I want one of these, but Dongar is out of stock. I have a Challenger too, 2020 1320. I would want a FT connection. There are power adapters that shut off if the power drops below a certain level.
Keep an eye on it. They restock frequently. They didn't have an adapter for my Edge ST so I had to do the old fashioned wiretap method, it works but it's way less precise.
As for the FT power on, I'm not sure your best option there, they do make dash cams with batteries so you could get one of those that records when motion is detected. I know you cam make one of the 12V in the car always on by switching a fuse but then you'd have to run a cable up the A pillar like I had initially.
You could also use a multimeter to see if any of the wires up in that mirror cable are always hot and then use a simple tap with capacitor like this one that I used on my edge amzn.to/3P6bPlj
@@VanquishedAgain Some manufacturers make a FT power kit that connects to either the OBD2 port or the fusebox/battery and shuts down below a certain voltage. I just hoped that there was a solution where I didn't have to run a lot of cable and in the case of the OBD2, run a chance of having some issue with the ECM. I got an email from Dongar that they're back in stock and I awaiting reply from their support as to the nature of the connection.
@@VanquishedAgain Emailed with Kevin or Dongar. I think what I am going to do is use the Dongar with a Nexar One. It has a built In Battery. It would be a much cleaner install.

What dash cam do you have? Also how do you know what dash cam will hook up to this adapter?
Hey. So this adapter puts out a USB A which means any USB can connect to it. I have a B40/A118C in this video but recently changed to a viofo A119C either way this adapter will work since it outputs the USB-A (the big one) and pretty much all dash cams come with that cable to their required port (usually USB-Mini or USB-Micro). My dash cam is USB-Mini. There are a bunch of converter cables too. So you can always make it work

is there a way to remove the wires? wanted to change the mirror but don't know how to take it out without messing up the wires completely
You can unclog the wires from the mirror, it's one 10-pin plug.

It should, as long as you have the auto dimming mirror, the clips may be in a different place though.
Same thing happened to me after watching a video, ended up removing that metal stud from the windshield as well 🤣
