Sunday, January 26, 2025 was our 19 Voices in Solidarity fundraiser concert for the ACLU, at the Ivy Room in Albany, CA, produced by our fearless leader and sister in voice, the amazing Deborah Crooks!!
19 incredible female artists and our comrades-in-arms supporting us, on and off the stage! EVERYONE brought their A-plus game and we raised over $1300.00!
It was truly an honor to help raise money for such a hugely crucial organization with a group of such talented, inspirational artists and humans! We even received a message of gratitude and support to be read from Cecelia Wang, the National Legal Director of The ACLU and she sent a representative to speak directly to all of us, SO powerful!
Most of all, it felt SO good to be out there taking direct action through our art to make a difference and fight the good fight during this extraordinarily challenging time in our American and global history! MUCH better than just watching the news and freaking out and complaining about it at home!
It was an unbelievable honor and thrill to close the show with my original song "MOVE ON", co-written w/ Paul Alves, and originally recorded and produced by Louis Loria in NYC in the early '90s. I always knew this song was destined to be an anthem for change and this was a dream come true over 30 years in the making. My gratitude is over-the moon and beyond!!
HUGE thanks to my angel choir of glorious singers: Elizabeth Skow, Lainey McKinlay, Tiffany Callier, and 3 of our 19 Voices in Solidarity castmates, producer Deborah Crooks, Azere Wilson and Elizabeth Stuart of The Stratospheres, and to guitarist extraordinaire Mike McKevitt for bringing my vision for this song to life and facilitating this beautiful dream-come-true moment I was blessed to stand in the middle of and bask in, because of all of you!!
Thanks again to show producer Deborah Crooks , MC Mindi Levine and Ivy Room soundman Paul for doing such a SPECTACLUAR job!!! Truly blessed beyond measure!!!
You can witness the show in its' entirety here: www.youtube.co...
My closing song "Move On" can be viewed from 4:17.06-4:24.27
