    I’ve bought a brand new Galant back in 1998 and used it for 9 years. This video is like a trip in memory lane. I knew every nut and bolt on that car. Awesome cars.

    Not only did we get to see JDM Tree, but we got to see a JDM Beettle all in the same video.
    Between the Stagea and the Legnum, I like the looks of the Stagea more but the performance of the Legnum more. Too bad I cannot afford either.

      @@juce1410 They were popular in AUS. I live in the USA. If the GTRs are any indicator, you are going to look at paying ~30K - 50K USD for a Stagea RS260 or a Legnum.
      In AUS ten years ago, the Stagea was going for ~15K USD.

      @@tenoki damn that’s real expensive, I’m a kiwi (New Zealander) and we have a fair bit of gvr4’s and legnums so they’re often between $5-10k nzd, I knew they’d be more expensive overseas but I want thinking that much, damn

    • @tenoki
      @tenoki 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@juce1410 Yeah, here in the USA, we are paying the " Send our leftover stuff to the Americans" tax since we have 25 years or older exception. We are paying top dollar for the left over stuff since the cream de la creme has already been sent of to the Commonwealth countries.

    I imported one of these (auto AYC), one of the first imported into Australia (compliance passed when the car was on the ship). I imported it to sell, but it became my daily when my v35 gt8 started having issues. I’ve had a number of JDM cars since and can honestly say that my VR4 was the best car I’ve ever owned.

    Oh man, what I'd do to have one of these in a manual. They're hens-teeth rare though, sadly.

    • @interstate366
      @interstate366 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m surprised they made them at all in manual. A lot of the other manufacturers around this time weren’t putting manuals in their midsize wagons. The Accord SiR wagon, for example, was auto only.

    • @R33Racer
      @R33Racer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@interstate366 Yeah that doesn't make a lot of sense to me, Honda's being well known for their excellent manual gearboxes and 'envolving' driving style of their cars, owed to their handling.
      But I suppose that's the JDM market for you.

    • @interstate366
      @interstate366 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@R33Racer Yeah. Toyota also didn’t put the manual in the Altezza Gita (IS300 Sportcross elsewhere) or the Mark II Blit despite the sedan versions of those cars having them available.
      They also never put a manual in the Aristo or Crown at all during the JZ years, though you can use Soarer/Supra/X chassis donor parts to swap them.

    • @PacificCoastAuto
      @PacificCoastAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have seen a couple of Altezza Gitas with manuals at auction. I always thought the same that they were all autos. It was a 6 speed manual as well.. which is weird because it was the 1GG inline 6 cylinder engine, not the 3S-GE BEAMS.

    • @R33Racer
      @R33Racer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PacificCoastAuto That is strange. I know there are Beams manuals, I didn't even know they had inline 6's as an engine opton!
      It does seem that wagons/estates are inherently more likely to be autos, at least in Japan.
      I thought that the 2nd gen Stagea's were all autos, but they did sell manual transmissions of them too apparently. A very rare option that almost nobody chose it seems, sadly.
