I was checking youtube nearly every day for this and I am so glad to see that they are doing much better! Hope to see you live someday! Love your music!
I found Escape from the Zoo right as I was making the decision to get clean and sober, and their music had such a profound influence on my sobriety and it still does. Watching this has been even more helpful as someone who also has OCD. I've been lucky enough to have the chance to thank Jesse, to hug him, and he is the sweetest person with the most gentle, kind vibes. Thank you Jesse, thank you Escape from the zoo, thank you Fat Mike. Thank you all.
So glad to see this. Only 5m in but they're in that nice honeymoon phase of recovery. I hope they can carry it into the grind of life that comes after and that any relapses are as mild as possible.
no doubt, still getting pink cloud days. i remember when i was like 30,60,90 days clean i thought i was awesome at recovery😅 then life hits and the PILE of problems u made is waiting for u like a cocky ex girlfriend when u see her with a new guy, just waving at you n smiling all evil like "HAHA BTCH, REMEMBER ME?" then the hard part comes when u gotta fix your life lol thats when recovery sucks.....9th step, ugh 4th step 🤢🤮 looking at myself? ugh🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
We need the whole interview Mike :) love you guys so flappy to see you’re doing better stay happy be healthy y’all are inspiring to the world and youth my young son and one year old daughter love y’all so much
They were wasted to the point of not being able to remember what happened on that last podcast? That's crazy, because they spoke really well. When I get that drunk, you can barely understand a word that comes out of my mouth.
This episode was fucking rad because Fatty was actually being serious and discussing a real touchy subject. I love Sam but when he’s in studio he brings the silly side out of Mike. This one is a great.
For lots of folks it seems like there's something going on in the background like OCD in this guy's case. For me it was ADHD. Started on the medication for that and didn't drink another drop.
Alcoholism is almost always a symptom of something else going on in the background. That's why I've imposed a rule on myself to never use alcohol to escape my emotions. It's strictly a fun thing. I've been able to keep that in check.
Lol still not gonna pay for no cap And now I’m not gonna watch this, cause at this point, previews aren’t gonna do anything for me content-wise See you at PID, and I’m not buying a $30 shirt either 😆
Was hoping to hear more about the recovery side of things and not as much the kinky side of things BUT I'm so happy for them both, I did rehab and im 5 years sober this August, best thing I ever did, I hope they both stay strong and im sure jessie has a huge backlog of songs to write expressing the new jessie and Veronica
Goin on 3 and 4 years (me 3 and her 4..respectfully)just taking methadone after years of taking every chance and me OD'ing more times than necessary. Seriously I'm not trying to go back.
I loved rehab. I was 18, the food was great, we took field trips, I met famous ppl, I had a threesome, got in a relationship with a crazy and insanely beautiful asian model who was 29. Oh boy was she dangerously fun.. It was one of the best times of my life 😂
Wow I've been to rehab 27 times and not once did any of them great things happen to me. Instead I usually left early and went and shot dope and under an hour of being out from there so unless you went into rehab with Gary busey I'm going to have to call your bluff 🤣🤣🤣
@@DetroitFettyghost Falmouth Ky 2004. I was only 18, sent too a very expensive rehab. It was less than 2 weeks after my brother died (pretty shitty timing) but he def threw me a bone or 2 lol. The girl was a 10/10 and the horniest person I'd ever met. The other was very pretty too. I wouldn't believe it either man. I didn't start leaving rehabs (the 1st day as well) till a few years after. You want a real fun time go to a state psych ward. Great food, tons of drugs being passed, they give you cigarettes and clothes if you can't afford them and it's co-ed. You literally can do anything and you don't get in trouble. Honestly I wish I could re-live the first rehab experience. *Wish it were Gary Busey, but I met the director of some great independent films and one of the bad guys from the punisher and a cool musician from Detroit. Good dude.
Even if the abstinent life turns out to not be the thing long term, sometimes folks just need to get healthy and have a break from the self abuse. I know thats what got me to 46 alive and mostly well.
Stupidly thought it was gonna be the full episode, f'n bummer... Im sorry I am such a hater on this "no cap show" thing, totally get that this is costing out of pocket, with no sponsors... I just cant and I just dont wanna. Truly sorry Mr. Burkett, not sure why this is SUCH a sticking point with me coming from you on this.
not as if its just an out of pocket expense with no benefit, Mike gets to have the publicity and platform and keep himself relevant, and its not like hes some starving artist who has no money. Ive noticed people dont usually sell out all at once, its gradual, with money becoming just a little more important , eventually passing the fans, and the passion to create, until it is the prime driver behind things. I may have to scrape scrounge and save to make a record, but I know it is 100% what i want to make with no thought to what anyone expects or wants, cuz they didnt pay for shit, i did. Ill take artist purity over $$ any day. I have a job for $$, i play music for passion, if more people did that, we would have way more good music and art / entertainment imo.
@@fedayeentaqx9956 you clearly don't know what selling out is, if you are calling Mike a sell out. Weird to call someone a sell out who did everything on their own and earned the money they have.
I'll go go ahead and reply to my own comment, as my intention was NOT to call Mike a sell-out or claim any such thing. In fact, I kinda regret my comment in the first place... I guess its all just disappointment & frustration that something thats SOOO GOOD (Fat Mikes Fat Mic) cant get a sponsor and ends up become a "hoop jump exercise."
