In the comments below, someone described the singing as "Near Eastern." I was hearing Celtic, Irish.... maybe the name "Reeling" created that association. Any other views on that? And who or what is "Arthur?"
Hmm... this sounds so much better on the album. It was one of the first song that got me interested in contemporary classical. Ironically, I had a moment of "vow, this stuff actually sounds good and isn't just wank-off improvisation".
The singing is too much for me, but the instrumental stuff I like. I am not trained to like Near Eastern music, so the voice is annoying. I could accept Glenn Gould singing to Bach, but not this.
Russell Deanna Russ, the singing wasn't *for* you. It's integral. That you're "trained" at all may be a bit of a barrier. Gould's singing is incidental. Here, it's the foundation.
Russell Deanna uncultured swine... lol jk jk. I am a classically trained musician, and actually a music major. I actually really like this. The singing isn't annoying to me and I think it was an interesting concept to use it as the foundation and build up the other instrument around it.
Russell Deanna I am listening again now. 2nd time it is better, and my problem is my memory associates this chanting voice with religious ceremony or hypnotism. And since I am not religious or a believer in any kind of spirits, I find it artificial. So it is my problem, not that of the composer or musicians.
This is far less chaotic than Arthur makes it out to be.
I could listen to this for a decade 100😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Thank you Arthur...
ChibiTwilight. Bru
this makes me so relaxed
I was going to recommend this to my friends but it’s Tre avant- guarde And might be too sophisticated for them.
Muffy 😂😂😂
This is tres avant-garde
The singer is French canadian and it's in gaelic reel style
Does anyone known who it is besides Julia Wolfe?
A M A Z I N G
I love this! The video production is great but the audio degrades towards the end for some reason.
Maybe it's too sophisticated for you?
The gain on the singer's microphone is set too high, and there's clipping when he sings louder. It's unfortunate.
I think that might be deliberate ? I quite like the sound, it's dirty, blurred and over the top
Arthur episode ;-) l like this music
lol i think everyone is here because of Arthur. im watching the episode now
A trick : watch movies on kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching loads of movies recently.

This band was featured in an episode of a PBS children’s cartoon named “Arthur”.
Arthur is a little kids tv show and is on pbs kids there is also an app for it (
The singing is "turlutte" from Quebec, part of the traditionnal music of this place, which has been greatly influenced by irish traditional music.
...........great !!!!!!!!!!
This is sick. Sounds like Gentle Giant.

Hmm... this sounds so much better on the album. It was one of the first song that got me interested in contemporary classical. Ironically, I had a moment of "vow, this stuff actually sounds good and isn't just wank-off improvisation".
*Arthur brought me here 0-0*
So a episode of Arthur just made me curious lol I’m 30 🤦🏾♀️
I think the instructions here were - don't play until you can't help it.

Khajuraho fairy
It never takes a break! It gets progressively WORSE!
Quebecois!!!
It's definitely not for me. It sounded more like noise than music which i guess is noise but it's more pleasing noise

Honestly what the fuck
Arthur brought me to this annoying atrocity as well.
