    I like watching these videos so much. Ryosuke seems like such a gentle soul, he's so playful and enthousiastic and expressive. He seems to really deeply experience things with an almost childlike wonder.

    When I saw the palm wine I immediately thought of Calpis, so it was funny that Ryosuke said they tasted similar. I looked it up, and apparently Calpis has an acidic flavor due to being produced through lactic acid fermentation. Palm wine also seems to be made through a process of lactic and acetic acid fermentation, which likely gives it the similar acidic flavor of Calpis. Interesting stuff.

    I just arrived home from Ghana, and I can certainly sympathize with the sweating -- rainy season makes for a very humid Ghana and lots of sweat! (Also, ahh, watching your husband struggle with the water satchet was adorable. I could also tell that you've settled right in when you said it just needed a 'small small' bite -- such a Ghananian phrase!)

      In previous videos (or in her blog?), Grace said that her mother is the head of a university in Ghana. I'm not sure what her father does, but perhaps he's also on the faculty?
      Grace also said she didn't live in Ghana with them in recent years due to her state of health.

    Oh, now I'm nostalgic for drinking liquids out of bags. Mauritania didn't have the commercial bagged water- you had to pay waaay more for bottled if you wanted non-tap water, but you could get bissap juice and yogurt and stuff in baggies. Or if you bought soda, you would get it in the bag. I remember traveling to Senegal and Ghana for vacation and being so excited by how cheap the clean water was, and all the bagged sugary milk and drinks we could buy at the garage or out the window of the bus on trips.

    • @honeyreyes4384
      @honeyreyes4384 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got nostalgic, too! We do something similar in the Philippines for sodas. They'll sell it by serving (vs per bottle/can). They'll pour it in a clear plastic bag and tie a straw inside it. You then carry it around with you and drink out of the bag by the straw. ❤️

    • @StarRoseAngelic
      @StarRoseAngelic 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Chauna May I ask which cultures? Africa has numerous different ethnic groups even with the same country. And each of these groups have their own languages and cultures. For example I'm apart of the Igbo tribe :)

    • @chauna5413
      @chauna5413 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      StarRoseAngelic tbh I am interested in all of Africa as a Continent Anywhere from Nigeria Qatar, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Tanzania, Dubai, Egypt etc etc. I always love watching new documentaries about different African countries since school doesn't really teach us much of anything about anything I like to do my own research learning about different tribes, wars, poverty, Ebola, sex trafficking, I like to be informed about what's going on in the world :)

    • @chauna5413
      @chauna5413 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh and I meant to say African cultures. Yea I forgot which country in Africa it was but they have over 800 languages and I think that's either freaken cool or super hard yo communicate with people. I think it was Papua New Guinea (which also has the highest number of canablism and use they use a mean of screaming to communicate. I just they are so far behind the rest of the world, money is still new to them

    Those 'touch-me-nots' we have in Australia, but we call them 'sensitive plants'. If they're the same plant, they're Mimosas, they'll get fluffy purple flowers and the stems are thorny. As kids, we used to challenge each other to run barefoot across a patch of them, just for fun. Because as we all know, children are insane.

    The video is great. I like Ryosuke enthusiasms. And for pineapples I think pineapple colors in west Africa depends on the place and seasons in which they where cultivated. I don't thing Ghanaian pineapples are always white like the one I saw on the video. It seemed like it wasn't ripe or sweet enough.

Wow wonderful to see a bit of Ghana, and Grace that shirt you were wearing at the end of the night is beautiful so was the skirt but you looked amazing your husband isn't kidding when he tells you how beautiful you are. You have such a wonderful family seems like they are very supportive.
