You know what I think ? They wanted to bring Zoey to the very end... That's why they didn't trigger all the lasers instantly at the end, just progressively from the back on the room to give her extra seconds to escape !

Gestapo never found it because they were searching under blackout conditions so they never thought to check the light switch.
