Hey guys, figured I'd announce here that this channel is going to be dedicated to mostly about my art. Mostly 3D modeling and game design stuff. So if that interests you, be sure to check out my most recent video. I'm hoping maybe to also make tutorials in the future. th-cam.com/users/Floreum Edit 02/29/2024: Happy Leap Year! I'm still around, still making 3D art.
I remember reading that exact quote. Who knew it was bullshit, I didn't explore the outer edges of the game until I literally finished all the quests and missions. I was dissapointed. Of course Peter molyneux said fable was the most immersive game in the world.
Probably my most memorable moment from oblvion (funny-wise anyway) was when I was working on my Hand-to-hand skill and only had a bit left before level 100. So I went to the master Hand-to-hand trainer who's master quest was simply that you had to hurt him with a single punch. I still to this day remember laughing for several minutes when I power punched him and his body did a little hop in the air and he crumpled to the ground dead.
CommonGamer I was talking to that one guy with the imp pet in one of the mages guild halls, and while I was buying something, he just died, and his imp started killing everything in sight.
I remember watching this in 2007 after I built a new PC to play Oblivion. Here we are, 14 years later and I'm back for the memories. My life is totally different now, but my love for good video games remains.
Damn this video was uploaded 10 years ago. Makes me wanna play oblivion again. I remembered coming back from school everyday and playing it for hours. Good old days.
To those who are wondering, this is not a mod of sorts. It is a legitimate thing to do in-game. Also Morrowind was not implemented as an idea in the game the map is there as really undefined meshes since it because an endless land of randomness at a certain point. This is just what they used to stop people who passed the mountain "Barrier"
I can't believe it's been 9 years since this masterpiece was released. I remember watching this as a kid after my Xbox original broke down and I could no longer play morrowind lol.
+Kogman If dual wielding weapons and spells is removed, I will know who to blame. Also, don't lump the steaming pile of shit that is TESO with Skyrim. I get it is cool to shit on skyrim 24/7 because it had mass appeal, but putting it near TESO is just mean.
Chill bro, when I said this I meant GRAPHICS. I wouldn't want duel wielding or spells removed, and meant more cartoon like or dark look instead of realistic.
Oblivion, the game which took my gaming virginity. How I miss it so, can't believe it has been over 10 years since its release. Absolutely unbelievable...
@@timtipton4538 which is crazy because I remember watching this video and leaving that reply like it was yesterday... yet it’s been four months... man...
+That Bethesda Guy TBH I prefer Oblivions Graphics over the other Elder Scrolls. The Character Models look quite dopey but I prefer the colourful "painted" style of graphics in the games environment over Skyrims more realistic graphics. I think it makes it age slower.
It's not like 2006 was in the middle ages or anything haha. There were plenty of people running games in 1080p even back then. Although the 1024x768 resultion was way more common. TH-cam didn't even allow video's of 720p to be uploaded til late 2008,which might give the impression that games/recordings from before that date were really low quality, but the reality is quite different.
SingleTurboSupra goddamn hard to believe the first time I played this game I was 7 and I'm 17 now lol so many good memories from this game blows my mind its been 10 years
in 2018 fallout 3 will be 10 years older too, times go by so fast, my brother moved out couple months ago and he played marrowind when he was four. He played oblivion when he was 7/8 and I played fallout 3 when I was 5/6 xc
Nikos Zedd While on the horse I thought fall damage checks to see if the player themselves can take damage rather than dealing it to the horse in Oblivion; while in Skyrim it tries to deal the damage to the horse first rather than the player.
The ambient music in this is making me feel so much nostalgia and it's just overwhelming... I played this back when I was 14 and now I'm 24, it was my favourite game ever although I gave up gaming completely at 20, and even at that point I barely played anything since 18, this music brings back memories of how you thought your life would turn out, back when there was so much to look forward to in the foreseeable future, but nothing really ever went to plan, just endless failure in every aspect of life, hearing this game's soundtrack again is enough to cause a complete breakdown for me now, I wish I could go back to being a 14 year old again.
yup it's scary, no matter what you do in life time still goes by normally in the end and it's ten years before you now it, unless you can slow down the illusion of course
So I was that guy who commented on this video about 10 or 11 years ago, saying; "wow, I remember watching this back in school." A lot of people liked and commented replying about how they too watched and remembered this video back when TH-cam was in its infancy. That old account of mine was deleted by yours truely. I just thought that I should comment once again on this video and maybe in the years to come, people will once again reply and comment about their own memories of this game or anything relating in general. Honestly I didn't think I'd make it this far in life, yet here I still am. I am also very drunk, which explains me being a bit emotional and reminiscing about older times.
Some strange feelings appears realizing that back then when I was just a little 4 years old kid people played and enjoyed video games and even recorded them

Holy crap this video is nearly 15 years old, wow. It reminds me of the giant expanse of unused area in New Vegas if you manage to get out of bounds via Searchlight Airport, only this has land stretching on forever instead of water. Wasn't this also used for the out of bounds area in Frostfire Glade?
Something so infuriatingly tantalizing about the borders in Elder Scrolls games; you're stuck at an invisible wall and there's a whole new region to explore, with new mysteries and stories to unfold. I guess I overthought that shit a little when I was younger, haha.
I was only 10 years old when this was uploaded. My first experience with an Elder Scrolls game was with Skyrim about a year after it released. I played it at a friend's house, and I thought it was the coolest thing I've ever experienced on a console. A few years later, I bought Oblivion on Steam because I heard it was better than Skyrim, in some aspects. I never played it seriously for several months till I started playing it more a year or so ago. It really is a fantastic game, especially in the role playing aspect. I wish I would've had the pleasure of playing this when it released, but we were raised so far up Nintendo's ass, it couldn't have been possible. It's amazing looking back and seeing how much has changed.
Even though this video is ancient, worth noting that this is easily possible anywhere with setting bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 in your ini. Also, no landscapes in Oblivion are randomly generated in the client, that was just one of Todd's E3 fibs. Oblivion's procedural generation was pre-baked by the devs and everything is static in the Oblivion.esm file, so every player will see the same trees. Land and trees may appear to pop in which could be confused for live generation, but this is due to missing LOD data. Outside the borders we can get a unique look at what the more raw tool-generated terrain looks like before Bethesda touched it up by hand after, so there's a lot more floating trees and terrain bugs.
I remember watching this like 9 years ago! Oblivion is still playable and enjoyable! hopefully bethesda makes this backwards compatible: getting bored of skyrim special edition already!
Raider Homer they should but it will take too much time: I'm thankful they made it backwards compatible. I've put so many hours back into that game: but I've let it rest for skyrim. Fallout 4 didn't have the same feel like new vegas: so after getting all the achievements I put it back in the pip boy box and left it in the loft :( what a waste off 250 pounds in my opinion.
The Lone Wanderer fallout 3 would be nice but I've also got that on my xbox one I think I got it free for getting the pip boy edition Fallout 4: but it would look better with better graphics or EVEN MOD SUPPORT ;)
demonocus drumocus probably my favourite game off all time to be honest: I just can't be bothered plugging my 360 in if I've still got it: I can't remember where it is it might be at my old house. if they made it backwards compatible I'd never be off it.
The music brings back my memory's of playing this game; I'm glad I still play it :) the music in all ES games are awesome! Especially in Morrowind and oblivion...
Thunder is a very loud sound that is made sometimes during a very big rain storm. Thunder is so loud, it can be heard from a very far distance. It can sound like a boom, a crash, or a rumble. Thunder is made when lightning strikes. The energy from the lightning heats up the air so much that it makes a kind of explosion. When lightning is very near, thunder will be heard soon after the lightning flash, and the sound will be very loud. If the lightning is farther away, the thunder will be a few seconds or many seconds after the lightning. People can guess how far away the lightning is by counting the number of seconds between the time they see the lightning and hear the thunder.
i think this is youtube messing with the algorithm of the site. This video is ancient. I dont even watch bethesda related gaming vids. theres no reason this should be in my recommeded list... that all being said great game 10/10 -IGN
these old Oblivion videos were my introduction to youtube. glitches, easter eggs, torturing the adoring fan with midas magic, duping a sea of watermelons in the market district.

15 years. Where’s the time gone
Mournhold! City of light, city of magic!

not in germany ;D there you can drink with 18 ;)
and softer alcohol drinks like beer and wine with 16 ;)
Ten years, and im still playing this over and over again. Yearly.
They should of remade oblivion instead of skyrim. I miss oblivion
Colin Knight I think they should have remade morrowind. It would have made me happy.
They should set the next TES in a different place. I would like to explore Elsweyr or Black Marsh.
Czesnek they can't do black marsh because only argonians can live there, due to toxic gas.
Mercy-SOL
Only in the center, but people found a way how to get to the center unharmed before.
Czesnek Valenwood and Elsweyr would be good if they were both in the next game. Maybe have Summerset Isles as a DLC.
like going to mt. hyjal in vanilla...you could, but nothing there.
I remember watching this way back and getting so upset when i couldn't get into Morrowind from the map border 😂
2021 and we're still watchin'!
I remember watching this ten years ago and trying it myself and having the best time): I miss those days
Fuck I remember when these graphics were the shit in 2006. Man how the times have changed.
Going to do another play through of oblivion
Most relaxing video i've seen in a long time
The music brings back my memory's of playing this game; I'm glad I still play it :) the music in all ES games are awesome! Especially in Morrowind and oblivion...
what are those explosion sounds ?
@@Floreum i got more than 5000 hours in my oblivion game and you aint gonna convince me that those are normal in-game thunder sounds.
i think this is youtube messing with the algorithm of the site. This video is ancient. I dont even watch bethesda related gaming vids. theres no reason this should be in my recommeded list...
that all being said
great game 10/10

these old Oblivion videos were my introduction to youtube. glitches, easter eggs, torturing the adoring fan with midas magic, duping a sea of watermelons in the market district.
I remember watching this when I first started playing Oblivion, It's still the best game (In my opinion)
OMG nostalgia to the max. Shit if I ever had one wish it would be to replay Bethesda games for the first time again
teeen years ago ooooo fuck
I remember watching this video years ago. I feel so old.
