Thanks for affirming this tip. I’ve been overloading my head lately with countless ‘things they never tell you.’ My first ever lesson was built on this mantra - and saying it out loud.
I love getting the golf swing to simple basics, I way over think it, and I don`t always follow through the shot. This year back and forth, and swing through the ball, I think I will have much more consistency, our golf league starts tomorrow, can`t wait to take this approach for now on, swing through the ball, I am a 12 handicap and only play once a week, 60 years old now too. Love the tips you share with us, we thank you sir.
Great video! I hurt my shoulder last year and couldn’t swing with my normal extension and violent action. Instead I used a very simple rotate back and forth and played the best golf of my life. This video really hit home. 😊
Great video. Something I have been working on for a while. Now I’m breaking 90 most of the time. I’ve focused more recently on pressing my upper arms into my chest, and this has actually relaxed my forearms for a more relaxed back and forth swing! Hitting straighter with less duffs!!
Excellent presentation. Just what I needed to hear. Played my first round after a long layoff due to injuries and played horribly! I expected to not play well but found myself overthinking everything I did on the course. I will definitely be “simplifying “ next time out. Back and forth will be my focus. Thanks for the insight.
Yes!!! This year I have sworn off all of golf over-analysis-paralysis....no more thinking about "positions". Amazing how it clears the mind to focus on the swing movement...slinging the club back and forth. I do a forward and back motion as my pre-shot routine to set the feeling before the real swing. My game is improving because of this.
There’s a great video of Ben Hogan on the Ed Sullivan Show. He tells the viewer- ‘just swing the club back and forth, back and forth while keeping the upper arms connected to the torso’
Like your vids. If every, “secret,” technique espoused actually worked, we’d shoot 18 on every course. I’m a 1-year veteran golfer. I’m sure low-handicap players benefit from subtle hints. I’m trying to build a repeatable swing. This helps.
You rock, Alex. Smooth brush-stroking the canvas deliberately through. Yep, got it✔️ I have been awesome ever since i do the natural body swing up and down, back and forth. It has been phenomenal, improvements in my ball speed, and solid contact. Simple-easy golf is a miracle. Thank you so much, ALEX! I over practice and got trigger fingers on the left ring finger. I am trying to heal but losing patience. Am I at risk at damaging my finger permanently?
i love your simple approach i like many other golfers have a perfect practice swing but as soon as i go to hit the ball i get really fast and very flat got any simple drills for this
Hi Alex. Great video! Do you have the path/tunnel set up pointing at target then inside on the throughswing, or do you have it coming from inside on the downswing and at target on the throughswing?
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf thanks Alex. Will give this a try...I've been laying one club down pointing right of target to help with hitting from slightly inside, never thought about using a 2nd club to guide my exit left though!!!
Sorry for not seeing this earlier.! Don’t stress about the minutia. Have a few swings and begin to see what path you are swinging on. But yes 15 deg is pretty good area to start.
I'll try this. I get the impression that a lot of us hh golfers have a picture in our head of the path of the club being an arc which straightens out in line with the target, rather than finishing properly.? This is prob part of my problem as I know I picture the ball strike as "hitting straight to the front" which I think affects my hip turn. Thanks
That's it: hitting a ball with a club should be as easy as throwing a ball, it's just that you have to get the feeling for the length of the club. Find your own natural movement, you'll never win a major but play with fun and certainly with less stress on your body.

I will keep this in mind, love keeping it simple these days since my back and balance aren’t what they used to be! Used to paint apartments which lugging 80 pound bags of plaster up stairs probably contributed to my back, so I completely relate to the paint brush!

Glad it resonated and hope the shoulder is doing better

I should follow this advice. I watch way too many TH-cam channels and videos lol
Excellent to hear. Well done and keep at it!

Excellent swing concept. What trigger do you recommend to actually start the club back ? Thanks
Feet usually

Yes exactly. We need small things that make big improvements

Focus on a count of 1-2-3 or similar.
Your explanation makes me so confident 👍 and with this confidence I go on the range and that works beautifully 👍
Great to hear! 🏌️♂️🏌️♂️👍
Great video as always! Really helpful as I get ready to start golf season again.
Hope you’ve stuck with it and it’s been helping 🏌️♂️👍
Beautiful analogies. I like the paint brush one, because I'm a painter, so from now on, the course is my canvas.
Wonderful. Get creative and let us know how it’s gone 👍🏌️♂️
Hi Alex. Great video! Do you have the path/tunnel set up pointing at target then inside on the throughswing, or do you have it coming from inside on the downswing and at target on the throughswing?
It’s an arc so slightly inside to out and back around through
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf thanks Alex. Will give this a try...I've been laying one club down pointing right of target to help with hitting from slightly inside, never thought about using a 2nd club to guide my exit left though!!!
What a simple words but very very effective in game -. Back and forth - Amazing👏👏👍
Glad you liked it and hope it’s helping 👍🏌️♂️
Great video Alex. Is there any specifics to building the "hitting zone" tunnel concept using aim sticks? Looks like maybe 15 degree angles?

U had me at "Zorro"😂

Simple and easy tips

Well said. 🏌️♂️👍
When I swing I occasionally think of a random word while taking back. Removes the conscious brain from the swing, this feels similar!
That works :) 🏌️♂️💪

Painting is rough work. I sympathize with your back 😔
Well let’s make this panting a little easier ;) 💪🏌️♂️
🤦🏻♂️🏌️♂️
Simpler is better. Let’s see how this plays out.
That’s the goal:)

Thanks and don’t use all tips at once lol 😂 💪🏆🏌️♂️
