That's why I love your cooking videos- I hate waste, too, and love to see how carefully you scrape every bit of batter out of the bowl! I was taught to bake by my depression-era grandma and there was no waste in her kitchen, believe me.
I was all excited to make “brown butter pumpkin cookies” until I realized I had no butter 😑 so I substituted shortening… got them on the oven and they still looked “wet” after baking. Realized I forgot all the flour! So I scooped them in a bowl, added flour, and baked again. They were edible (my daughter loved them) but I want to try another pumpkin recipe this week. Hopefully I won’t mess up in this one 😂
I love pumpkin bars especially with cream cheese frosting. They look delicious. I’m glad you don’t waste food, it drives me nuts when I see people doing that.
I have a can of pumpkin sitting in my cabinet and can't wait to use it to try these pumpkin bars! I was wondering if you could do a video about your top kitchen tools? I'm curious to see what kind of pots and pans you have in your collection. Just an idea!
I LOVE that you hate waste!😅 Drives me nuts when cooks leave Ingredients on utensils! Lol. This looks GREAT. I'm going to use coconut oil. I feel it's healthier than the other oils
The weather turned to the 40s yesterday here in the Midwest. I made these for the first time and the house smelled of cozy autumn and the bars were delish! Thank you for all of your content! 🍁🎃
I am making a cup of coffee and whipping me up a batch of these as I type, thank you so much for all you do love your videos and I share a Recipes with my daughter.
Enjoyed watching your video and your pumpkin bars look so delectable. I was going to make a pumpkin cake later and add chocolate chips to the batter. You are totally correct about adding oil to the bars to keep them moist for a long time. I think you are a natural born cook/baker and you put your heart into whatever you are preparing. Yep, fall is in the air this morning but what better time than now to start baking. Enjoy & thank you for sharing your video.
These look so delicious, I can only imagine how they smell when baking. I'll try these for our Sunday school class. I also love how you level your flour , I use a knife but then you have an extra item to wash.
Stop………. Now I’m hungry for this, started watching this and I had just bought some canned Pumpkin. So in the kitchen baking a pan now. I love Pumpkin anything. Thanks for sharing this super easy and tasty recipe.
I like to roast my own pumpkin to make pumpkin puree. I'll even turn a carving pumpkin into puree and think they have plenty of pumpkin flavor. I make a pumpkin "bread" (more like cake) that I'll roast and puree for. I'll drain the puree in cheesecloth (saving the liquid) making a nice, thick puree. I'll then turn around and use the liquid I got out of the puree as the liquid in the bread. Eaten with cream cheese or butter is heavenly. Thinking about making a maple cream cheese to go with it. That sounds incredibly tasty.
SO GOOD! I happen to have all the ingredients, so when I saw this demonstration I dove right in to baking! Absolutel delish! I should have halved it, but I can freeze it.
Thank you for this recipe. I volunteer at a horse sanctuary. Tomorrow night is our Thanksgiving dinner. I will bring these for the rest of the volunteers and friends to enjoy. Maybe even give a taste to the four legged friends. 🐴I will keep a few unfrosted for them. 😊
For those of us outside the USA could you please let us know what the volume of a can of pumpkin is? We can't buy pumpkin in a can and these look so yummy
Kaleb, I wish you would mention alternative "healthy" neutral oils such avocado or even light olive oil. Seed oils are so detrimental and even some M.D.s are calling them out as toxic. Of course, they say the same about sugar but I guess you have to minimize the damage somewhere if you're going to consume sweets at all. 😊 Btw, all your recipes look delicious so I'll try substituting and see what the results are flavor wise.
@KendraLynch10 If by "diet" you mean calorie restriction or weight-loss then you've entirely missed the point. I didn't say anything about that. Seed oils are extracted with Hexane which is a petroleum based solvent and something that most people would steer clear of if they were aware. IMO there are far better options to put in a yummy dessert but everyone will do as they like.
I would replace the oil with olive oil but I’m also wondering if apple sauce or Greek yogurt would be a good alternative and avoid the oil completely. I would replace the white sugar with monk fruit and maybe omit the brown sugar completely.
I agree! I don’t use canola even if it’s organic. Someone suggested coconut oil, which would probably work great in these. The one I get at Trader Joe’s doesn’t taste like coconut at all! For those who don’t know why- seed oils are highly inflammatory, so they’re really bad for you, and if they aren’t organic they are usually GMO.
I do like it, but it isn't quite as powerful as one that is plugged in. So if you need to use it for something that's harder to mix, it might not mix as well. But for this frosting, it worked really well!
Maybe try canned sweet potatoes and puree them...although I think most are in a sweet syrup so maybe just cook the potatoes and puree. Or I guess you could decrease the sugar to compensate for the canned ones. Drain the syrup off, of course.

"Measure the vanilla with your heart" - YES!♥
I have to have these! Thank you for the recipe!
Cream cheese is by far my favorite ingredient in anything… it can be savory or sweet ❤
Oh, I'm making these after church tomorrow!!!!!

Thankyou kaleb they look delicious ps love your ghosts in the garden ❤️😊
This is hands-down, the most delicious pumpkin bar recipe, and so incredibly easy to make.❤❤❤❤❤
A very similar recipe in our family. However, we add golden raisins to the pumpkin bars!
Yummy 🎃🎃🎃
Using a glass bowl like you are using helps to see what you are doing while pouring the batter.
I love everything and anything pumpkin. They look delicious. Thank you for the recipe.
Thank you Kaleb for your recipe! Thank you for sharing, looks delicious! ❤😊

Homey, warm, traditional. So so good! Mmmmmmm ❤
😋😋😋 can almost smell the goodness, thanks for sharing another slice deliciousness ❤
I'm looking forward to trying them. They look very easy to make but oh so delicious!
Looks delicious! I like to mix all of the dry ingredients together, then add them to the wet ingredients. This ensures that they are evenly mixed.
I am making a cup of coffee and whipping me up a batch of these as I type, thank you so much for all you do love your videos and I share a Recipes with my daughter.
Very delicious
I have the same receipe from lady in Minnesota from 50 years ago.

This recipe looks like the one I've used for many years! Always a treat!😋😋😋😋
I make one every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas.. My family loves it!
These look so delicious, I can only imagine how they smell when baking. I'll try these for our Sunday school class. I also love how you level your flour , I use a knife but then you have an extra item to wash.
Made these today for a family gathering. ❤

This recipe is incredible, so tasty! Made it today, thank you for sharing!
Really excellent explanation of recipe, and very delicious.
This recipe is delicious. I frosted half the bars with the icing and the other half with powdered sugar. It was enjoyed by all ❤️. Thanks for sharing
Yummy but I think it needs pecans on top 😊
Can’t wait to make this! Thanks Kaleb

They look yummy. Fall is definitely the time for awesome pumpkin recipes
I love lemon in it
I made these and they are delicious! I took an idea from another of your pumpkin recipes and added orange zest!
Looks delicious…btw, could you give us some information on your round cutting board…size, type of wood, do you like it? condition it? Thanks so much.
SO GOOD! I happen to have all the ingredients, so when I saw this demonstration I dove right in to baking! Absolutel delish! I should have halved it, but I can freeze it.
I'm trying this recipe for sure. I just have to get a jelly roll pan now.

Wow, that looks so delicious 😋
I will try to make this on Thanksgiving.😊
Making them tomorrow!❤
Looks soooo good.
Thank you for this recipe 😋😋😋
One of my favorite things.
All it needs is a warm cup of apple cider. Yum
Looks good
Looks amazing!!!
Yum yum yum!!
You need to mix the dry ingredients together first before you add to the wet. It blends better.
Where do you order your vanilla beans from ?
My FAVORITE!!! 😋
Ordered your mag. Can’t wait for its arrival.

Yummmm! This will be dessert for next Sunday's Family Dinner.
Oh...a cordless mixer!!! Do you like it? I'm in need of a new hand mixer...
I do like it, but it isn't quite as powerful as one that is plugged in. So if you need to use it for something that's harder to mix, it might not mix as well. But for this frosting, it worked really well!
They look fabulous 😍 I can only imagine how they taste 🤤 😜
I wanted to reach thru 📱& get ine😅😋
Love the wood lids. How do you keep them from getting moldy? For some reason mine continue to mold.
Himalayan pink salt is so much healthier. 🎉
Gotta make Recipe I think I'll add Pumpkin Spice.
I noticed you always use light brown sugar is there any reason why?
Can you use a loaf pan?
What would be the best way to freeze this??? Already frosted, not frosted... Ect...
I don’t have that pan so what’s another alternative?
So, if you can your own pumpkin, why do you use store canned pumpkin? What is your home canned pumpkin used for?
What is neutral oil?
It seems like it's more of a brownie recipe but a pumpkin flavored recipe
😋❤️
You made that shit look easy!
I would add nuts? 😮
I’m surprised people are still recommending and using canola oil in recipes…? Avocado oil would be a healthier oil to use in baking.
We can’t find pumpkin cans here, what can I do?
Maybe try canned sweet potatoes and puree them...although I think most are in a sweet syrup so maybe just cook the potatoes and puree. Or I guess you could decrease the sugar to compensate for the canned ones. Drain the syrup off, of course.
❤❤❤❤🎃🎃🎃🎃❤️❤️❤️❤️
At last someone who says "eat" not taste! We eat cake we don't taste it. It indicates only one mouth full.

Safflower oil is so very unhealthy!
