipped to America. Then get dealers to carry said item and to promote said item to customers. That is only part of the process now the Item has to pass acceptance to a fairly hard group of people to please.
      Full Disclosure ... I do not know Ben Peterson @Ben Banters
      nor do I work in the Knife industry ... I served in the Marines 03 now I am a computer tech. I can only imagine after years of handling tens of thousands of knives, he designed a knife by taking the best parts of others and personal preference and designed this knife. For its purpose and price point... I happen to think this knife is ALMOST perfect. My only hit would be that its not made in America.
