No, the a6700 is incredibly small! It is barely larger than the a6000---I know, I've had the 6000, 6500, and 6600, and the 6700 is slightly less in weight than the a6600. The a6700 is a hot potato. It becomes very hot even in photography mode and it’s very uncomfortable (not in winter), and yes I set up the temperature settings to high. Also the battery life is significantly lower than the a6600, and you don't even notice the 2 extra megapixels or the AI autofocus because in the a6600 is good enough. I think that if you do photography get the a6600 and if you do video get the Fx30. This combo is the best. The a6700 is a 26 megapixels lava stone with IBIS and insect detection. Would you go from zv e10 to the 6700? About photography, autofocus is a big upgrade from the 6600. As a hybrid shooter. Mainly photo but going towards video.
Absolutely. Even just for the viewfinder. Now, you have to consider that the a6700 is double the price of the ZV-E10 but it is a better camera. If you are going towards video then I'd say upgrade, even if going from photo. There is a new censor, added features, 4K 120, 4K USB Webcam for livestreaming (need fan because it overheats) and others.

I’m conducting interviews (testimony style) so I’ll be focusing on video, but taking pictures here and there. (Church setting) I would say im new to all the lingo but I’m fairly quick and eager to figure out things as they go. I’ve had people suggest the ZVE10 but the quality just looks so.. blah compared to the a6700. You said it’s not beginner friendly. Can you elaborate a little on why? Would you recommend it if it’s someone who’s willing to learn all the ins and outs? Or would you still suggest the zve10? Thanks!
Hey, first, if you have the budget GET THE A6700 no question. And now with the ZV-E10ii out don't consider the original ZV-E10, not for what you want to use it for. I use my FX30 and a6700 at my church. If someone is doing just talking head shots for TH-cam, the ZV-E10 is just fine, especially at 1080p. If you're looking to go deeper in video and photography, the a6700 is the camera to get. It is the best APS-C hybrid camera in my opinion. It has everything you would need including 4K video (in ideal temperature).
Hi, thanks for this vidéo. I have a SONY A6400 for videos. Since I don't use the slow motion mode and I only shoot concerts and showcases in 25p do you think there will be a big difference in the quality of my videos if I upgrade in a A6700 . Regards
Hi, if you're primarily shooting video then it makes sense to upgrade to the a6700 from the a6400. The added features makes it worth it. Along with better battery life. Do you shoot in 4K?
No significant difference in quality in the images, and that includes apsc fuji, canon, om. If you want big differences you have to go to full frame, or even medium frame :).

So, I already have this camera on the way, but I want two bodies (B cam, backup). Usually when I have done this in the past, I could have two different models. I wonder whether or not I get rid of the A6600 and get a second A6700!
I just got the A6600. upgrade from the A6100. Mostly for the ibis, better evf and larger battery. The A6700 is tempting, maybe I should have gone for it. But the A6600 is $998 at BH photo. The A6700 $400 more at 1398. Both have $50 rebates, so slightly less. I mostly shoot photos and use the evf. I like that the a6700 screen can be turned around against the body, to protect it. The A6600 at a lower price is finally a really good deal.
If you mainly shoot stills I wouldn't upgrade. The cost difference between the a6400 and the a6700 wouldn't be worth it unless you are doing video. The a6400 and a6600 are identical minus the IBIS. However, if you have the money, I'd upgrade
Iam actually considering to go from Nikon d3100 wich is a begginer level camera over to the a6700 just because i want to go balls deep into video-making so i think that the a6700 is actually perfect camera for me
I understand none of the A6*** range have dual card slots which is a valid point but this is 2023 but that's not the competition and other brands like FujiFilm which are APSC are the competition which do have dual cards slots and now have great auto focus. I have the A6600 and I was waiting for the A6700 to be released. I am disappointed with it and I am thinking about moving to FujiFilm.

Thanks for the well wishes. When the price does drop, consider the overheating problems it has. For long form recording in 4K I cannot recommend this camera.
I'm still playing with other variables with testing the overheating. After the fan from Ulanzi comes in I'm going to test it out. It seems 4K30 is the setting that has the best overheating threshold.

yup.. my a6600 ain't going anywhere soon. Later this will be my B camera or something like that. The heating prob of this new one might be solved on the next model down in a couple of years.
I am Renting a a6700 for an event to really put it through its paces, I am a 80% photo 20% video shooter but the front dial might be worth it to switch from my a6500 since a lot of time I am changing 2-3 settings quickly going from portraits to group shots and it's hard with the a6500. The a6600 didn't impress me enough for an upgrade they got rid of the build in flash (which I do like because you can bounce it up) and the buffer is like half the size, the a6700 buffer is even smaller shooting uncompressed, but can use UHSII v90 cards compared to my current UHS1 v30 so it might balance out It better wow me or I am likely getting an A7R4 for a "26 mp APS-C Camera" that has 2 card slots and 1/8000 shutter that can also act as a 62mp full frame camera since they can be found used for like $400-$500 more than a 6700

Great suggestion. I thought about upgrade to a6600 too since it has IBIS and some of my sigma lenses doesn't have IBIS.

If you have the a6500 then it's definitely worth the upgrade, especially if you are a hybrid shooter.

If you're doing video then it would make sense to get another a6700 because of the identical sensor, or save up a little more and go for the FX30
the new AI Tracking makes the a6700 much better than all the others. it's pretty insane how easy it is to shoot crisp photos now

I just got an a7r iv for 1500. My first full frame. Using apsc lenses you still get 18mp which is plenty for most of us.
