Hi Arni the T2. Nice video you make a great couple working together on the T2. It is nice seeing that Mrs also has the same interest in doing the engine work.
I'm looking forward to the next EP.GreetingsHubertus.Have a great weekend you too, and get better soon.

Hi, I build plenty of engines every year. That looks like a bus case with 1600 barrels for sure. Just check for any cracks between the valves on the heads or around the spark plugs. It’s had some bodgery going on with the oil cooler too I see.. think I remember it had some sort of extra cooler in the engine bay too… that’s not needed for a standard 1600.. case looks like it’s been painted with a dogs tail too 😂 and the fan shroud has seen better days with all that stuff welded to it. BUT it should be salvageable. PS I can do case line boring, etc if you find the thrust is bad or the bearings have beat into the case. 👍

The engine number on the crankcase is the only real way to tell but it doesn’t matter that much either way as you can easily swap pistons / barrels and heads ect.
Id go for 1914cc barrels and pistons when you rebuild it as it’s so simple and cheap

1776 is the best bet 94s will not give the miles

@@timeintheuk true, but replacing the pistons and barrels after 50-60k miles Isn’t the end of the world.
And the van will pull better with the bigger displacement, either way anything’s an improvement on the stock 1600 👍

Hey There , thank you for your comment😊 we was hoping to do the same as you just clean it up and put it back together, but there is quite a bit of movement on the end of the crank, so I think we’re gonna have to split the case and see what’s going on. Hopefully we can just put new shims in to stop the end float
