  • listening order: 1 msb analog dac, 2 holo audio may dac, 3 gustard x20 pro
    for this comparison all dacs are connected to a m2tech hiface evo interface
    in my opinion the holo and msb have both a very natural warm sound, the holo may has a little more presence ad impact while the msb is more relaxed but even more natural .
    the gustard x20pro is a little dryer and less organic (but very good for the price)..

    Holo Audio May unsurprisingly wins with its legendary 3D holographic soundstage. Gustard and MSB are harder to separate, I think the Gustard edges it with slightly more realistic decay on the vocals and saxophone.

    I liked the second presentation the most. The first and third are hard to tell apart. Maybe more testing is needed on those two.

    the second one clearly stands out, great details yet not harsh, very pleasing and enjoyable sound. The third one is ok, but the resolution is not really there, feels like there's a sheet in front of the speaker. The first one, just not my taste, sounds so digital and harsh and right in your face.

    To me the Holo is in a higher category than the msb and Gustard

      sure is better than gustard... the msb is a different question... the msb is a single ended dac and don't do his best with the pass labs electronics (the balanced sources are far better in this set up)... in my other stereo set up with vitus ri101 amp the msb dac sound really wonferful...

The newest Gustard A26 must be a Steal ...for the Money, and sounds like every $4000 DAC..., we will see.

      @gianmarcogervasi6013  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrBoomtheroom maybe there is not a clear answer.. msb and holo are both wonderful .. so is the lector digicode that i share in other videos.. it depends about which set up (speakers, electronics, cable) you use the dac... with my vitus ri101/marten oscar duo the best dac is the msb analog with rca nordost cable, with my pass/wilson i like the best lector digicode with furutech cable but also holo may with nordost cable (lector is more dinamic and detailed.. holo warmer and softer)... obviusly the gustard x20pro is not at the level of the other dacs and i use it with my headpones set up

    Hate the first one, no separation, all mix together. Love the second one. Bad timing the last one. Don’t know which is which.

    in italiano che facciamo prima.... anch'io conosco questi 3 DAC, l'MSB ricordo che suona si naturale e fluido, ma se prendi un brano con transienti veloci lo senti che è lento, mentre l'Holo May a mio avviso è veloce, ma anche incredibilmente raffinato, con un suono corposo e molto credibile. l'X26 pro non regge il confronto in termini di sound stange, molto meno ampio e profondo, anche i suoni più digitali e meno credibili degli R2R seppure nella sua fascia di prezzo mi pare ottimo, molto più equilibrato e lineare rispetto ai suoi predecessori di casa Gustarsd.

      Hai per caso confrontato il Gustard x26 pro con altri dac r2r? Non ho la possibilità di sentirli prima dell’acquisto, ma sono indeciso tra il suddetto e il Denafrips pontus II..

      @@Iuglus ho posseduto per qualche mese il Pontus prima versione, il Pontus II sicuro per i miei gusti, magari con interfaccia digitale in un secondo tempo com la Gustad U18, soundstage ampio e profondo, posizionamento strumenti preciso, suono materico e fluido che l'R2R rende più credibile e naturale
