I am Taiwanese but living in LA. Gareth shall explore Taiwan and stay more days in the future. Taiwan is a food heaven and also lots of beautiful places to visit.
Omg! I love this video 😍, honestly, I miss Taiwan. I worked 5 years in Taiwan and Taiwanese are very kind. Food are good and beautiful places to see. Enjoy your every travel and keep safe. 🙏
Welcome to my hometown Taipei Taiwan! I live in USA and haven't been back for years. I miss Taiwan so much, especially delicious food and people. I found your channel via the Egypt trip channel this month. I will visit Egypt next week. If I see you still in Egypt, I will remember to say Hi 👋 to you.
Awesome man, thanks for sharing. I cant wait to visit (and eat) in Taiwan, I've heard lots of good things about the food there; looks like you hit the nail on the head!
Hi Gareth, will be haing a 8.5 hour layover in Taipei soon. What can you recommend to do? Is it a need to get a local guide to make it easier and swifter in going to places?
Your reaction to the food was fun to watch. Yeah you need to go back and hit a night market. Taiwan is a foodie paradise with lots of nice people. Get an Easy card at a 7-11 and use it for the bus and MRT which are very easy to navigate and English friendly.
Thank you so much for sharing! I'm traveling in March to the Philippines and will have a 9 hour layover in Taiwan and then will have a 7 hour layover during my returning flight. I'm kind of nervous. Any suggestions/recommendations?
Cool little layover video Gareth. I've been to Taipei back in 2007 and it's a fun city. You should definitely spend more than 10 hours there. Looking forward to your Japan videos. I'm fairly new to your channel, but have enjoyed watching your videos. I actually found your channel by accident when I you did that video awhile ago with Mark Wiens, who is my favorite travel video vlogger.
I recommend taking the direct airport train, just 1 or 2 floors down from the arrival hall. 35min to Taipei. Goes to Taipei 101, but didn't go to Ding Tai Fong. That is a bit of a miss. :D Though I would recommend going to the original shop location in East Gate area of Taipei - the shop that die hard purist swears by. I also recommend the Aquatic Addiction (in the Taipei Fish market). Do a comparison between the Japanese seafood you can get in Taiwan vs. Japanese seafood in Japan.
This looks like the (chain) restaurant where they had breakfast: goo.gl/maps/q1boVB2VtZrS442t7 Soup dumplings place might be this one (also a chain restaurant but not every location serves full menu): goo.gl/maps/x8cm4AgAPtYPGAYD9 These are my best guesses, I am going by the logo and decor.
There is many of these restaurant in Taipei 101. Most of these restaurants are located in I think the 2-4 or 5 floor or Taipei 101. That is also where the mall is. In the basement of the building is the food court. That is where you can get all the fast foods and some local bakeries and dessert places. I was a long time since I went to taipei, so things may have changed.
haven't been back to Taiwan for 3 years now, by watching this video, it just making me miss more of my beautiful country Taiwan.
I enjoyed watching all your videos

- I am watching this video as I sit in Vietnam about ready to go eat the local food, also. Local food rocks!
Edges Of Earth I have never been to Vietnam, but I know I would love the food scene there! And Soup dumplings might be my new favorite food.
I’m watching your vlogs from oldest to newest 🙌

I really enjoyed my time there when I went to Taipai. Easily one of my favourite cities. It would have been more interesting if I spoke Chinese.

It would be nice if you could share 🙈
Can you tell me the name of the place you went to go have breakfast? And the place you had dumplings? Thank you!

Hi, Gareth, I'd like to ask you how to get the nice local guide? Thanks for the info
She actually isn't a guide, just my friend 😊
What's the name of the food court place you ordered foods from? I'll be in taipei soon and want to try it out. Thanks a lot.
yes i would like to know this info also as I will be there also in a few days.

You missed out on the Din Tai Fung next to the food court in 101. Much better than the US branches.
What's the name of this restaurant where they off the egg crepe pancake?
**warning do not watch if hungry** ... 10:10 lol
Taipei é uma cidade muito atraente.
It's supposed to be ginger w vinegar no?
5:30 - 5:33 I'm pretty sure I heard Japanese and Korean in those 3 seconds.
Yeah, there're many tourists from Korea and Japan in Taiwan. The tour guide really did his homework by learning their language.
Depois de comer esse salgadinho de alho, não da para beijar durante um mês!! hahaha
I can't believe you dont have more subscribers ... i'll be back
Andy Zhang thank you so much Andy!
who needs tv and top vid

Kudos!! did it feel weird in that elevator?
