I play snare for the Cleveland browns drumline and while I have had the chance to play in London during the 2017 NFL season, this would be a dream come true for me to play at the super bowl. I’m happy you got to experience that and share your story with us 😁
Yeah, Eric was really off on his prediction ... But so were so many! The Old Guy and his team did a great job! It didn't suck for me, but for those who really dislike Brady, I'm sure they were disappointed.
EMC, I love your videos!!! I’m buddies with TRAVIS DUBBERLY who was on the line with you for the Jets/Giants!!! But I might be the bearer of bad news…So, I was on the Jaguars D-Line in 2004 and we might have been the 1st Super Bowl Drumline in 2005 (Eagles/Patriots in Jacksonville). We kind of had the same experience. We played a bunch of gigs all week, preformed with Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson. Although, we DID NOT get any Super Bowl gear 😔 we were scheduled to play in the stadium during breaks, but like you, they cut us and basically had us track around the inside of the stadium playing cadences. It was still an awesome experience to perform with those music artists and getting paid to go to the Super Bowl in my own hometown!!! PS: I marched snare at Teal Sound and in its earlier years, the Jaguars D-Line was mostly corps vets (Teal Sound, Magic, Spirit, 7th Regiment, as well as FSU Big8)!
Fun fact: Every single person in my family was rooting for broncos, and I said "No. The Seahawks are winning." I never changed at any point during the game. But off that first safety, then the TD, they just all looked at me. 43 to 8, best football game i ever have seen

I know at the super bowl in ATL they got some people from Equinox Percussion and at Super Bowl Minneapolis they got the University of Minnesota Drumline
Fun fact. I was there with the Seahawks Drumline (team that was actually in the SB🤣). 9 of us traveled and performed for 3 days in NYC before the game. It was...interesting... to have y'all play what ya did at the game to say the least. 🤷♂️
hahahahah! I remember this Super Bowl so clearly because a bunch of us got together at my neighbor's house to watch the Seahawks beat the Broncos. We had Skittles to eat every time Lynch made a carry and jello shots for every touchdown. By halftime I felt like puking so. Damn. Hard. No wonder I didn't notice you in the drumline! 🤣🤮

Ive worked the halftime show, and its generally more targeted toward broadcast and people watching on TV.. They couldn't care less about the in-house when 99% of the people watching are doing so through TV.

When my Dad was in the Marines, he worked security at a Superbowl. I don't know which one. It was the 80's and I wasn't born yet.
I “performed” at Super Bowl XXI at the Rose Bowl. We dressed as toy soldiers. All the music was pre recorded.
why do corps drummers look so uncomfortable when hitting cymbals on a drum set?
As a child, one is yelled at for hitting cymbals too loud, expensive and such. As an adult the trauma is irreconcilable.
