What impresses me more than his fishing and knowledge of biology are Jeremy's people skills. I don't know how many languages he learned for his show, but dude was multilingual and jumped at the chance to meet and get to know people all around the world. Aspirational, honestly.
I wish they made a show called saltwater monsters where Jeremy would go after huge sharks, and other killer saltwater fish like marlin and tuna. I guess they kinda did this with season 8 but would have been cool for that to be an entirely new show after river monsters ended
That would be awesome but supposedly it was almost a miracle that they were even able to finish this show cuz of all the planning / logistics they had to do made it extremely difficult to pull off. If I remember right they almost stopped after season 1 but the show was too popular to just end it there and luckily for us they didn’t lol

No way in hell I'm going in the Nile River with a man-made flimsy raft with giant crocodiles and there's hundreds of them maybe thousands and hippos. Like you're begging to be killed at that point.
It's so funny that the bear just kept chilling around them even after the warning shot. He's like what the hell man I'm just trying to chill with you guys 😂
That is not a "chilling" bear, that's a hungry bear that's seeing something that could satiate its hunger, so be it the fish they're capturing, or them in particular.
this show used to be one whenever i was my dads. It was always so intresting and i ended up loving it more than i realized. It was so comforting and i loved the way he just talked to and about these different cultures. Plus the stories were always so interesting
Coastal brown bears are no joke. You do not fish with them unless you are well armed. 😅 They aren't normally aggressive if you give them space and respect. But they're always capable of defending their food source.
He isnt playing, carrying a .50 cal. But those bears get absolutely huge. Coastal brown bears that eat salmon get so big. Up to 1,700 lbs which is insane. Theyre like tanks with teeth and claws.

He is fluent in English and Portuguese, and knows parts of 12 other languages. Probably enough to get by in those countries. Very smart guy as well as good role model.
