So glad it went well. In May I had the same surgery but also my colon removed and my stoma had to be relocated to the left. I know you’re in pain. If it is too bad, or the meds are not lasting long enough, advocate for a pca pain pump. Then you push a button and get small doses every15- 20ish minutes. That was a game changer for me!!!Wishing for a speedy recovery! ❤ You’ve got this girl!! Lots of people thinking of you!
I also had my rectum removed in may. Yes! That pain pump was a lifesaver! So much more comfortable! Take baby steps, it's very easy to overdo it. I was in hospital for 1 week. My recommendation is to not rush to go home, even though you may want to as the hospital stay will really help you along. By the time you go home, the worst will be over. There will still be pain, so please don't forget to go slow. Walking is good, but only do as much as your body will allow without too much pain. We are all here for you kayla! Merry Xmas too🎉
Oh my gosh, Kayla! They had you walk immediately after surgery? You are so strong, you amaze me. I continue praying for you. I have ten more days until my surgery at UCSF. Loop Ostomy pulled back inside and closed, new end stoma on the left of my belly, and 80 percent of my colon removed. You have helped me so much throughout my journey with this since three years ago. Your attitude is always positive. In this event you have given me strength. I understand that the Barbie Butt surgery is quite a feat. But every day you will heal more and more. I can’t wait until you are home with your beautiful baby girl! Merry Christmas! 🎄
Yeah it was definitely a LOT to walk right after surgery! I’ll be thinking of you during your surgery coming up!! Thank you so much! That is exactly why I started sharing my experience so that we can all go through these tough times together! 💪🏼
So glad it went well! That orchid is edible, and they taste ok, so try it if you get another one on your plate. Kind of an exotic treat! Wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery, and NO MORE PAIN!
Kayla, I’m sending you virtual hugs!! I messaged you on Instagram a couple of months ago, I had my surgery the day before yours! (mine was robotic surgery with the stitches on the inside…very different pain levels) I’m watching you and seeing how strong you are is really inspiring. I’ve been watching all your videos & updates. I’m praying you have a speedy recovery!! You are a rock star!!
@@carlygains1640 oh yes!! How are you doing? Did they send you home already? I wish I had stitches in the inside!! Thank you. Yesterday (post op day 3) was really hard and I was expecting to go home today, but I’m still on IV pain meds so I’m not sure that will happen today. Which is okay! Hope you are doing well !!
Your doing really well it's big surgery don't be too hard on yourself sending my prayers out to you🙏🏻🙏🏻 i've been there it's painful but worth it in the end Take care ❤❤xx
It’s definitely a painful surgery, but the end result is worth it!! You will feel like a new woman. I sure do. I had my surgery Jan 6th of this year. I am so glad I did it. ❤❤❤❤
Glad your surgery went well yeah my throat was sore for a few days and they cut my lip but now it’s healing nicely. I had some complications after my surgery but I pray you don’t have any complications during your recovery
@@elissaarbelo4905 bummer that they cut your lip! Was it when they took the breathing tube out? It’s so dry in here that my lips are cracking even with chapstick eek awe man I’m sorry you had to deal with complications!
@ yes I believe when they were taking out the breathing thing it cut my lip. Then two days after the surgeries hysterectomy & Proctomy were done my left hand got swollen after one of the IVs infiltrated on my skin. I used hot packs and cold packs that got the swelling down. That happened on Friday the 13th Then my surgeon was thinking of sending me home one day but he saw my hemoglobin was low at 5: 00 am it was at a 7 by 3 pm it went to 6 I needed to doses of blood so I had to do a blood transfusion on Saturday December 14, Then the last thing that happened to me in the hospital was an infection was found in my blood on Monday December 16th I had to drink contrast to do a CT scan thank goodness nothing bad was found. Today I dressed up as Grinch when I went to see my surgeon I even gave him a thank you card. He said that he’s glad he did my surgery because in the area of the rectum and anus it was very diseased. Now he said I won’t need a colonoscopy for the rest of my life. On Christmas Day it will be my 2nd week of recovery. By the way Meery Christmas 🎄 Next month and new year I will see the surgeon who did my hysterectomy and I’ll see what she did during her part of the surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery with no pain
Hi! I hope you're doing ok! I'm having the same surgery on 12/30. I am in the same boat as you - I already have the ileostomy. In a way I think you and I are lucky to already have that part complete. Thank you for your positivity in your videos. I know this surgery will be uncomfortable but it's going to be so worth it 💜😊
Good luck! The best part was not having to do the colon prep the day before this surgery 🤣 Prep your mind that this is painful, definitely more than ileostomy surgery 😬, so don’t be afraid to ask for pain meds if something is not bringing you relief! But you are right- in the end it will be so worth it!!
Really?! Oh that makes me feel so much better… I know I am behind on sharing my videos from the days after surgery on here, but I was so bummed that I wasn’t able to get up and walk more. Even still post op day 6 today, walking to the bathroom and back to bed wipes me out…
@@jonathanforbes3906 ooh sounds like your ileostomy surgery was a rough one? I don’t blame you for feeling this way about this one! I pushed it off for as long as possible - and would still be avoiding it if I wasn’t having problems again! It’s a rough one, that’s for sure.
