Lab grown meat is out in the public as well... I can tell the difference in how it cooks and looks after it's done cooking... I can name a main store that many shop at that is supposed to be cheaper and save you money. I hate to say it, but it's true... I would try to find someone or somewhere where there's an actual butchered animal for sale.
No one wants to fight the rich man's wars in foreign countries. Put some of that recruiting to border patrol and give them the authority to enforce the border.
People are not enlisting in the military because they do not believe in this country and what it stands for. Considering lab grown meat was invented within the last five years, I highly doubt that is the reason people are no longer enlisting. 😂😂
The meat in our commissary has been questionable for a while. It has been over a year since I've bought any from there. Weird look and texture on the beef roast I bought over a year ago.

I saw this morning that Doordash will be accepting foodstamps. The article says it's for groceries but McDonald's has already announced accepting foodstamps as well.
I'm sick of all the excuses. I'm a grandmother and I have to work 12.25 hours and then sometimes have to stop for groceries. I've never used Doordash even when working 60+ hours a week. I'm sick of hearing how healthy food is more expensive than junk food. For dinner I ate tuna salad and crackers. Tuna is 82 cent a can. Crackers $1.25 and last for lots of meals.

I made homemade bread yesterday to go with supper. I also was teaching my 15 year old grandson how to make it. The old ways will survive.

I live in a little town just south of Chicago. I walk every single day, armed with pepper spray, until my legs start to ache and then come in out of the heat and lift weights. I walk only in my neighborhood in broad daylight and sometimes with my daughter's pitbull on the days I watch her. I'm pushing 70 and need to be in good shape in case of whatever may come my way. No one in my immediate neighborhood is friendly, in that they don't make it a point to say hello or wave. It’s like a ghost town these days. Family trouble, big time and they all tell me it's all my fault. I need to keep my mouth shut about Jesus and living right so they make it to heaven. Got some really upsetting news yesterday and couldn't sleep last night. You're right, Patara. We're in so much trouble. So many of us have lost so much. Heartbreaking. I never thought, not ever, that my "golden years " would be like this. I dreamed of joy and spending time with my grandkids. They've taken that from me, too. Where would we be without Jesus! He knows very well what we're going through. Don't ever give up on yourselves! Keep praying for your families. Remember, it's always darkest before the dawn...

It isn’t just women who aren’t safe. My husband just pinged his location and a photo of the business where he had to go for work yesterday. He had to go to East Chicago. My husband is not a small man. He is a careful person who loves his family and values his life.
How do you ping a location. A website?
No one dresses or thinks about personal protection when going out or to places anymore - I see all these women in sandals and flip flops walking around in clothes that show everything and are proud of the attention they get from others then when something happens they can't run. I get laughed at for wearing hiking boots and jeans to work but it's a 30 miles walk to home and if anything happened at school (teach) I can walk over glass and debris. Do this due to experience over 30 years ago (tornado while at school and school damage).
We should all have a get home bag in our vehicles, at the very least, which would include the proper footwear.

I was assaulted by an attempted carjacker or kidnapper at noon in a parking lot in a nice part of town. My mistake was that I sat in my car and texted the party I was meeting that I had arrived. This gave the attacker time to move from the getaway car a few spots down ( it was a setup) to hide behind the car next to me and wait for me to open my door. When I opened my door he came up from behind. I was trapped by my open door. I was able to step back into my car and hold to the steering wheel and eventually kick him to fend him off, which I don’t advise, but I just kept thinking “why is he trying to get me out of my car?” Lesson is: be prepared to IMMEDIATELY EXIT your car when you pull into a parking spot

More recently, I've noticed unfamiliar middle aged men have been sitting outside of my local Kroger in the outside dining area. Just sitting and watching, on their phones. No food, no groceries, no families. More and more foreign faces showing up in the community and they just glare as you walk by..

I remember when I started a job at a nursing home. I only have pierced ears; but I love to wear layers of bling jewelry....it was my style. I was told there was no ban on that for my position, but that I made myself vulnerable to having all of this metal grabbed onto by elderly residents. It was attractive to them. I did modify my style.
I learned how to make tortillas. My grandma would be so proud. She tried to make them and said they never turned out the way she wanted them to.
I learned how to make them about a year ago, I just slapped my forehead, they're so easy! My teacher was Rachael Cooks with Love, she's on yt.

,I am 74 years old try to walk 2 miles a day aerobics about hour and half, which l enjoy lift 30 lb ers and lift 30 lbs with ft. My dog who l had to put to sleep 2 yrs ago, a Snickerdoodle, 2x chased guys back into their cars who were coming towards me. My Goldendoodle l have now l have to be protective up, she has tried getting I to UPS truck with man that petted her.
A year ago my grandson living in Denver had noticed a man trying someone's door he thought maybe it was someone's boyfriend. Next night while he was sleeping, his Rottweiler next to him. He had left door unlocked for his girlfriend's brother. All of a sudden his dog was on him growling towards door. The guy who he had seen by someone's door night before tried his walked in. My grandson said he was afraid because the guys eyes didn't look right and was scary like from a movie. He said guy was huge strong came at him and my grandson fought for his life his dog ripping at his hands and legs trying to get him off. My grandson remember he had a knife fortunately on the counter and he finally got him down. The intruder died. The police were going to arrest my grandson. Fortunately there were neighbors there who defended my grandson, who is kind and will help anyone, how l raised him. This man had been trying other people's doors also, and found his open. He had nightmares for a long time and a friend from out of state came, took off work and stayed with him a week. Started crying l could of lost my grandson. Also please if going for a walk, lock your door. Lock your door ALWAYS between garage and into house.
Year's ago, I insisted that my husband install new locks on the front door and the door to the garage. I also required that he put in deadbolt locks too, and the one for the front door must be double keyed: key to get out as well as key to get in. I didn't trust the fact that someone wouldn't just break the glass window, reach around and turn the deadbolt knob. He now sees the wisdom in that decidion.
There is no "fair" in a real fight. Hair, eyes, groin, all fair targets. Neck ties, Sam Brown belts, pony tails, hoodies, all make great handles.
I doubt my 100-pound Lab would defend me. Maybe I'm wrong, but his personality does not lend confidence in this area. Thing is, no one else knows he's a "scardy cat". My Weimaraner, on the other hand, I would not test.

I am almost 71. I walk at least 10,000 steps every day. I am getting started with some strength training. I am trying to get myself in better shape. I live in a small apartment but I am putting things away for the hard times to come.

Life skills you never know when you need them...I was a Ski Patroller long ago...while it was my turn to watch the sick/accident bay two young ski patrollers came in with a toboggan sled used for rescue...the inside of the sled was a material made to slip someone in and close them in...well, it was ripped...the two guys came over and asked me if I could show them how to sew...(One guy said he wished he had watched his Mom sew when he was younger)...I had shown them how to thread a needle and the different type of stitching & knots that they could use...the simplest skill can come in handy in a lifesaving situation....Now they can sew someone up if they ever need to...Ski Patrollers are trained well over 80 hrs on EMT & Winter Rescue Survival Skills.

Patara, I love to hear you. Although I live in a subdivision I am growing veggies (not an easy task, a lot of learning curve). I have elderberry starts and I have my 20 baby chicks that I hatched out 6 months ago. This is the fourth group of chicks in four years. I wanted to learn about the different breeds of chickens so I raised them to maturity and enjoyed the eggs. Then became familiar with farm auctions to grow my knowledge of farm community. My grandson is by my side to assist me, but really I’m helping him to learn our “old” ways of surviving. He made me a tinfoil hat and we laugh but he is learning by “assisting an old woman”!!!! My family is peaceful. We hear you.
I can be found in my backyard with my 3 dogs and my chickens that I love to watch - settin with my coffee and smiling at the shenanigans of my animals, waiting on my babies to lay the first egg.

Patara is so right about who is around you in public, even in a department store. After a situation I found myself in yesterday, I think I'm going to order online even if I have to return and try again. Less exposure the better.

On another subject of interest. I received my weekly sales flyer. 13 pages and 6 full pages are for liquor stores! Are the people expected to numb themselves for what's about to happen? It's just so out of the ordinary to see this many sales for liquor.
What 6 pages of liquor adds says to me is that sales have declined more than they want. I recently read (ok skimmed) something about how nationally, overall beer sales are on the decline and some concerns related to a bit of a reduction in the number of brands and offerings.

Like you say Patera don’t take the bait!!! I saw that video by the hairy faced guy talking about a civil war. He was a liberal basically saying “bring it.” So, don’t take the bait. Prepare baby!!! Stay safe. Keep your eyes on your surroundings. Don’t put yourself in dangerous places.
