haha idk if you sorted out the doubt but in case you didnt : basically when the male and female gametes undergo fusion they form a single diploid cell or the zygote. the zygote undergoes cell division and differentiation to form a mass of cells called the embryo, which eventually develops into the mature organism. so yeah zygote comes first hehe!!
