Hello William Kincaid. Your explanation of how to replace the Purge Valve Solenoid is very easy to understand. I followed your directions and it was very easy to replace the faulty purge valve on my 2011 Ford Fusion se. Furthermore, when I first noticed the Check Engine Light, I drove my Ford Fusion to an Oriellys Auto Parts Store. I asked to use their Code Reader to get the error code, and yes it was P1450. My Fusion had three error code readings, all of which were P1450, and one of them was permanent (meaning I would need to complete a drive cycle to remove). So after I purchased & replaced the faulty purge valve, I again used the Code Reader to remove two of the three error codes, and to also turn off the check engine light. Then I followed online instructions for how to complete a drive cycle. After I drove a complete drive cycle, I returned to the same Oriellys to once again use their Code Reader, and after a complete drive cycle, the permanent error code had removed itself. Thank you.

Great video Sir! Saved me at least $100 versus going to the stealership on my wife's 2010 Fusion, her car gave me the same code and after watching your video got this part removed and replaced in less than 5 mins! Thanks again, how many miles do you have on your Fusion? My wives is at 120,000 and still runs like new, only full syn oil changes and only other thing I had to do was the valve cover gasket cause it started leaking oil into the center part which would have made the plugs/coils go bad so I replaced the original plugs while I was at it!

@Ashlee Evans Bought a used 2010 2 years ago for 2500$ and 164,000km and have not had one issue ,just regular maintenance
@@pierreverdoni 2010 fusion 2.5 has 209k other than this and door handle runs like a champ

I replaced this part and cleared the code. Within 4 days the code came back. Have 2010 fusion too.

How did you determine the vapor solenoid was at fault. Did you test it or just guess work?

I have the same car, just wondering if it could be something else, did the code come back?
My code never came back, thats the only solution that i saw.
Just disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. After this, the engine light clears.

Is this the correct one I should look for? The Duralast Canister Purge Valve PV691 cost $25. Please let me know. Since then, you never had code P1450 again?
That’s the one. No more issues with that code since replacing. No additional codes either but obviously one could occur whenever.
