I agree with Grace on the kids and TH-cam thing. Remember all the pictures your parents took when you were little that they now have the urge to share with your friends/significant other :) Imagine those being shown to people all over the world. And some people are just troll and will post negative comments for no reason. Leaving your kids out until they can choose to be in a video is for the best. Besides they will be your kids and you should raise them how you choose.
more so baby trafficing, where deep web users use random online pics to sell other kids
I don't really understand this concern. I love my old baby photos, and it may be that the kids will one day wish they had *more* photos of their childhood, as I do.

I find it kind of creepy that people are so quick to ask youtubers when they will get married and when they will have children. Those are such huge life decisions. I realize that they are happy occasions, and that people want you to be happy but... I also sometimes think people want to see weddings and babies just because they think it's cute. They're bugging complete strangers to hurry up and make life changing, difficult, complex, and very private decisions just because they think it'd be oh so cute. To me, that's just rude!

LaCeiba1924 That's not creepy. Its just normal. I have had family members I met that same day ask me every personal thing to the moon. I have been asked "when will you get a boyfriend" or even assumed I wanted kids.
Its human nature that when you see a couple you wonder when they will take the next steps. It's not weird to ask questions regarding their past but its weird to ask questions regarding their future?
Everyone asks these question and they are only creepy and offensive if you let it be.

In the case of relatives, I find that more annoying than anything. People shouldn't assume, they shouldn't pry, and they shouldn't nag you to hurry about such large life decisions. The fact that it's common doesn't mean it's necessarily ok.
You also need to consider *how* the person asks the questions. If you look at many youtubers who are in relationships, you'll notice they get quite of bit of comments nagging them or pushing them to get married or have kids, making assumptions that they even want kids, or speculating that they're pregnant without any reason to think so. And THAT is what I find creepy. The fact that people will ship people on the internet and fervently speculate about and pry into their personal lives.
However, regardless of how people ask, "When are you having kids?" do realize that you are basically asking, "When are going to have unprotected sex with your husband/wife?" and that's just CREEPY.
And rude.
When you don't think about adoption, artificial insemination, or surrogates, I'm sure that is creepy. More than one way to have a child.
i like that you won't be putting your kids into your videos and social media and all that, really is a smart move and very thoughtful!

The one piece of advice I will give you about the whole kids thing...there is NEVER a good time for kids. Don't over think it, if you want to have kids...get started lol life is to short. If you are like I am and can't have them...then enjoy yalls life! Have fun and spend it together. LOVE YALL!!

Candice Rubio I couldn't agree with you more!! I have wanted children since I can ever remember, and it took me two years to get pregnant the first time. I remember when we were packing up to leave the hospital they handed me my daughter, and this wave of surreal panic swept over me and I thought,
"Wait...what?? You mean you are going to give her to me? Oh. My. God!!! What do I do now?" You are most certainly never, ever prepared-no matter how many you have. You just have to close your eyes and leap.
My brother kept waiting for the perfect time, then our father died, and he concluded that if he continued to wait for the perfect time there would be no grandparents around to share with. Eleven months after our father died, my brother and his wife had their first baby.

In terms of the whole baby thing, it's totally up to you guys. Grace please don't feel guilty if people keep pestering to see your kids or pestering you to get pregnant. It's your two's child, no-one else x Wishing you both health and happiness.

I just discovered your videos tonight. I’ve sat here and watched 5 in a row and I must say that I find them to be very entertaining. I feel like what I find to be most compelling about your videos is the dynamic that I see going on between you two. Both of you just seem so close to one another. You’re having all of these new experiences together and it doesn’t seem like you’re taking anything in your life for granted. You’re both grabbing life by the horns and it’s REALLY inspiring. I like seeing you two in your apartment, cooking with one another, sitting down having a great meal together, having out of the ordinary fresh experiences, but also doing mundane everyday things. It all feels so very romantic and real. It’s obviously very neat to learn all of these new things about Japan as well. My lifelong best friend stayed in Japan for a few months and lived on a farm with a young couple. He helped them build greenhouses on their farm over the course of a few months. The stories he had to tell me were certainly very very interesting to me, so watching your videos is a bit of an extension of the curiosity that he sparked in me.
Keep making videos, please. You've earned a longterm sub.

IIRC she moved around a lot anyway while growing up, so it's not too surprising it's not a regional accent. I think she spent a few years in Pennsylvania or something?

I love you 2, so great together. I appreciate your decision about kids & social media. All our grand babies are on there but the youngest has a mother that doesn't go a day without posting a picture - it bothers us. She's 6 and there's hundreds of pics on all forms of media. There's so many bad people out there, scares us🎈

I agree with letting them choose. I mean, when they're old enough to have an opinion that they can voice, it's definitely a choice they should be allowed to make for one. However, as parents having this type of concern this early in the game totally demonstrates how aware you guys are. Frankly I'm just glad!

Not having kids is also an option, as I'm sure you both know that having kids isn't a necessity for a happy marriage. :) I *love* my niece and enjoy spending time with her, but I also enjoy the fact at the end of the day she goes home and I get my nice quiet home back with my hubby. ^^

Your video really struck me. I've been living in Japan for the past 7 months. I haven't been reaching out to anyone. It has caused me to feel super home sick and very depressed. I stay at home all day doing nothing. The only person I talk to are my friends through facebook and my husband who is gone most of the day. I really should be reaching out more and start making new friends.
I thought I was the only one... you had the same experience. It's really encouraging that I'm not alone. That other people have gone through the same thing.

Dude, I totally get you on the poop thing hahaha! Especially when you have an amazing crap, you can look at it with a measure of pride and say, "Yeah, I made that."
I agree with y'all about not having kids in your videos. There are photographers , bloggers, and vloggers coming under fire for putting very personal and potentially embarrassing things about their children online, which, like you said, the children can't really consent to. More importantly, I think it puts even more pressure on kids to try to be "cool" or look a certain way based on comments on the videos or from schoolmates who might see the videos.

I absolutely agree with you about putting kids on social media/TH-cam. I really dislike watching youtubers who put their kids online publicly like that. It is basically using them for money...and they can not give consent.
And I am a mom to four myself....it is why I will never make videos...no way do I want my kids personal stuff all over the internet, it goes against what we want to teach our kids about online safety.

Awwwwww. I respect your choice to respect your future kids privacy but I will be sad that I won't get to see what they look like until they are teens. I hope that you would do pregnancy updates and maybe baby/kid age updates? Like when they are babies you be like baby rolled over and found their toes. Maybe pictures where we can't see the face and it looks like a fancy art photo. I just love babies and y'all's babies would be the cutest.

Can I just say how much I respect you guys for deciding not to chronicle your future kid's lives for your fans?! It's always really bothered me when bloggers/vloggers do that! Many of them talk about things it's doubtful anyone would consent to as an adult, like bedwetting issues and discipline problems. Mommy blogs kinda freak me out, too. I can see the appeal, but it really feels like people are exploiting their kids.

A very reasonable stance on the kid thing. Personally, I'll probably share only the most inoffensive pictures of my kids when the time comes. But, I don't have the same kind of internet presence as you guys. Your kids will probably appreciate you keeping them offline at first.
I've also experienced the isolation thing first hand. And you're right, it really sucks! We're moving again soon and I'm basically going to put all my effort into building us a new social circle as soon as possible. It's easy to take that kind of stuff for granted but it's so important.

I have a question for you guys. I am thinking about going to Japan to study in a language school again. i previously spent 6 months doing this but I wanted to really learn the language again since it is on my bucket list of things to do in my life. I am a freelancer so I can take my work with me and I know I need a visa.
How do you make friends if you are just going to Japan without knowing anyone. Volunteer? English speaking hobby clubs?

7:10 That's the reason my sister puts up absolutely no pictures or videos of her kids anywhere. At first she not even made stories in WhatsApp. Later she started doing that, but only "we went on a trip to here" type of things and always put something over the faces or her kids, if they were visible. For the same reason - Social Media will be enough pressure for them one day, they don't need to have their baby pictures all over the internet for everyone to see.
The kids questions will never stop. Because once you have your first child, the question would then be, "When are you going to have another kid?" You get used to it lol.
Don't trust the rabbit has a child but we never see the baby. You can have both. Not everything needs to be for us. Keep making videos you like. It's ok if you don't share them with everyone.

I think it's a good thing to think about social media and what to do when you have children.
Aureylian (a gamer youtuber I follow) has a daughter and she hasn't had her daughter in her videos until her daughter started asking to be in the videos (and even then she took some time to think about it). She still doesn't use her daughter's real name. She always calls her Boo.
If you want kids please have them :) the faster the better. No pressure but just don't want you guys to regret it. It's a lot of work and sacrifice to have kids but they can't be traded for the world!!!!!
I love your point about kids not being able to consent to having their images online... I feel like a lot of people get super excited and post a ton of pictures and video online, not considering that they can't really take that back later. It's one thing to overshare you own life, but it's another to overshare someone else's, particularly if that person doesn't understand that it is happening.

I had to stop the video and comment about this - I had the EXACT SAME regret in my mind when that question came up. I recently moved to another state for a job. The first few months, I was mostly alone and I was a bit depressed as well, which I beat myself up for too much. I have since made friends and am starting to enjoy my new life. I wish I had been a little more brave about meeting new people sooner and I that I had been a little nicer to myself along the way.
Oh no! But I'm glad to hear you're settling in, making friends, and stuff. That's so important (and it's SO hard to put yourself out there those first couple weeks, when everything is new and confusing...)
It's nice to hear from you and Grace about this regret and eventually recovering. Unfortunately, I've felt isolated in Japan for years and haven't been able to settle in.
