Fernando was a warrior, his passing has affected me personally. I recall around 4-5 years ago I was driving home to my flat in hamilton. I drove along wellhall road and noticed a man walking slowly down the pavement. As I drove past him I thought that looks like Fernando, surely not? What is he doing walking down the middle of Hamilton? I drove up to the roundabout and circled back, as I approached Fernando I abandoned my car, jumped out and embraced him. I asked where he was going, his speech was struggling at this point, he pointed down the road and was determined to keep going. I hugged him really hard, thanked him for everything he done for Rangers, I held back the tears I wasnt showing my weakness because Fernando sure as hell wasnt. This moment has stuck with me all these years and it was a honour to meet Fernando personally. A True fighter to the end and an inspiration to us all. Thank you Fernando and Rest in peace
