  • Learn how to make your own LIFE SIZE Witch cauldron from scratch using a versa ball!!! This cauldron is big! We'll also teach you how to build a massive firepit with smoldering skeleton bones, wood, and glowing embers. FYI - In the video I somehow made the mistake of giving the wrong ratio amounts for the paper mache. The correct amount was 1 to 1 ratio. So I used 3 cups of water and 3 cups of flour. And made that as much as I needed it for the cauldron.
    Materials:
    CAULDRON
1 - Large Versa-ball approximately the size you would like your cauldron to be (for the pot)

2 - 3.5” Black foam noodles (for the rim)

1 - Large bag of flour (for the paper- mâché)
Newspaper or other type of paper (for the paper- mâché)
    Water (for the paper- mâché)
2 - Foam rings. Usually sold at craft stores like Michaels (for the handles)

1 - 8.5x11 flexible foam sheets. Usually sold at craft stores like Michaels (for the handles ) WonderFoam

1 - Minwax Polyacrylic clear coat Minwax Polycrylic Clear Satin Water-Based Polyurethane (1-Quart) in the Sealers department at Lowes.com
Black Matte Spray Paint (1 st coat)
Black and white matte paint (sample sizes, you won’t need a ton)
Copper, gold or silver rub-n-buff. We used gold and a little silver. (order online or at your local craft store) Antique Gold Rub'n Buff | Hobby Lobby | 1415
Sand (we mined some from our yard)
1 - round plastic shallow tray a little smaller than the cauldron opening (custom to your size). We got
one at homedepot in the garden center. This piece needs to be water-tight.
3 - ultra-sonic water foggers with lights Amazon.com : AGPTEK Aluminum Mist Maker Water Fountain

    Kitchen
    FIRE PIT
1 - Hard square or round surface to build the firepit on. Use a size that makes sense for your project. We used a large piece of wood wall paneling, but you can use some thin plywood or something similar. The thicker the board, the heavier the firepit prop will be--so keep that in mind.
Several cans of expanding spray foam. (for the coals and to hold the firepit together) We went through
7 cans, try to estimate based on the size of your firepit.
1 - strand of orange glowing/pulsing lights - they don’t necessarily need to pulse, but it makes for some fun effects. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08...
2-3 bags of skeleton bones, depending on how many bones you want in your fire. Lowes usually sells a bag of bones around Halloween. www.lowes.com/pd/Holiday-Livi...
Random wood pieces, small logs, sticks, etc. Add a good variety of different wood pieces to give the fire depth. We went outside and found a bunch under some old trees.
Matte Black Spray Paint - You might need a few cans to cover all the nooks and crannies in this thing.
Same black and white paint from the cauldron (you’ll mix them in varying amounts to make the charred
    wood and bones really pop)
We hope you enjoyed this video. Check out some of our other tutorials. Happy Halloween.
