I just sent them over $200 today I cant sleep and Im paranoid as fuck I. I changed my passwords and everything and still feel unsafe as hell because of my stupidity. I was about to send them $1000 for fucking free but thank god my brother called me in the middle of that and I had to cancel it. It couldve been worse. Even sent an email to discord’s CEO and told him about it cause my actual discord friend recommended him to me. I honestly didn’t know this was originally a hack on Steam accounts until I did some research (after the fact of getting hacked) that it was going around on Steam. But hopefully Jason will get back to me and recover my account. I sent him screenshots and everything that I could help to quicken the recovery process on his end.

The scan sounds very believable at first glance. Seeing through scams requires not just intelligence but also knowledge about common scams, the common tactics, and normal weaknesses of human psychology.
Experienced once today. That sounded trustable in first place, until little embarrassment due I was truly outside with someone, unable to look at my device. It was stressing, until we start doing IRL activites, then it's alright. In aftermath the "admin" or "support" showed their impatience like "We need your faster respond here Discord user." instead of letting me do my own thing before. So, it's a scam with signs that a normal human being doesn't do.

Yo, those guys were hella smart, man. They had so many backup plans, it was crazy. The only thing that seemed a bit sus was the whole 50 dollar thing, but by the time I realized it, they had already hacked into my account.
Just got this scam, I literally almost changed my email. But I'm so glad I thought not to.. Also they said my discord account would be suspended in 24 hours (guessing they do this to add pressure)
I fell for it but I was able to revert my email to my original one after sending a whole paragraph with proof to Discord. I think they are aware of this scam

Ah yes. I went through that too. You just reply to it and basically just ask for an actual discord team to talk to or something. They may take a while to respond but they do. Though I can't really say I expect much though. I've been waiting for about two weeks with no updates or anything. Still waiting.
I fell for this scam too on May 26th. I reported the incident immidiately and at first I got an automated response. But a week later, they looked into this and gave me a follow up. Then they reverted my account back to my original gmail. Hope you get yours back too
my friend got scammed today, if only i had known this earlier, i couldve prevented it. the person who stole his account also tried scamming me, but since i was then aware, they werent able to do so.

All right. 😂 So, this literally just happened to me, they asked me for three things. 1) Where I'm from, 2) my email addy, and 3) my cell number. All of these are publicly known info already (and are on my resume). I gave the info and LITERALLY they stopped there, like, "We dropped all of the reports on your account. You're good to go." LIKE LMFAO OMG WTF 🤣

A friend of mine got hacked, and the person sent the same stuff as you stated in this video though with a little bit of change, saying somebody hacked into their account and reported all of the people they had friended but they got their account back an' all, creeped me out a lot.. First thing I did was ask some questions only my friend knew and they immediately stopped replying, went to confirm whether this was a scam or not then I found this video.. The person who told you that you got accidently reported is someone that already has been hacked. The hacker is controlling my friend's account into tricking me.

Id recommend making a thing on discord, you can file a report for a hacked account on the official discord support site. Explain to them what happened and see what they can do. If you have Nitro or have had your account for a long time mention that. Hopefully this isn't too late!
@@Vxsya21 Ohh my bad, I don't think they can really do much with just your email. I'm unsure about phone number tho. I'd reccomend getting 2FA to make sure nothing happens if you don't have it already, just to be a bit more secure in general. Just make sure you don't change your email to anything or change your password to anything they tell you and block the scam accounts.
This is my freind who sent this scam to me so I think his discord account got hacked. And the person who hacked his account tried hacking me with the specific scam.
I unfortunately fell victim to this scam this morning. Thankfully they only got like fifty dollars out of me, and I managed to get my account back, boot them and report them, and go on a password changing spree. Still, I feel stupid for not recognizing the signs. I wish I had known about this scam sooner. Edit: There is even a subsection when you change your email for the code saying ‘Discord will NEVER ask you to change your email for any reason.’
I fell for it and usually I don’t fall for scams. My account has been taken over for months despite numerous support tickets. Recently they even changed my account username to another scam support bot
Lmao, the fact that these kinds of scams exist means that there are actually people falling for it. I mean, I feel bad for them, but to be honest, if you're so gullible, it's kind of your fault. Could as well come up and say that they're a Nigerian prince who wants to give you a million dollars, but you have to give them 20K first. Update: One of my mutuals fell for it and I got a DM this evening. I blocked them immediately when they sent the copypasta stuff and the fake screenshot.

A friend of a friend on discord just messaged me saying he accidentally reported me, luckily I gave him nothing and thought to look up the issue before getting in contact with the account he told me to message. He's never talked to me much before so he's probably been hacked. Thanks, this video probably just saved my account.

Almost fell for it, a dude named Timothy Chen has been going around hacking people's accounts, soon as I called him on his crap on discord about it, the message wouldn't go through, I'll have to keep an eye out just in case, as for continuing to use discord, I think I am just going to delete my account and make a new one
I fell for this. I got my account back the next day. I already gave the scammer my email when they said that creating a new account would be a crime, fraud specifically.
The scam happened to my friend, luckily I acted fast and found out it was a scam, at the last minute. I didn’t send my PayPal, or anything. I instead spoke to my “friend” about it (the hacker). I fell for it because I don’t usually talk to them, I did insult them a few times, like I mocked their spelling mistakes 😭 but they blocked me in the end so I guess I’m okay. I also blocked the ‘discord staff’. Once I found out it was quite funny. But my friends helped me so if it weren’t for them, I would’ve gotten my account hacked.
The other week, I had fallen for this scam. At the time I didn't know as I couldn't find any videos surrounding this scam, And I lost my account to a scammer for less then an hour. Discord Support was able to help me in less then an hour and I received my account back. I never knew of this, until seeing this video. I'm so glad this was talked about and addressed, this definitely needs to be talked about more as it risked my own account.
@@sigmaziz0 I just went to their discord support page, and submitted my issue. I made sure to go into complete and full detail over the issue, including screenshots of me and the scammer. In less then an hour I received my account back and it's safe. I'm not sure how I received help so quick, as my friend who originally scammed me still hasn't received their account even. I happened to be lucky with discord support I guess?
@@snoergee I didn't message discord, I went strictly through their discord support website page and explained what had happened there with all evidence and screenshots. Shortly after they contacted me back and I was able to have my account Back safely. This may not be the case for you, as I'm unaware why I was able to get them to recover my account so quickly in such a fast manner. My friend who originally got me scammed still hasn't recovered their account back, I was just lucky I guess? I'm not sure really.
Two of my friends have been hacked now. I received a new one less than an hour ago but I’m not going to do anything yet because this happened with another friend a few days ago. They said they accidentally clicked on a link, got hacked and “reported all of my friends including you”. Both of the people have said this now which makes me believe that it’s also a scam but I’m not sure.

Apparently it seems like my friend fell victim and my account is still safe as I was going through the steps. I made up that I managed to make friends with that certain account I was told to look for, and I said that everything is all settled. The next day, I saw that my friend's account was hacked and I was trying to tell the dolt who stole it to give it back to her...I just hope she actually gets her account back😔

this just happened to me, so i was on discord and my friend eli who got hacked said he mass reported me, and i believed it at first but i looked closley and i got this clint smith guy and not only that, he cloned my acc, had the same shit as me and all of that, so then i look at the date and it looked the exact same, along with the color of the banner, so i looked and realized i almost got hacked, i blocked them and contacted discord support but im good now, thank you for this video man.
Thanks dude, this actually might prevent my like 1 year friend getting control of my account, because he just said he "accidentally" filed a report on me because a scammer took his account and apparently gifted and bought over $640 worth of discord nitro, so he “accidentally” reported me and told me I have to apparently appeal this 10 hour pending ban to the associate professor of law. Fun fact: I linked him this video and he went offline after a few minutes LMAO😭

uh so i fell victim to this scam and got hacked, even though i studied IT and i thought i knew all the other common scams/hacks. luckily i i didnt actually send the hacker any money, i filed a ticket with the real discord, and got my account back. i will say, even though i (thought) i knew and could recognize scams, they were really persuasive and gaslighty in the moment that i just kinda forgot all the red flags i had studied before

@@Anyzii when submitting my ticket on discord's real site, i included like 10 screenshots of our entire conversation that i still had access to, once in the original ticket, and again in my reply email. the REAL discord support recovered my account in about an hour. then i immediately changed all my passwords, including of the email of the original discord account. then unfriended, blocked, & reported the hacker. as well as my friend's hacked account.

Happened to me 3 days ago. A friend I haven't talked to in a while on discord said. "Hey are you here?" And me thinking it's her said "yes what's up?" The Scammer then proceeded to copy and paste a whole paragraph basically explaining how they "accidentally" reported my account for 300$ nitro scam". At first I was very confused. (Because the scammer texted me just when I woke up) But then I realized it was a scam and immediately reported and blocked. (Btw I asked my friend in person and they're working to get their account back)

I got this scam from my friend, well it was his account, he probably fell for this scam and it was a scammer on his account, and it’s just like said in the comments and the video. 12 hours to message someone with an accurate looking thing. When I heard Discord never tells you to contact a username, that’s when I knew for a fact I was getting scammed. I had to make sure I wasn’t getting scammed because this was just out of the blue. So I checked online and found this. For those who get this scam too, tell them that the accidental reporter might have to contact the user and that the reported isn’t believeable in situations like these.

I just fell for this just now, so annoying I couldn't realize it was a scam, i just emailed discord right now. A bit irritated and disappointed on myself for not knowing this was a scam.
They said "Hey I'm sorry! I encountered a situation on Discord where someone with a very similar name to your profile attempted to deceive me Instead of reporting the deceptive user, I mistakenly reported your account, I'm really sorry it was all an accident i didn't mean it."
Remember to report the message where they say they accidentally reported you for scamming. it's a little something we can do to try to fight this together :)

I fell for it but I was able to revert my email to my original one after sending a whole paragraph with proof to Discord. I think they are aware of this scam

Ah yes. I went through that too. You just reply to it and basically just ask for an actual discord team to talk to or something.

I fell for this scam too on May 26th. I reported the incident immidiately and at first I got an automated response. But a week later, they looked into this and gave me a follow up. Then they reverted my account back to my original gmail. Hope you get yours back too

All right. 😂 So, this literally just happened to me, they asked me for three things. 1) Where I'm from, 2) my email addy, and 3) my cell number. All of these are publicly known info already (and are on my resume). I gave the info and LITERALLY they stopped there, like, "We dropped all of the reports on your account. You're good to go." LIKE LMFAO OMG WTF 🤣

A friend of mine got hacked, and the person sent the same stuff as you stated in this video though with a little bit of change, saying somebody hacked into their account and reported all of the people they had friended but they got their account back an' all, creeped me out a lot.. First thing I did was ask some questions only my friend knew and they immediately stopped replying, went to confirm whether this was a scam or not then I found this video.. The person who told you that you got accidently reported is someone that already has been hacked. The hacker is controlling my friend's account into tricking me.

Id recommend making a thing on discord, you can file a report for a hacked account on the official discord support site. Explain to them what happened and see what they can do. If you have Nitro or have had your account for a long time mention that. Hopefully this isn't too late!

@@Vxsya21 Ohh my bad, I don't think they can really do much with just your email. I'm unsure about phone number tho. I'd reccomend getting 2FA to make sure nothing happens if you don't have it already, just to be a bit more secure in general. Just make sure you don't change your email to anything or change your password to anything they tell you and block the scam accounts.

This is my freind who sent this scam to me so I think his discord account got hacked. And the person who hacked his account tried hacking me with the specific scam.
I unfortunately fell victim to this scam this morning. Thankfully they only got like fifty dollars out of me, and I managed to get my account back, boot them and report them, and go on a password changing spree.
Still, I feel stupid for not recognizing the signs. I wish I had known about this scam sooner.
Edit: There is even a subsection when you change your email for the code saying ‘Discord will NEVER ask you to change your email for any reason.’

Lmao, the fact that these kinds of scams exist means that there are actually people falling for it. I mean, I feel bad for them, but to be honest, if you're so gullible, it's kind of your fault. Could as well come up and say that they're a Nigerian prince who wants to give you a million dollars, but you have to give them 20K first. Anyways, if anyone here actually lost their account to this scam, I hope you'll get it back and never fall for something like this ever again. Always protect your account with 2FA to be double secure!

A friend of a friend on discord just messaged me saying he accidentally reported me, luckily I gave him nothing and thought to look up the issue before getting in contact with the account he told me to message. He's never talked to me much before so he's probably been hacked. Thanks, this video probably just saved my account.

Almost fell for it, a dude named Timothy Chen has been going around hacking people's accounts, soon as I called him on his crap on discord about it, the message wouldn't go through, I'll have to keep an eye out just in case, as for continuing to use discord, I think I am just going to delete my account and make a new one
I fell for this. I got my account back the next day. I already gave the scammer my email when they said that creating a new account would be a crime, fraud specifically.
The scam happened to my friend, luckily I acted fast and found out it was a scam, at the last minute. I didn’t send my PayPal, or anything. I instead spoke to my “friend” about it (the hacker). I fell for it because I don’t usually talk to them, I did insult them a few times, like I mocked their spelling mistakes 😭 but they blocked me in the end so I guess I’m okay. I also blocked the ‘discord staff’. Once I found out it was quite funny. But my friends helped me so if it weren’t for them, I would’ve gotten my account hacked.

The other week, I had fallen for this scam. At the time I didn't know as I couldn't find any videos surrounding this scam, And I lost my account to a scammer for less then an hour. Discord Support was able to help me in less then an hour and I received my account back. I never knew of this, until seeing this video. I'm so glad this was talked about and addressed, this definitely needs to be talked about more as it risked my own account.

@@sigmaziz0 I just went to their discord support page, and submitted my issue. I made sure to go into complete and full detail over the issue, including screenshots of me and the scammer. In less then an hour I received my account back and it's safe.
I'm not sure how I received help so quick, as my friend who originally scammed me still hasn't received their account even. I happened to be lucky with discord support I guess?
@@snoergee I didn't message discord, I went strictly through their discord support website page and explained what had happened there with all evidence and screenshots. Shortly after they contacted me back and I was able to have my account Back safely.
This may not be the case for you, as I'm unaware why I was able to get them to recover my account so quickly in such a fast manner. My friend who originally got me scammed still hasn't recovered their account back, I was just lucky I guess? I'm not sure really.

Two of my friends have been hacked now. I received a new one less than an hour ago but I’m not going to do anything yet because this happened with another friend a few days ago. They said they accidentally clicked on a link, got hacked and “reported all of my friends including you”. Both of the people have said this now which makes me believe that it’s also a scam but I’m not sure.

omg i had a dm rn that said "I accidentally reported you" and i was skeptic because i was like "whos just randomly gonna find my discord account" so i messaged them and they kept on replaying to me with the same message, but i did block them.
i got that message, talked a little cuz i was worried, but was very sus, so i looked up "discord fake report scam" so i was shown here. i blocked him, reported him and i yawned at him. thank u so much for this help jordan!

Apparently it seems like my friend fell victim and my account is still safe as I was going through the steps. I made up that I managed to make friends with that certain account I was told to look for, and I said that everything is all settled. The next day, I saw that my friend's account was hacked and I was trying to tell the dolt who stole it to give it back to her...I just hope she actually gets her account back😔

Thanks dude, this actually might prevent my like 1 year friend getting control of my account, because he just said he "accidentally" filed a report on me because a scammer took his account and apparently gifted and bought over $640 worth of discord nitro, so he “accidentally” reported me and told me I have to apparently appeal this 10 hour pending ban to the associate professor of law.
Fun fact: I linked him this video and he went offline after a few minutes LMAO😭

uh so i fell victim to this scam and got hacked, even though i studied IT and i thought i knew all the other common scams/hacks. luckily i i didnt actually send the hacker any money, i filed a ticket with the real discord, and got my account back.
i will say, even though i (thought) i knew and could recognize scams, they were really persuasive and gaslighty in the moment that i just kinda forgot all the red flags i had studied before

I am also in the same situation. Did you do anything special when you talked to discord support. I have submitted a help ticket and DM'd them on Twitter like it says to do but I'm worried about getting my account back. Is there anything else I can do.
@@Anyzii when submitting my ticket on discord's real site, i included like 10 screenshots of our entire conversation that i still had access to, once in the original ticket, and again in my reply email. the REAL discord support recovered my account in about an hour. then i immediately changed all my passwords, including of the email of the original discord account. then unfriended, blocked, & reported the hacker. as well as my friend's hacked account.

Happened to me 3 days ago. A friend I haven't talked to in a while on discord said. "Hey are you here?" And me thinking it's her said "yes what's up?" The Scammer then proceeded to copy and paste a whole paragraph basically explaining how they "accidentally" reported my account for 300$ nitro scam". At first I was very confused. (Because the scammer texted me just when I woke up) But then I realized it was a scam and immediately reported and blocked. (Btw I asked my friend in person and they're working to get their account back)

I got this scam from my friend, well it was his account, he probably fell for this scam and it was a scammer on his account, and it’s just like said in the comments and the video. 12 hours to message someone with an accurate looking thing. When I heard Discord never tells you to contact a username, that’s when I knew for a fact I was getting scammed. I had to make sure I wasn’t getting scammed because this was just out of the blue. So I checked online and found this. For those who get this scam too, tell them that the accidental reporter might have to contact the user and that the reported isn’t believeable in situations like these.

It’s been two weeks since I fell for the scam and I had to file my fourth ticket yesterday because they always marked my ticket as ‘solved’ after not having done anything and before I even got a human response. Discord Support has been extremely incompetent and useless on my end.

I just fell for this just now, so annoying I couldn't realize it was a scam, i just emailed discord right now. A bit irritated and disappointed on myself for not knowing this was a scam.
They said "Hey I'm sorry! I encountered a situation on Discord where someone with a very similar name to your profile attempted to deceive me Instead of reporting the deceptive user, I mistakenly reported your account, I'm really sorry it was all an accident i didn't mean it."
