As someone who tries to learn from your Reels, I’m so happy you have TH-cam tutorials now! 😊 One thing that would be super helpful is if you could talk more about which pastels you use at which point, like the brand and the hardness. It’s so difficult to find that information for beginners and I know I would have benefitted from it and still would! So thankful you are here and I can’t wait for more!
I just discovered your channel today Valerie. I really relate to your passion for pastels, as I feel the same. ❤ Thanks so much for sharing your talents.
I have been working in pastels for the past few years and love your narrations. They are upbeat and detailed. I am a perfectionist that has so hard of a time moving away from photo realism. Your detailed work helps me progress towards being more impressionistic in my work. I look forward to more videos and your courses. Thank you sooooooo very much.
Watching your channel for the first time, and I love this! I appreciate how you did this in real time, and you verbalize which color you're using. Well done!
Thank you for this great tutorial! I am always so anxious on how to begin a painting and you show how ok it is just to dive in and adjust back and forth with a light touch! What a wondeful memory to give your daughter-”this is how wondeful the sky looked the day you were born!”
Glad I found your channel. I am a newbie and telling us which brand pastel and color you’re using would be super helpful. There’s so much out there it’s overwhelming. The excitement in your voice when you’re painting draws the listener in. Keep going! It takes time and patience to grow on TH-cam. Keep posting!
I loved this and what would have completed it for me is if you had added a list of colours, softness and possibly brand of pastel you used as you pan across your palette colours at the end of the reel.
love this ❤.. just one question though..do you use a setting spray after finishing the painting? i've used them before but they seem to change the colors on drying. I was wondering if not using the spray would make the pastel flake off the paper and ruin the painting with age..
Hi! Nope, I don't like using a finishing spray for this very reason! I prefer to use the sanded papers because it grips the pigments in place and I find prevents the need for the final spray. :)
I have a daughter too.. She was a pink baby when she was born 😊.. Your painting is really beautiful.. One question I have What paper did you use? Please mention. 😊

Soft pastel is Composed of crystals of pigment…8:05
I love your work! Do you ever use pieces of pipe foam to mix? I understand that it saves your fingers........
What grit is the paper please it seems pretty fine
@@deniseshaw3871 it was Uart 400 or 500! I can’t remember which, but those are the two I use. :)
