UPDATE 11/25! Characters should no longer get Experience Debt during sanctioned PvP events such as Caravans, Guild Wars, and Node Wars, unless those characters are Corrupted
In its current iteration, i just go to a different game to PvP. I dont want to spend 6 hours grinding off xp debt because I decided to defend a caravan, or because I lost a 1v2.
I used to play this game called conquer online what also was open world pk they had a similair system but some keys differences: - there where 4 states and 4 pvp modes (white, flashing blue, red, black) - 4 pk modes u can toggle peace(not being able to dmg others even flashing players) “Capture.” Wont pk anyone except flashing players and black names(basicly default in world setting) defende yourself without gaining pkp. Team pk mode to pk everyone except team mates. And finally pk mode to be able to dmg everyone and anything around you -white normal players who havent engaged in any combat recently killing one. Makes u gain 10pk points Blue flashing name. Your name flashes when first attacking another player thats not in combat in combat flashing players can be targeted by other players without them becoming flashing. Flashing stops when out of combat for 2 minutes - red (30+pkp)drops 1-2 pieces of gears and white players can kill them and only gain 3 pk points. , -black named players(50+) They drop 2-5 equipment on death cant enter city because guards will kill them. Get signifficant larger death penalty. And olayers dont receive pkp killing them. When killed by a guard in a city u go to jail map. A map with other black bames duking it out and u only can leave jail when your not black name anymore and havent died for 30minutes. And other players can freely enter the jail house and kill the black in there to strip them of gear . Only ways u can get rid of pkp is with a special amulet made in game(rlly hard to make) or a very rare drop(under 1%) and the other ways are killing black names. And last method is time. U gain 10pkp per kill for white names.3 for red 0 for blacks. Black named players loose about 3 points pkp for killing another black. And u lose about set amount of pkp in a hour dont know the exact number but a black named player can be hours away from going white . And its hard with ppl attacking u. In most cases ppl dont wanna go black but in that perticular game there was one person whi pushed the boundaries one time and became the eternal black name. His rampaged crippled his account because he couldent enter cotys for months and was basicly a outcast killed so many people and had a insane accumulated bounty on their head from the bounty system so ventures to populated areas werent a option anymore and due to their lack of being able to farm they got behind and eventually not a threat for the community. By the time they where white named.
I think ashes can take away alot from this system also forgot to mention all death by player kill hase exp death . And player killer gain. That amount of exp lost.
"I don't deserve you" Bro you're putting on the effort, I'm following you because you've done enough to merit it ! accept it, we'll watch your content now because it is good and well thought !
With these kinds of systems, you have to play the tape through. This will just make every engagement "uneven". Players will min/max the fun out of anything difficult in favor of not suffering penalties. It rewards the rich while punishing the poor. These kinds of systems kills games like these because they fall into a vicious feedback cycle (lemons problem).
The whole thing is if these systems kill games, devs will be too afraid to attempt to innovate because of potential failure. Then we are stuck with the same ole boring games we have now. I believe it can work, its just going to take a lot of fine tuning. As far as the uneven thing, pvp in any game is rarely even🤣🤣
Kinda wish if the leader flags for pvp everyone in the party does :P so u dont have the weird situation of cleric not hitting the button and isnt healng and all that. But definetly need an option to be abl tro auto flag when u try hitting a purple aka fight back. Attacking a red as a greed should make u purple too tbh since u are basicly opting into pvp when u intiiate an attack
I could imagine raiders will have 2 hours of exp debt as well. Maybe make the success of caravans, downing a raid boss, etc. reward above avg. xp to off set the avg xp. lost. For each event.
Most people are scared to PVP since the punishments are too high for them. But I believe Intrepid will make some adjustments and make it less punishable but not too low. Overall, the combat during PVP is actually smooth so far. Responsive and feel better. Although it needs some adjustments but it's very good for an alpha. Anyway, great video, Roar!!
I feel like my videos either get shown to the world, or to no one 🤣. Never in between. Either way thanks dude! Hope your ashes adventures are going well!
All kinds of PvP are worthless right now except for very specific scenarios or for fun, hopefully Intrepid realizes this mistake sooner rather than later.
I honestly dont like how the flagging works at all. Id rather unflagged players can fight back but killing unflagged players doesnt give corruption right away. Corruption as i envision it is either killing (insert number) of unflagged players within a certain timeframe, killing people a certain amount of levels below you, or killing the same people over and over again. I think running past people, killing them and moving on should be fine BUT that would also mean changing the death penalty for unflagged players. Regarding the death penalty for unflagged players: If killed by another player while unflagged you get no exp penalty and drop less loot than if you were flagged yourself. But hey, thats just my opinion.
First thing, if you die once during leveling because someone surprised you wont lose 6hours of grinding. Youll most likely lose 10 to 30 minutes tops. But I agree that on caravan events or guild war/sieges the exp debt should be reduced. Maybe not zero, but less than it is right now
@@drezaoc I'm not worried about random deaths here and there while playing the game. I'm more worried about getting punished by repeated deaths within systems that are designed to make you die 🤣

karma systems dont work, just a big waste of time trying to change it. but the games a scam anyway so who cares.

The voices in that clip 😂 So good.
Fast forward Vlhadus!
Generally I agree, but I would keep the penalty for killing more than idk 4 level lower player.

Having fun and testing the game is fun.
There should be no XP debt for sanctioned events... People are less likely to PvP during Caravans and Node wars because its an unnecessary risk.
Exp debt on festive from pvp events are confirmed to be s bug. Steven said pvp events will be fixed soon

@@Roarrior on that point I totally agree.
Its like Archeage PVP so its good.
To much death penalty will result in low pop for the game no one has time for this shit sorry
I love it, if dieing does nothing then it has no meaning
