Regarding the ability to switch targets while charging up an ability, I completely agree with you. And it's the same with damaging abilities. As a ranger, the ability to switch targets while channeling Snipe or Headshot is absolutely needed.
Great Video as always! You are build different Doc. Sharing knowledge of the ways of one self instead of giving guidance in one way is balm for the soul!
My top tips for Cleric which 99% don't use or don't know about... 1. Mousevover healing. With a lot of mana regen being tied to weapon combos healing with mouseovers is a significant improvement. With Bless Weapon our basic attacks also do a lot of damage. Have been solo healing Steelbloom Citadel and I'm sitting at full mana while keeping the whole group topped the majority of the time. I'd go as far to say that unless you are taking an insane amount of punishment mana is a none issue. 2. Purify. Purify. Purify. This is especially true in PVP where there are so many synergies associated with various debuffs but one of your most valuable buttons is Purify and I see so few people taking it. It hurts me a little how underutilised this ability is. 3. Flash Cure. This may be an obvious one but Flash Cure should always be your go to heal. It prevents you interupting your weapon combos so it is immensely valuable. Don't sit and channel a full Deliverance when a Flash Cure will do. You lose damage and mana regen otherwise. 4. Raid Frames. This goes along with mouseover healing a little but it's a lot easier to use than the standard party frames. Currently it's a bit annoying to get in a normal group but you have to open the hud editors and close it again to get it to show. 5. Cast inbetween weapon combos. Whenever a weapon combo goes off, this is your time to cast. If everyone's full health or close to it chuck in a Communal Restoration and a Soothing Glow on the tank. The game is very bursty right now so keeping everyone topped is important. Awesome vid though! Especially the point on Defiant Light, it's super strong and very underutilised right now. Love the content style, keep it up.
Right now a combination of Judgement as an opener, Smite and a fire finisher configured wand, is a little bit OP damage-wise. You can get 100% burning up-time, triggering 6s conflagrations every smite, which is every 10s, if you are in melee range, with instant smites. The better you get at wanding, the more the burning damage stacks up and then conflag hits really hard.
Since the game is down I don't have the names of spells, but I primarily use the circle golden disc as tank heal. I berate players if they are in voice to stay out of it otherwise the heal gets split up between players most not needing the heal. Some melee, and bards running in and out to shield the tank can split up that heal, but mostly it's fine. The HoT you mentioned you can refresh is great, the HoT that prevents death is a nice clutch save but has a 30s CD so I don't keep it going. The flash forward cone AoE can also heal with an additional point. That with the group heal is also a HoT and a slight shield as well, good for keeping a party topped up. Also consider the divine power instant cast (wasn't working last weekend). Which made that long cast super strong heal Judgement? an instant cast if you needed it to finish sooner. You could also insta res as well, but the animation was still played effectively eliminating the instantness of it. That new 30s CD nerf to res is super annoying because before that I could get 2 people up in practically the same time as 1 cast. Lastly, make sure to use blessed weapon on your tank (or self if soloing) to help keep your mana full and do extra auto-attack damage.
Once again great video, thanks for touching upon the tank xp depth part.. Been gathering up more than 200% xp death during two weeks testing while fellow mage there may be died once... Oh and great.. Will def check for Defiant Light.. Thanks!
Great video burns! Love the mouse reviews because I was just looking into this 😅. I am seriously considering cleric for phase two but worried about artisan and world navigation. Surely an artisan video soon
Lol, your mouse progression is exactly the same as mine but I'm still on the 12 button. As a Cleric, this was a great insight into how others are using the Archetype.
I didn't really wanted to play Cleric, but i do and it's a blast. Other tips might include casting between finisher for followthrough (and blessing in solo) and flash Cure + infusion on resurect. I found soothing not worth it though (in PvE at least), as it is not very efficient, you get a lot of wasted heal on overheal (especially on 2 bard 1 cleric comp with their hot and shield), and you need 2 points to stack it. I didn't know it crit thou, and that a crit is conserved like that, it might make it interesting and i will reevalute it.
5:00 I disagree, I charge a deliverance or judgement on the main tank, switch to a fighter taking AoE damage and pump him with Flash cure and switch back to main tank by the time the charged heal goes off for followup refresh of HoTs
So glad to see the mouse stuff too :D! I use the same mouse for couple years (for fps i use the razer basilisk ultimate) and I love it, wanna upgrade to the new one when its more avaiable. The 12 butten i can't get used to, i need something to rest my thump against and it does not go for me yet :p
Great vid. Nice to see you on Resna. Where was your mouse review a couple months ago?!lol.. I was wondering what ppl were using, that's gonna definitely up my game! ✊🏾💯

Great video and thanks for talking about the Razer - its the mouse I use. What button are you using for auto attack? My default has been '1' since I can hit it with my thumb and use the other spells/skills with the other side keys.
@@TheCopiumClinic I used that configuration the first weekend and I'll try again this weekend. (Perhaps mapping LMB to Shift RMB) Keeping a spell space open on the layout just bugged me.

If Im a high level cleric and I want to take my lower level friends to higher lvl mobs. Does the cleric have flat or % defensive buffs? Otherwise if you are just healing non stop you can only heal so much..
Wait people aren't using defiant light?, that's the best one. Especially for healers lower level than their party. It heals based on the targets HP, and not based on your own power iirc so, it's just as effective for a level 5 healer to slap it on a level 25 as a level 25 on a 25. Now obviously you shouldn't have a level 5 healer running around level 25's but my point stands. Plus its an early HOT, so it should be common right? Hots are great because they are leave and forget, usually that person is good for a while so you can focus on others, or throw out some damage.
Doc, you are preaching about tanks getting less xp debt. I die 100% more than the rest of my party, especially since it's in Alpha, and things happen. Also, you can see the difference in your fight with Envious. Instead of just taunting and bad-mouthing each other and the opponent (That can't even hear you), you all worked as a team and used great callouts. How it should be. Keep on ruling Verra, my dude.

Use the mouse-over option in game play settings, it allows you to heals whomever you have your cursor over in your party/raid frames.
