I have the g915 clicky. It's mediocore in all respects.
The keystroke is too long, despite the shortened keycaps that imply a shorter throw, but in reality just exposes the keyboard to crumbs, lint, hair etc. I've pulled a cat hair out that was triggering the g key with tweezers. It's garbage.
The G keys bug the other keys if you haven't set it up. F*ck that. They're also about three millimeters too close. Yeah, it matters.
I agree the keyboard is "too long," but not because it's too big, because there's no shoulder on it at all. Which is deceptive. You end up moving it too close to the mouse because the edge and the key positions are off and your brain is trying to maximize the space.
My next keyboard will be an IBM 4704. I'm done with this nonsense.

I know this is your first keyboard review so I have a couple of critiques. First, the video is 17:41 minutes long. It should’ve been 17:42 because 17:41 is just too short. Second, I saw a spec of dust on the keyboard when looking through my handy dandy magnifying glass. Other than that, this was the best keyboard review on TH-cam; trust me I checked. It took me almost a month to decide on a keyboard. I ended up going with Razer huntsman Elite, but had I seen this review, I would’ve probably chosen this one. Thanks man and great reviews as always.

Just got myself the G915 TKL with GL Linear switches (red) and I can say that I love it. Very quiet for a mechanical keyboard. I think the low profile helps as well with this. At first I was thinking for the full size, but after I saw the TKL has 10 hours longer life for battery and numpad is just for dust (for me). I got it for 150$. I think it's the real price for it

Or use the free tool "Caps unlocker" its a free tool of 32kb.
After installing, Only pressing the CAPS has no result.
To set the capslock, you have to press the shift and the capslock together.
So hitting the the capslock by accident is no longer possible.

I've had the 915TKL in white (which only comes in Tactile) for about 6 months and it is one of my favorite keyboards. I was upgrading from the Steel Series original Apex Pro so this was a big upgrade. I didn't like that the White version doesn't get a choice of key types, but I've been fine with the tactile not having experienced the others. The build quality has been great so far, but mine came with a black, rubberized cable, not a braided one, so it doesn't match, looks bad, and I'm afraid it won't last as long as the keyboard. I appreciate being able to switch between light speed/bluetooth with a button press to hop between typing on my Windows PC and my Mac. I pair it with my Razer Tartarus Pro in White and the Razer Atheris in White so it all looks pretty good together. I've enjoyed it so much, I'm getting the black G915TKL (linear) and the Corsair K63 lap board for console gaming on my couch.

The way I fixed the number pad problem is by buying a 3rd party one. It sits on my desk above my mouse, and I use it for data entry such as 2FA and budgeting numbers. I still find number pads super valuable (which is why I paid good money for a mechanical switch version), but I actually use my mouse about 2-5" away from my keyboard as I primary type (I'm a software engineer). It's far more comfortable to use a TKL model which is why I personally switched about 6 years ago.

    • @VladimirMizich
      @VladimirMizich ปีที่แล้ว +1

Sorry to reply to such an old post, but I found your comment super helpful. I was considering switching to a TKL keyboard form factor for more mouse space (and also for a cleaner desk), but was still thinking about all those times I like to use a numpad, entering passwords, doing calculations, sometimes using for controls (helicopter/plane games, or older games that are controlled by the numpad). Basically, as dispensable as the numpad might appear, it's actually incredibly useful and I wouldn't want to miss it.
Your suggestions to get a separate 3rd party numpad is just excellent. Like you said, that way you can still use it when needed (having it above your mouse, or under your monitor, out of the way), and still get a TKL keyboard for a clean desk. I really appreciate the eye-opening suggestion.

I forgot to mention that the reason battery indicator is set to flash at 15% is that under 20% every electronic device that uses lithium battery, create huge stress on the battery. This means the more you keep it unde 20% the faster your battery will die and the fewer cycles you can have.

Worth noting is that the FN key on the TKL keyboard is not reprogrammable. It does not send a signal to the computer when pressed on its own. You're out of luck if you want to use it as a right Windows key (or as the Compose key in my case) and use for example the Pause or PrtSc key as the FN key instead, which IMHO is a much more sensible placement of FN than the bottom row.

Micro USB = NOT WORTH IT. I've broken enough micro USB ports to know these are not worth it in 2020.
ABS = NOT WORTH IT. Seriously, for the price, they couldn't afford PBT?
(Not metal like mentioned, of course)
PRICE = NOT WORTH IT. I use a $70 low profile keyboard, both TKL and full. Only difference is they are wired. $200 for wireless? No thanks.
Cheaper keyboards manage to have PBT keycaps on them, at less than $100, and some have USB C.
The price and materials used just do not compute.
    ...
In my opinion, it is just overpriced. Logitech was once a good brand, that went the way of the Apple and Razer when it comes to premium prices, but does not have the materials and parts to back it up.

Hi, sorry for responding to a comment a year old, but I'm planning on buying this keyboard (logitech 915 full size) and I was curious as to how you find it after a year. I don't know what they're talking about with characters becoming less visible over time. They've probably been eating cheetos during their gaming sessions 😅
I'm a software developer so i use this keyboard for 8 hours a day at work, and then another few hours at home. Haven't experienced any wear at all, even after 3 years the thing still looks brand new.
Only a few minor complaints with this keyboard:
      1. The rubber buttons do indeed suck and are very offputting
      2. I wish i would've gotten the TKL version
      3. Due to the keyboard being low profile, it's very hard to find replacement keys. I still have all of mine, but this could be a problem. Modding the keycaps will be even harder.
The low profile does however give alot of ergonomic advantages though.

Bro Please answer to my Question between the LOGITECH G915 TKL and the KEYCHRON K3 V2. Which one is more flat ad has a shorter pressaction? Which one is faster with cable? Because i dont need Bluetooth its not so important for me it's important that i have less MS latency. And at least which one is more quit with the red optical switches? Please its very important to me. I using it for cs go. And the support of Keychron write to me that the keychron hast 30 milliseconds wireless and 13 seconds in wired mode but i cant find anything about the LOGITECH G915 TKL

I recommend buying a deskpad that allows you to fit both your keyboard and your mouse on it. It'll make the keyboard sound different, and in a better way (imo). Stacking coins on top of the keys is also a good way to measure their actuation force and whatnot.

I just thought it was kinda funny that I had watched like 3 or 4 videos about this series of keyboards to include this one were 3 out of the 4 people (jayz2cents being the outlier) were making the switch to being without it. That being said I can't stand laptops with number pads but that's because I feel like they are off center. but all of my regular keyboards have number pads to include my logitech k360 which almost like a laptop keyboard but wireless and has the number pad(but the arrow keys are where they would be on a laptop and the other keys like home and end are above the number pad) that I use for my raspberry pi with retropie when needing to type commands and such.

Linear switches feels like a elevator button. No feedback until you press all the way.
Tactile switches has a tactile feedback half way through think of it as iPhone home button or DSLR CAMERA where you half press to focus and full press to take the shot.
Clicky switch feels like tactile switch, but also give you audible feedback. Youvdont think it will do much but it gives you a feedback knowing your keys got registered.
With android phone you can simulate this.
Linear switch - put your phone in silent and type. No viberation on keystroke
Tactile switch - phone on silent but vibrate on key stroke ( vibration is the tactile feedback)
Clicky Switch - volume on vibrate on key stroke. You will hear the keys clicking and feel it.

I never use macros and I have no idea what G-keys are? I would much prefer the full size model didn't have the macro keys as it just makes the keyboard FAR too long, I use the number pad several times every day so its something I want at least on the PC I use most throughout the day but that along with macro buttons, its FAR too long, it just gets in the way. I would however quite like this TKL version for my gaming PC. I have the Logitech MX3 Mouse and matching Keys keyboard which along with having the keypad and is 100% wireless and has great white RGB for lighting, its also has extremely long battery life and I rarely plug them in, both the keyboard and mouse also have really quiet switches which is what I prefer as its more relaxing, I don't want the noise of clicky buttons.
