Hi Kevin, Just wanted to say that I'm really thankful that you share those great videos with us. I'm happy to see someone living my dream and I hope that when I grow up I'll be as good at snowboarding as you are. (sorry if I did mistakes at writing. I'm German :D)
Hi Kevin, Great Video and thanks for the info. I just have one quick question on my riding. When I am trying to speed through a run, I am not sure whether to try to keep my base flat and steady or try to alternate edges and do a very shallow carve. I end up usually getting very unstable and washing out. If you could tell me which is the correct technique I would appreciate very much. Thanks
Hey Kevin. Thanks for all the great videos. They are really good, helpful & great to watch. I am (I suppose) an intermediate boarder. I've boarded about 1 week per year in Europe (about 7 weeks in total). I seem to need a bit of a confidence boost at the beginning of each of these weeks but no matter how much I try & improve I still have an inane fear of narrow runs, particularly if they have a drop on one or both sides. just like in your video part 5. I just clam up & almost come to a stop & then lean back.......worst thing to do. Have you any tips for this narrow run riding or is it just a case of 'suck it up' & practice practice practice???
hi Kevin, with which foot do you ride. for example to test this they pushed me I steped forward with my right foot. they said i ride with my right and they did my bindings accordingly. the snowboard instructor said the left foot should always be in front
Thanks for the videos Kevin! They really help. Just finished a day in Austria and heading to YVR on business next week. Have a day at Whistler planned. Do you teach classes at Whistler or Blackcomb?
great video and will definitely help with my large turns on narrower runs. I have a question though: I've not been snowboarding for around 9 months, when i stopped i had about 20 hours experience on an indoor slope and 20ish hours on a mountain, will i struggle when i go back to boarding? i was making lots of progress and could do a few basic tricks like ollies, nollies, i caught air 5 or 6 times off piste on the mountain, and managed 2 or 3 Italian black-runs without injury... should i re-take any lessons or just go back to riding like normal? also, how long will it take me to be able to ride with reasonable confidence again? thanks :)
Hey Kevin, I'man intermediate snowboarder and I'm not confident on really steep slopes because if I catch an egde I don't know what's gonna happen. Any tips on falling on steep slopes? Also, I wanted to know how to ride at very high speeds / how to adapt your position.
Could you please explain me how you ride from 1:20 to 1:25. It looks to me like you go flat, but you always says to use your edges. and if you use your toes edge how you do it so to looks so flat and go so straight? Thanks
Kev I was nipping the rusty sheriffs badge just watching you go across that ridge at 1:15 onwards....very scary, looked big drops either side? you edited out there ...did you spill?
Great video again, love your videos.. They're extremely helpful! I've a question! :) I'm heading to Morzine, France in February and I'm struggling, slightly. I have everything but goggles. I know different lenses are for different light and such. I was wondering if anyone has been to Morzine before and what they wore? Or if anyone could guess? I'm still kinda new to snowboarding. I'm thinking of blue lense goggles, or maybe rose I've looked at. Any help is appreciated.
You have such good snow there. During last Week I was in alps and there were NO SNOW. You should teach us how to snowboard on pure ice or grass. Lol . Nvm my holiday was just fkedup.
Hi what casi level are you and how much is your pay i know its a very private question and i respect it if you dont answer but it would be very helpful to know as i am looking into becoming a sonwboarding instructor
I'm having trouble controlling my speed on narrow trails. Especially when there's a lot of traffic, I find I can't slow down very easily. It can sometimes be hard to initiate a turn when there's no room. Any advice?
Hey great video again :) , I have a question: I'm at Breck right now, and i am having trouble turning in moguls. I always first try turning like I'm carving, balance centered, and putting more pressure on my front foot as I'm starting the turn and more pressure on the back foot as I'm exiting the turn. But, I can never seem to get the board around in time and end up always reverting back to sliding with my back foot (like a windshield wiper). When I do this though my balance gets thrown off though and I always fall at some point). Any tips? Also, I am riding a GNU Rider's Choice with GNU Rider's Choice bindings centered on the board, and the bindings are at about 15 ish degrees (whatever is the standard is) BTW we just got dumped on today in Breck, so I'm looking forward to shredding some powder tomorrow :D
Hi Ray. I was wondering if you solved this? I'm having the exact same problem turning to toe-edge in moguls. When I start the turn my edge ends up locking in like I'm carving (not my intention!), and either I'm going too slow to complete the turn so fall over, or I just can't get the board around, end up going straight and pick up too much speed and crash out. If I try to whip the back of my board around for a quicker turn I end up catching the edge. I'm not so bad on heel-side turns in moguls/steeper terrain - they're not pretty, but I can get away with it. But not the toe-side :(
How do I keep my feet from becoming sore? I have loose over my foot, and tight on my leg. I've been doing it this way for about 3 years now, sometimes it's works, sometimes it doesn't. Any tips?
Getting ready for my second day riding tomorrow. These videos really help my techinque and form while riding. Keep up the good work Kevin.
Great tips. Also tips from other your videos like visualizing your turn and counting in your head helped me a lot. Good Job!
