- The Cleveland Bay is the oldest native warmblood breed in the United Kingdom with a history of more than 600 years. The breed was almost wiped out during the Second World War due to its versatility as a carriage and workhorse. Henry Edmunds of Cholderton Estate has made it his mission to save the endangered breed

I bred a registered half bred CB -she was a dream horse ,evented ,drove as a single and double (including pulling a sleigh in winter ),dressage, Fox hunted ,and trail horse . Wonderful disposition and character -versatile and kind -lived to be 32 .
You are a lucky person to have had such a spirit in your life! 32 years!
I have a 16yo Cleveland Bay x Percheron, and I would love to have him to 32. We fox chase a bit (he was a legendary staff horse until he stepped down from that level of physical demand), and mainly just have a lovely time on some relatively challenging (definitely not groomed) trails in the state park. He is a machine in the hunt field, and super sure-footed with a good brain.
Absolutely wonderful breed of horse, wonderful multi-purpose horse and fine looking animals along with it. Its wonderful to see this endangered breed being so treasured as they should be, wonderful video🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴

Henry is a fountain of knowledge and could listen to him for hours talking about his family’s love for the breed. All the farm hands at cholderton! so pleased everything is going well at cholderton!! So lovely to see!! Congratulations jack you have my dream job and doing a great job!!
Cleveland’s are such a special breed couldn’t imagine life without them.

I am planning on selling my Cleveland Mare. She is beautiful , well tempered and moves beautifully. Very athletic. She is by the amazing Tregoyd William and out of my mare Lady Vanity Fair, a registered Cleveland/Thoroughbred cross. Lady Vanity Fair is by Wheelgates Lord Charles.
Fun fact- the Breyer Cleveland Bay is Tregoyd Jorneyman, and her "Uncle". Brother of her Sire.
I have never commented on a TH-cam post nor have I ever had a Cleveland Bay video on my feed. So I felt the need to comment, but I'm not sure exactly why. I respect the people in this video for their love for this phenomenal, dying breed. My mares babies will be eligible to be registered as purebred Cleveland Bays. That's ultimately why I'm letting her go, to help continue producing these incredible horses.

Cleavland bays certainly have such an iconic look to them!
Doing a genealogy project I found an ancestor (brother to my 3rd great-grandmother) who raised Cleveland Bays in the 2nd half of the 19th century in Indiana. Happy to find a great video on them and learn more about them!

I love the Cleveland Bay. I have some friends who had a pair that they used for marathons. They were a wonderful pair.

Hi ALL, Cleveland bays are so eligent, at the ridding school there was an ex-dressage hores . AND that WAS a Cleveland bay ,he was used for lessons for the more experienced rides .Take care and all the best. 😊😊😊👍👍👍👍

Cleveland Bays here in the US have dwindled quite a bit. Nice horses.
Cleveland bays are amazing horses, I only have a part Cleveland left but they are easily the best horses I've ever had. They give you everything if you give them the stability and security to know they can rely on you, too.
Cleveland Bays were also used on the continent to improve other breeds there.
