- This week, host Basant Kumar is joined by independent journalist Rahul Singh.
Rahul talks about his report on the shortcomings of the public distribution system in Jharkhand. He says despite the online mechanism, food security is poor in rural areas, and instead of helping, the system “is emerging as a hurdle” for the Adivasis.
Basant reported on people falsely named as beneficiaries of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in a report by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, which also claimed their farm incomes doubled in 2022. He shares how he found out the factual errors in the government body’s book.

*Upma was served in a breakfast every morning in a hostel with a capacity of 100 people. Out of those 100 people, 80 people used to complain every day that different items should be made instead of upma.*
*But, the other 20 people were happy to eat upma. The remaining 80 people wanted to cook something other than upma.*
*The hostel warden voting method was proposed as some decision had to be reached in this chaotic situation.
According to this, whichever tiffin gets the most votes, that tiffin will be cooked that day.*
*20 students who wanted Upma cast their vote accurately. The remaining 80 people cast their vote as follows.*
18 - Masala Dosa
16 - Aloo Parotta & Dahi
14 - Roti & Subg
12 - Bread & Butter
10 - Noodles
10 - Idli Sambar
So, as per the voting results, Upma gets the highest number of votes, and again the same is served every day.
*Lesson:* As long as 80% of the population is selfish, divided and scattered, 20% will rule us.

The Prime Minister should revisit his words from his campaign in Nanded on March 30, 2014, when he launched a ferocious attack on Mr. Ashok Chavan - now the latest labaarthi of the #BJPWashingMachine Yojana. The PM declared Chavan an “Adarsh candidate,” and said that “the Congress is shameless” for having given him a ticket while he was under investigation. Modi announced that he would send Ashok Chavan to jail “within six months” if he became PM. A decade later, Chavan is not in jail, continues to be under investigation, and is a Rajya Sabha MP from the BJP. Does PM Modi hold the BJP to be “shameless” as well ? Will he conspire to get Mr. Chavan a clean chit soon ? Will he deliver on his promise to put the BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Chavan in jail ?
