I personally have a running theory that there may be on occasion some form of catharsis that happens in an estate sale. Like either you hated them and want to sell their stuff cheap to insult them or you loved them and were jealous of them so you want to shit on them by selling their stuff cheap. But it is probably all just due to how we don't value things we didn't have to earn, as well as the necessity to get the stuff out so you can dodge the mortgage, hoa fees, and taxes that would come from delaying the sale.
But I swear I have seen people specifically target items that were dear to the deceased to be sold at the lowest price. I think anyway you spin it, selling a relative's stuff super cheap is a big insult where you are essentially saying everything they thought was nice was actually worthless in your opinion.
Cole, you did an awesome job, great eye for nice things. I hope you do fantastic on reselling your items. I am not a reseller but love watching others. Great attitude about the eagle, these things happen and always best handled with a kind heart. The prices you were given blew my mind. I hope you get to clean it out and make a video of that too. Thought the same thing. At least pay for the stuff and take it back to your car before going inside. That's an easy way for confusion to take place in regards to other people to think it's still up for grabs.

I loved that oriental statue/figurine That was beautiful. Would love to see you do a clean out. Unless you know someone that you wanted to get a job doing it so you could help out and pick up anything you wanted. It would have been fun watching it. Great haul.

That first sale was very poorly run! But great finds for you. We have very few estate sales around me so I just subscribed to your channel to watch some online.
poorly run are the best. The organize one are hired by third party who uses eBay pricing source.

OMG should have grabbed that FIESTA watermelon dishes on that table---they go BIG BUCKS and there was a 15" pizza tray--worth 300. Plates, bowls, mugs all can go 40 to 70 each.

Make your piles off to the side, out of sight, on the side of the house or somewhere where it won’t be grabbed by others. You can’t stack a pile of the best stuff right in the center of the driveway like it’s on full display, and not expect people to grab it.
All the estate sales near me are priced by a company that looks up highest asks on Ebay, not sold comps. Its impossible to buy anything reasonably.

Felt like that eagle guy was shady. You had it in your pile for a while. If you paid for something you would think you would be grabbing it to load up. I would not have been watching people leaving if I was loading up my sales. I am guessing he set it aside to get money and was coming back in to get it. He probably didn’t pay anything for it and took advantage of how busy they were between 2 sale areas and he wanted it. You got a lot of great deals and if he was dishonest karma will get him in the end!

That guy never bought the eagle 🦅...he was clearly lying and the older lady was totally lost and confused. I would have called his bluff from the start and put the eagle you paid for on video in your vehicle. He had nothing but shady going on.

It looks like you were the last one to enter. With estate sales if you're not first your last. Next time get up a little earlier a few hours earlier and wait and trust me the rewards will be a lot more rewarding

How do you sleep at night buying a cpap machine for 10 dollars not needing it for yourself and then selling it for 450 dollars to someone who really needs it?

When it comes to these types of easte sales. The family wants most of the belongings out of the house. And they price it to move. So that they can sell the house.
They are practically giving that stuff away. And so I would go from room to room and offer a low ball price for every thing in each room. Also, working a yard sale is a lot of work. And at the end of the day. Most Family's just wants it over. f you had the storage, transportation, time and lobor. I would go crazy and buy as much as possible.
The pause when he was asked if it was included in his price said it all.he was trying to scam and he did.i meet some great people saleing..and I also meet some real shifty people.that man was the latter

Look up the same or similar product and see prices
Always price items at $1.00.
