This was made in 2017 the remake was in 2019
The lost sound clip "Welcome to..." was actually supposed to be for an unfinished Robot Egad called Egad 2000. It looked like Egad but with really grey metal and yellow eyes, and it stood with it's small fat feet with circle hands on the ground, kinda like Brow Boy from FNAF world. It was supposed to help you get to higher places, but it was scrapped because of too many bugs and it caused the game to crash so it was baned. It was supposed to say "Welcome to..." but glitch out and break and Egad was supposed to say "Crummy, it looks like my beautiful creation as broke!" It would've been kinda cool to use. The rest of the sentence is: Welcome to the mansion!". Pretty cool.

I'm kind of glad they got rid of that first sound effect that was like a ghost shriek. That was legitimately horrifying. I was scared enough of this game as kid and that probably would've left a permanent scar.
I know Elh was unused and has no textured, but that's officially the scariest thing in Luigi's Mansion. Followed by the creepy Luigi zombie thing.

The Daisy image is likely a placeholder image that they used for content they ended up cutting before mid-development. It is likely that she was supposed to be the victim originally, but Nintendo switched it over to Mario. Probably because he's far more well-known than Daisy.

There was supposedly going to be a cut Portrait Ghost of a hunter who when you read his heart said that he would cut Luigis head off and mount it on his wall. He was going to be fought in the Safari Room though no image of him has ever been found. Nintendo Power did mention it in either issue 152, 153, or 154.

I first played this game in 2004 or so I was about 6, I remember being scared of the first boss Chauncey. .-.
I remember after you trigger the rocking horse and the baby would start crawling t'words you, I remember I couldn't figure out what to do I pulled out my game boy horror and then he was crawling at me in 1st person, I then turned off my cube, turned on the lights and locked myself in the bathroom o.o

Oh my god, I JUST put this together after obsessing over Elh for a day and then rewatching this: you're saying that creepy monster screech at 2:40 could have been intended for Elh? Holy fucking shit, if you attached that sound to that model, that would scar any child for life, and probably some adults, too. O.O

The daisy cropped image texture, if you see the file name, it says "Test" soo, the texture is only a test for developers

I think the "Welcome to" was maybe used for the first cutscenes and there would be a broken speaker box playing that audio. So it would supposed be saying "Welcome to your Mansion"

I'm guessing the "Welcome to" sound would be played when Luigi first walked into the mansion, what I mean is that a broken record could be playing when he opens the door playing that noise.

So, I think I know what’s going on here (I watched this part in 0.25% speed) basically, the first thing to start moving is the mirror, during teleportation, the other side probably becomes it’s own room because the real room doesn’t rotate, and then Luigi starts spinning to really teleport, when he is spinning, for a split second there is a black void, almost as if to load the destination, when it is loaded, Luigi is teleported there, that’s what I think at least
Edit:Luigi isn’t teleported to a void, he’s teleported to the foyer, just before any textures are loaded.

Me too, a remake as the game was originally intended. Obnoxious difficulty and all related scrapped mechanics, scarier ghosts, scarier sounds, scarier atmosphere, bigger, darker, M-rated for scare factor and difficulty. And of course Elh, ideally still with no textures because there not being any for it makes it that much scarier. Yes please! I'd buy a new console just to play that!

The models are likely placed there to be used for references in the code later on, it's common for a lot of games to add models used for things such as animations in cutscenes, one off items used in a particular area, etc. It's especially common in older early 2000 games. For example in ratchet and clank when you talk to the info bots the expanding screen that suddenly appears actually already exists but it's incredibly small and floating inside of it's head. When activating the action the model scales to hundreds of times it's size, instead of just generating right then and there.

Jump scares become alot less scary after the first encounter, Luigi's Mansion is always creepy.
