So this whole concert was just shown in IMAX theaters around the world for a weekend in January. It was simply amazing to see. I went three times in 3 days. If you ever get the opportunity to see it, you must do it. For you young Queen fans who never got the opportunity to see them live, it is incredible ❤
This song is somewhere between rock and funk, that bassline is solid. Brian May wrote this one and John Deacon said it was his favorite song to perform live. Everybody is smashing it on this song.
You’re right about this song ! - it’s a bass-n-drum driven groove that had its roots in a Jam Session among the bandmates while they were having a recording session in Munich, Germany. They liked partying at a club there called The Sugar Shack , and their producer at the Musicland Studios was Rheinhold Mack ( “take me back to the Shack” and “it’s gotta be Mack” both made it into the lyrics) . Guitarist Brian May gets the songwriting credits on this one because he organized the jam session snippets of ideas into song form, and he wrote the lyrics - but in truth, one could say the whole band “wrote” it together. Bassist John Deacon said that it was his favorite song to play live - he got to funk out on that bass line (he was strongly influenced my Motown/Tamla , funk and R&B in his personal music tastes). This song also shows off how bassist John + drummer Roger Taylor really locked and loaded into the pocket, holding down a rock-solid basis for Freddie and Brian to build upon and fly !
Thanks, HBK - this entire concert was recently released in IMAX... but so far, the release is so "limited" I haven't been able to find it anywhere near me... I hope you can.. I suppose I will have wait for a wider release... appreciate your appreciation... (p.s. the WHOLE band.. not just Freddie.. check out Deaky on that bass.. and of course, Brian on guitar.. oh, wait.. Roger on drums...!)
This song was formed at a jamming session in the studio following a few bottles of wine ,they were very relaxed 🙃 . This was John's favourite song to perform x
Excellent reaction this song is absolutely a killer jam gets to be every time. They are so diverse. Listen to I want it all, under pressure wembley, who wants to live forever at Wembley, and one vision at Wembley. I saw it at the IMAX in Baton Rouge - it was almost like being there in person! Their best performance, next to Live Aid
Who else but Freddie could instruct a crowd of thousands to “do it to the beat” and they all comply? John Deacon’s funky bass really drives this.

I'm gonna build a time machine and go back to 1980 ....Who wants to come along? There's a good chance that I won't be returning! 🌈💙👑
This is all about the band. Watching Jihn just getting down with his great bass playing. It's a sensory overload .

The studio version of this song is on a whole other level.
You did a great singalong!! Love our young Queen fans...who get it❤
Johns bass and Rogers drum is pushing the beat. This tune is about all of them working together.
Super man Freddie ❤ thanks

Well, not really ALL of us - I’m a John “Deaky” Deacon kind of gal, as my username attests. That all-blue outfit is HOT on him.
@@imweakfordeaky Yes, Disco Deaky is ADORABLE (and in the 70s, his long hair was GORGEOUS)
Please turnpyput volume
Please react to Mike Tyson savage moments 🙏
