Hi Karen, nothing like local produce, here on the Isle of Man, we are so lucky to be able to buy local veg, fruit, milk, cheese, meat etc nothing like local, tastes like the food we were raised on
Fresh farm produce is divine! There's nothing like a good heirloom tomato straight from the garden or farm. Asparagus is another vegetable that is incredibly delicious right from the garden. I'll take fresh veg any day over steak!
Very nice, we generally have cauliflower cheese with ham xxx I've never been keen on the mushy broccoli so I might give organic a go... It's day and night tastewise usually with fruit and veg if you go organic xxx
Such great news Karen. I hear that British farmers are joining together to support each other to keep out the gov and suoermarket interference. It is so sad here in South Wakes. There are thousands of acres of farm land left unused.
Interesting topic! In the States farmers have gotten smart. You pay a one time $1 fee to belong to their co- op. Then you “ belong”. Like you, I noticed the taste difference immediately. I had forgotten what real apple cider tastes like. I was buying natural apple cider at the local market. I was complacent and accepting of their claims. In general, The Farm to Fork food is so much better! There’s really no comparison and the prices are similar. I heard about the Farm programs on ABG Prepping. Thanks for mentioning this idea. I also think it’s worthwhile to support our local farmers. I love the sense of community.
Looks absolutely beautiful. We have a ‘farm shop’ but like you say not the expensive fake type of recent years. There meat is local to the fields and they don’t use pesticides or hormones in the feed. It’s only pennies dearer but it’s so worth it. I’d rather have slightly less but better quality food. It keeps me trim 🤣
The veg in my local co-op is minging and sweating into plastic bags. Despite whitby being surrounded by farms we have no fruit and veg market. Our "farmers market" consists of a hippy jewellery stall,a garden ornament seller, and someone selling astronomically priced chutney.
In many places, farmers are not allowed to sell directly to the public. There are some like U-Pick berries, pumpkins, etc. that are allowed, but I think that they are required to sell wholesale to retail markets as a rule. Others will know more about this than I.
I never boil veg since I bought my steamer. Keeps the nutrients in better and nothing goes mushy. Also saves money as you can cook 2 lots of veg on one 'ring'. Highly recommend. I use my local farm shop for veg, meat and milk in bottles ( bring your own bottles (glass) each time.) Ageeed, much tastier but i balence the budget by having yellow sticker or on offer stuff the rest of the time.
Love food from the farmers market
So happy you get to eat these veggies. I imagine there will be even more choice during the summer. Nothing beats the taste of a garden toast!

looks very ❤nice making me hungry😂😂😂❤
Looks delicious 😊
Good afternoon 😃
That's amazing, you can't get any better food than the one that grows locally. Is it pricier than the stuff you find in the shops?
Those broccoli stalks can be cut thinly and used in a stir fry. No waste!

Instead of farm to fork, in the US we call it farm to table.
