Great repair! , here is a little tip that might help you in the future, I have done this model so many times, specially top screen replacements.
You just need to pull off the screen ribbon cable, as it is the cable that goes all the way in the center. To do so, first unfix the camera ribbon cable, it is attached by a very simple adhesive to the back of the screen, so it won't get in the way. This will save you much time and will be a lot easier, since the other ribbon cables will act a a sort of pipe that helps to keep the top screen ribbon cable in place.

I get the same feeling that you do when you fix something that’s old and broken, it’s so satisfying. I have a 10 year old Toshiba laptop that fails booting, I replaced the ram, the moniter and the cpu and it still did nothing. I later found out with a bit of research that I have to put flux on the solder joints of the video card and heat it to around 220-230 degrees and it fixed it.

I've done many repairs on phones, tablets, PCs etc and this one was without a doubt one of the toughest repairs I have ever had to make. In fact I told her straight up that I refused to ever fix it again so if she broke it again she would have to buy a brand new one with her own money (I got if for her for xmas). @@Tronicsfix I have bought my first soldering iron about 2-3 weeks ago. I successfully changed a headphone USB cable and a NDS cartridge slot. I know it's not a big deal, but baby steps. I'm waiting for some faulty gameboys to be shipped. So this course just arrived in time for me. You are truly an inspiration! :)

Wow, great repair Steve, that all looked really sensitive work, why do they make these things so hard to repair?! Great video mate!😊

Very nice! I bet there's actually a lot of people out there that would love to swap out their TN screens for IPS ones , assuming parts are available and compatible.

Hey @TronicsFix my ps4 just randomly shuts down and mostly doesn't turns on. Moreover, whenever it turns on and if I plug in my HDMI cable it again turns off. Please suggest the fix required.

Is it possible to just replace that top plastic cover on the top screen that you applied at the end, and not the whole screen itself? that's scratched on a used one i just bought and not too visible when turned on but thought it would be nice to fix up before i gift to my son.

Where were you able to find that for $12? Just looking on ebay, even broken consoles seem super expensive.

I'm always curious how long these repairs take in real time without edits/speedups. Maybe you could put a little annotation on them at the end or in the description when you think of it? You make it all look easy and from experience I know it's often not! :D

I am gonna check out those soldering videos! I knew where my mistakes where when I soldered my sticks into the controller ( plus the iron was so cheap that the ceramic heating element kinda died on me as the tip didn't wanna heat up just the sides of the bit)

I think you can tell a lot about someone's age based on how excited they get with the size of a USB drive or microSD. I too get excited when I find a free 8gb or 16gb microSD card. Even though 64gb cards are $10. I remember when my 64mb thumb drive was $110 on USB 1.1.

Surely you checked off screen that it would work after installing the screen but before cleaning, adding the screen protector, etc.?

    Question.
I tried this same repair but for the bottom screen for the 3ds. When I turn it on it stays black and shuts right back off. I checked all my connections and everything on the board seems to be fine. Any ideas? Thanks please let me know

I hate doing this repair so much. I had to repair a Samus Edition new 3ds xl (a rare version) and my hands were shaking the entire time. Was a miracle I didn't tear any ribbon cables on it.
