Ring muscle ups are way easier than bar muscle ups because with rings you can use different angles and microadjust your wrists. I can do several bar muscle ups and just by looking at this I know I can do several on rings just after one session. Of course you need a good base and some strength but don't confuse this with bar muscle up. This is why people do ring muscle ups without kips before going to the bar because its way harder on the bar. You comment makes 0 sense and I'm guessing that you can't do muscle ups, even with kips. Of course you will kip on your first bar muscle up to get into the technique.. there is no way you can do it without kips if you haven't been doing calisthetics for several years before trying it for the first time. Also, It's one thing to do 1 muscle up and a totally different thing to do several. That's when you are tested mentally.
Most of the guys claiming they've learnt something in x number of days, usually have some form of practice before releasing videos, but that's definitely not the case with this guy, he seems so genuine and relatable when doing these excercises. Perfect outfit for geek climber, glasses, slippers and bed hair! Good on you , I can do false grip, ring dips, but still not progress to ring muscle up
When you do the false grip, do the rings cross the inner part of your palms? Just make sure that’s the case and I am sure you can do it after a few practices!
This has inspired me to go out and try to learn this as well! I can do 11 slow pullups on the rings and around 6 slow dips on the rings but I never worked on the transition. Your false grip epiphany was revolutionary in my eyes as well. Can't wait to start practicing. One more comment, since I do a ton of dips, you can turn out the rings at the top and it allows your arms to fully straighten. When you turn out the rings your palms should be facing forwards. This is a great addition to the exercise because it will help develop straight arm strength, which is required for more difficult calisthenics movements like the Planche. Cheers! (Edit: I just tried a ring muscle up with the false grip correction you have shown me and I almost got it on my first try! The difference is insane!! )

Wow, this is as raw as it gets. Other TH-cam channel shows a guy that already knows how to do muscle up. This one shows how to the progress of it, which is excellent for beginners .
You went from barely able to do a dip to a full muscle-up in like 18 days. I think it's safe to say that you can't build a ton of strength in 18 days (of course you can gain some), so that really goes to show form/technique is super important.
imo ring muscle ups are way easier than in a bar and it's because of the false grip. May cause some disconfort at first (i don't do it regularly because of it) but once you understand the technique they feel really easy. Kinda works the opposite way to bar muscle ups too, first rep is easy but it's harder to do reps on the rings because of the lack of momentun (even in perfect form you can benefit from the downward move in a bar muscle up)
Yea, I think I had the pull strength to do it on day 1, but pushing was the tricky part. I think I had to get used to the instability of the rings and also build up some strength to do the dips. My max bench press till now is still only 45x2 lbs dumbbells, which indicates pushing on the rings is easier than bench pressing.
Wow, very impressive great progress for such a short time! Mine took waaay longer to get haha. Keep this up and before you know it you'll be doing one arm muscle ups😉

You rock dude! I love your goal setting and "don't quit" attitude. You're going to go far in life my friend. And, you're definitely NOT average.
Did my guy just bring his sandals to the gym?
*Asian 100*
Lol
I like how supportive these people are as well. Good content
What if he just kept counting his dips with the same enthusiasm every rep.
"Third dip of my life"
"Fourth dip of my life"
“Oho.... Thousandth dip of my life hahah!”
“First dip of my way life”. The look on your face is brilliant. Small goals along the way. You gotta a good attitude dude
You can try front lever now
Too easy just do front lever negatives and advnced tucked front lever pull ups everyday 4 a month
SWEET! You're inspirational. I'm starting my ring muscle-up journey today!
If Matthew McConaughey suddenly sat behind _me_ and cheering _me_ on on day 19, I would be able to do a ring muscle up as well
Alright alright alright, get up on them rings
I gotta tell my friend next time that you said he looks like Matthew McConaughey!
Hey man just got my first muscle up yesterday, gonna work on ring muscle ups now! Ur videos give me motivation man, thank you!!!
Awesome! Are you doing these workouts before or after your climbing session?
I would assume before, after sessions the pump is so real.
It's actually after a light climbing session. Your body has to be totally warm before attempting moves on the rings!
Man this is so inspiring! That persistance and ability to learn practically on your own is anything but average. Keep up the awesome work!
Can you front/back Lever? If not can u do a video for those?
Front lever is much harder than muscle ups and back lever is easier but antagonistic to climbing so he probably cannot do either,
@@sillychinas Hell I can't even come close to doing a back lever, but I can hold a straddle front for about 2 seconds. Everyone says back lever is easier......and I feel like the opposite. Sucks :(
John D if you're only getting 2 seconds, go back to single leg FL. 2 seconds is too little to get any real volume in. I'm at single leg raises right now and can do about 5.
I'm also shit at back lever, it always feels like a stretch instead of an exercise
I was shit at back lever too, but when i actually put work in i realized it wasn’t bad. In a few hours i was able to get the form down and i was able to easily do a one leg Back Lever ( i cant straddle front lever). Just make sure u learn the technique (protract/depress shoulders. Keep legs/core tight. Flex lower back, etc.)
@@sillychinas don't do one leg u give to much presure to one side and much more less to the other just a tip
Gonna attempt to learn the ring muscle up now! I feel I have an edge because I can already do the ring dips multiple times~ Wish me luck!!
Yooo!!!! Just wanna say I achieved the Ring Muscle Up!!albeit only doing 1 rep, but hey thats progress! Thanks for the tips, the one that really helped was the false grip over the bone!!
Thanks again!!!!
Who is also watching this in there bed
Andreas Hentze Jørgensen no im actually watching this while training my muscle ups
Me. Watching this instead of doing an essay due for tomorrow.
Yup lol

Just got some rings in today! Can't wait to work on this tomorrow! Great job!!
"Average"

Trying my best to level up to the "above average" status!
