    This is the BEST breakdown of this move that I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much! I’m actually close to doing it for real. I’m amazed at my progress thanks to this.

    I'm so happy you include quad and inline videos! My crew is a mixed bag, so we need all the help we can get!

    I think you did a great job explaining this and breaking it down into smaller components in ways that I haven't seen before in any other video. You clearly have a very strong understanding of what is going on in this move. I think that just no matter what, there are people (like me) that are uncoordinated and have a really hard time with it when we try it. I have watched so many videos and still struggling. Looking forward to trying out these technique though. Thanks for the vid!

    Heyyyy!!!! I think this tutorial can help a lot of folks. I would add an overhead recording looking down at your feet- as I think this would help some vs watching you doing it. I’ve been skating since I was 13 and this move was hard for me originally.

    Now i m studing this great video .... I m quite learn this tecnique and it seem to myself ,in the end, like the "X moves" when i practise slalom between cones... I m worse? Or i m near to know this moves?
    Thank you a lot from Italy

    Ps. You can even add a 3rd cone (make a triangle shape with them and go in circles that way :-) it’s fun doing it with peoples phones and watching them freak out lol!

    Hey, great video... quick questions:
    I’m a dyed-in-the-wool quads skater, whose quads got so old they died a death... so no I have inline skates. They arrived this morning. I’m aware I will have to relearn how to skate on these, it’s been a few years.
    Could you tell me what make the purple quads are?
    Also, you say one has to learn how to side-surf. My feet don’t turn out, they turn in. Try as I may, I just can’t get my feet to turn out 180 degrees..
    Help!?!!... ☺️🙏🏾

    • @DeezSkates
      @DeezSkates  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The quads are Riedell Solaris. And you need to look up figure skating stretches for hip flexibility on TH-cam to help with your side skating.

  • @justmanny4668
    @justmanny4668 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Hey what are the specs on the wheels being used on the quads?

    • @DeezSkates
      @DeezSkates  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those wheels are 97a Wicked Scott wheels. 60x44mm (I think).

  • @StepBruthaz
    @StepBruthaz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What kind of quad skates are those? :) What could I buy today that is similar? Thank you

    • @DeezSkates
      @DeezSkates  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Riedell Solaris. You can buy them still, but if you want to get a color other than black you have to order the color lab option for custom colors through a dealer.

    So which would u say is easier to learn? Quads or inline?

    • @DeezSkates
      @DeezSkates  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      takeitorleaveit 304
      It all depends on which you are more acclimated to. Personally, I learned it many years ago as a kid in quads. I went back and did it on inlines later and it was a fairly simple transfer.

    Hey man, just found your channel a few days ago and I am impressed by your attention to detail. I have recently learned a bit of this move a few weeks ago. It's not a 100% yet, but I feel like I am getting closer. The link attached is how I learned it which is similar to yours. It's a small youtuber but I think he breaks down skills really well. I am curious to know what you think of his breakdown. The issue is, now after trying it through the cones as you recommend, I realize I can't do it. Lol. I guess I have a lot more work to do, but I appreciate you highlighting these drills for leveling up.Keep the great skate content coming. th-cam.com/video/jcO9uVJnKuQ/w-d-xo.html

    Where you from? Is the skate culture big there?

    • @DeezSkates
      @DeezSkates  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Andrei Fasola
      I’m originally from Texarkana, Tx. I grew up going to a rink called Skate America in the 90s. It had a wood floor the size of a regulation NHL ice rink and was packed to the brim with hundreds of skaters all through the 80s and 90s. I told the story of how it closed down and what happened to the skate culture in one of my recent episodes “The Death of Roller Skating in America.”

    • @cubul32
      @cubul32 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DeezSkates I'll check it out. I'm an 80s kid. Grew up in Romania, started rollerblading in 97/98 ish; I had a bit of ice experience since 90. Rollerblading is big there. as you probably know. Even more so now because of freeriding. This guy that was fixing everybody with gear, got me this Roces boot with a short frame (like a 243) and I had 90mm ish wheels; the best pair I ever had. I kept researching rollderblades about 12 years ago, looking specifically for a short frame - I saw the Roces at some point (they actually sold a pair for street riding forget the name), then Rollerblade began marketing the Twister, then I found Seba FR1 and I knew that was the one just by looking at it :). Last night I felt for the first time I nailed easily powerstops from average speeds and I was doing some basic crazy legs with flow - thanks for the tutorial: keeping the skill going; the best cardio ever - why do people run like gerbils on threadmills is beyond me ... the should use that energy for a skill.
      PS: quality vids
