+ASIT CICI Hello, I speak Japanese and would recommend that you take some sort of formal class. If you are aiming to speak, books won't really help you. You may want to find some sort of language partner on a site like interpals. Listening and practicing speaking Japanese will help you gain fluency. Books will primarily help with reading and writing. Here is to life-long learning.
1000 years later... Recent studies from the world renowned Fake University say that one does not learn from buying books. The secret behind learning is actually studying with them.
He could be a secret Italian agent in Poland cause he speaks it without any accent and he didn't make any mistakes, which i've never heard before from a foreigner (I'm Polish). He really must speak it very often to be so perfectly fluent in it.
There where things that weren't native if you only pay attention ;) The ą in "motywacją" sounded French not Polish (no Pole would ever say it like that), he stressed the wrong syllable in "musiałem". Also, his soft consonants (ś, ć, dź, ź) weren't right.
I have never seen a foreigner speak Polish so well, I mean it. I was amazed when I heard his pronunciation, vocab and grammar, all of which were flawless. I'm shocked

He can speak my language :) At 7:26 he was unable to speak Icelandic, so he answered in Swedish: "Kan du prata isländska?" "Jag pratar inte isländska, men jag kan prata slovenska" "tyvärr" "Du pratar mycket bra" That is correct Swedish grammar and good pronunciation. You should have had a Swedish speaking person there.
Ahh, so he was speaking Swedish. I was confused by his mention of Slovak at that moment, but I think he probably wanted to say Svenska and misspoke. He wanted to have an Icelandic-Swedish bilingual conversation.
As much as these things are cool, every 'polyglot speaks X languages' video is the same - they just talk about how and why they learn the languages they speak. What would really test their language skills is if they were asked to answer random questions and think on the spot - such as, tell us about your first day at school, if you had a million dollars what would you do, who would win a fight between an eagle and a buffalo and why. I think they'd become unstuck or if they didn't become unstuck, then I'd be truly impressed. But I fear they'd be caught out.
So you think Luca is like that? Lol. You obviously haven't checked out all his other videos then. He literally lives most of his languages.(he's a language coach) His native language is Italian yet most of his TH-cam videos are mainly in English. And I've watched him in a couple of interviews speaking fluent english. Honestly when I found his channel first, I didn't know he wasn't a native English speaker.
This is extremely motivating. Hoping to lock down Spanish and Mandarin soon and hearing that he was able to kick off his language learning with books is very encouraging. I'd love to hear which books or line of books he uses if there are any in particular that lay things out well and whatnot. Thanks for posting this!

And by going to some (or most) of the countries. Even though conversation and understanding is the essence of language, learning and mastering the grammar of a language helps greatly.
I agree with you. Do you think the fact that more people seem to speak Hungarian instead is a little poke at Finish? Lol, I'm just kidding. I completely second your opinion.
They learn Hungarian because it's considered to be more difficult than Finnish I believe. But yeah, it would be interesting to hear him learn and speak Finnish :)

I know grammar shouldn't be the focus but i definitely agree with him, it is much easier for me to learn a language if i know the structure and I feel more confident that way. This guy is very relateable as a language learner.
Aufgeschlossen you are correct! Its a false myth. Chinese grammer is quite simple. Tones are tricky and it takes some patience to learn the writing but overall, its very doable.
I'd like to say that I'm also one of the people who have been learning languages. I am from Tajikistan (a small country in Central Asia). I'm proud that there are the people in the world who learn languages, because I myself have been learning the languages too (I mean I started learning English in 1998 and German in 2009). I'd like to learn Spanish too because I love it as much as I do German. As for the people who spoke to Emanuele Marini, I recognized some of them: Amir Ordabayev and a young man who spoke Persian (Farsi), I think it was Tim Doner.
Sweet leaping Celestia... This guy is amazing. His command of polish is almost unbelievable. Most foreigners, even those living in poland for 20+ years, never achieve anything comparable to what I've just seen. Hats off.
No it is not, come on, he said a few sentences and made mistakes in basically every single one of them, I never bash a student, but this dude is suppossed to be an expert. He can't conjugate the verb "ser", the most essential verb in most languages, he coud not say "I went" correctly, would people say you speak great english if you could not say "I went"?
@@mjeffbr I agree that he needs improving but as he said he speaks "um pouco". Great that he could understand what was being said and formulated his own phrases but he needs improving, yes, to be able to say he knows Portuguese.

His German accent is also very good. Thanks! This Polyglot idea changed my life so much. Language is simply a key to soooo many things. It pushed me to an extend İ couldnt dream of before. And just by the way İ even learnt to love my native language German, which I didnt before.
he speaks serbian like he was born there, really, fluently. his "L" pronounciation could improved a little bit.
amazing guy, switching between all those languages have to be highly difficult, however his polish is not that perfect as many here claim, it is still very, very good
I am totally impressed
Hi Luca! It is so inspiring to see this Milanese gentleman speaking so many languages! I cannot wait following his example.
Emanuele is the man!
Fuaaa q locura haber visto a esos hombres hablar tantos idiomas, fue genial... Em, I know a little English so I can not believe how these amazing guys speak those languages so well.
Son unos grosos!
Emanuelle a very talente hyperpoliglot soeaking. In 16 languages that is wonderful !!! I am trilled to recognized another ITALIAN besides LUCA & EMANUELLE THE GREAT ALBERTO WHO'S ALSO A YOU TUBER & along with his GRANDMOTHER LA NONNA MAKE A WONDERFUL TEAM ALBERTO BACK THEN IN 2013 WAS "MOLTO GIOVANE" UN RAGAZZO very young , a young boy... Thanks for showing this historic video LUCA & RICHARD WERE ALSO YOUNG 8 YRS AGO !!!
I give him credit though :)
E sei anni dopo Emanuele parla pure in egiziano antico e nettuniano. Congratulazioni.
Holy shit. He's learned that from language books?
And by going to some (or most) of the countries. Even though conversation and understanding is the essence of language, learning and mastering the grammar of a language helps greatly.
Eternal Solitude Its the fact that he just said "books" and its obviously not easy to learn from books alone.
I would love to hear some of all these polyglots speak Finnish!
Omg I’m Icelandic 😭 I love hearing people talk Icelandic who aren’t natives 😊
It seems it is hard to learn
@@obedysaiasrivasgonzalez950 it is, even for us haha
Is there any simility with any other language?
@@obedysaiasrivasgonzalez950 yes, many north European languages, especially Norwegian and Faroese
Apparently the bird is also a polyglot because it wouldn't shut the fuck up.
i can speak french, chti, spanish, slovenian, english perfectly, and russian and polish (but people till laugh when i speak in these 2 last languages)
"Passion can lead to extraordinary results".
Assolutamente. Vi stimo tantissimo. Complimenti!
la torre de babel.
Jajaja. La torre de babel encarnada!
If everybody in the world was a polyglot, we would see less discrimination, bigotry and racism.
Odlican srpski! Bravo
I know grammar shouldn't be the focus but i definitely agree with him, it is much easier for me to learn a language if i know the structure and I feel more confident that way. This guy is very relateable as a language learner.
“If you know many languages then you have many keys for a castle.” ― François-Marie Arouet
Anyone in need of more keys? Anyone?
Emanuelle, you are a true genius and a an inspiration and motivation for the world!
Who said Chinese is the toughest? As for east asians who understand Kanji, it's one of the easiest!
Aufgeschlossen you are correct! Its a false myth. Chinese grammer is quite simple. Tones are tricky and it takes some patience to learn the writing but overall, its very doable.
@@TheFiestyhick "some practice" .. well .. no... tons of practise!
Amazing polyglot. I miss only the presence of more Asian languages.
Sweet leaping Celestia... This guy is amazing. His command of polish is almost unbelievable. Most foreigners, even those living in poland for 20+ years, never achieve anything comparable to what I've just seen. Hats off.
His Portuguese is good. There is a litlle accent from Portugal and Brazil together. But is excellent!
Wow- but that must be stressful to have to switch so quickly....for him. I bet like Luca says, he can refresh a language in a few days if he's in the country, but he may stumble if it' s a bit rusty at first. Pretty amazing.
Amazing!!! However one thing I've noticed, is that there aren't many female polyglots Why is this so popular with men and not women?
+Jon Commons Lol!
@Phriiquency lmao show us the data for that bitch ass boy
I noticed it too! May be a lot of reasons! A get together with plenty of polyglot women would help many girls and women to feel inspired!
What an amazing person! And it is so nice to see Amir, he is a great guy :)
His Polish is amazing :O
He has a lot of friends in a lot of different countries!
I never seen a person who has this much narrow frame
I'm loving this video!! I'm suprised an amazed, and this makes me want to learn more and more!! Thank you Luca!!
amazing serbian!! and all the other languages! :)
