Tuning in 5ths On A Soprano Ukulele!

I'm excited! this new to me tuning requires a set of strings specifically made for this tuning.
IMPORTANT NOTE! Concert uke 5ths tuning will be CGDA like a tenor banjo or viola.
it also made my dead sounding ukulele come alive and sparkle!

Hi, thanks, useful video!
Sopranos DO sound dead generally, SINCE the convention became to tune them to the C tuning of Concert and Tenor ukuleles, for simplicity and marketing reasons. The body of a Soprano was designed to be tuned a whole tone higher, to the D tuning - A-D-F#-B - and you will see this is the tuning assumed by many old songsheets.
In the C-tuning, the strings simply are not tight enough to bring the Soprano body alive. A single tone higher buts over a quarter more tension into the strings - I forget the exact number, but I used to know - and this puts a vast amount more zing into their vibration, hitting the sweet spot for the Soprano body design.
It is great to hear about this 5ths tuning and the string sets for it. So now there are two ways to overcome the dead sounding, slack-stringed feel of a Soprano tuned to the C-tuning.
I wonder if Bach is more playable in 5ths tuning.
