Jimmy, I hope you don't let all the haters get to you! I as well as many many others LOVE Your work and your videos. I would hate for you to ever say "screw it" and stop posting. Ignore the trolls and let them get back to their reality TV and Dancing with the Stars. More people should learn how to "make"! The country would be a better place. Great job, and thanks for shareing, and inspiring!
Thank you for this it means a lot !
jimmydiresta
They look like nice stools to me.
you could probably make a whole 2x4 with the amount of sawdust that's sitting in Jimmy's lungs by now....
How does Jimmy make a circle out of a square? he removes the parts that aren't round. Simple genius.
Thank you all for the positive comments ! Please subscribe to my channel for more fun builds !!
genial
Cool taper sled. Like the wedge idea...
Look for the channel w "I make"plate. This google make it confusing somehow I have two accounts ?!!
big shot again your nice chair Sir Jim...
new shop Jimmy? nice job . TU cheers
I like the way you made the legs in differing widths to allow all the blanks to be cut from the same template and joined on a single edge. Prior proper planning :)
great looking stools Jimmy =)
nice!!!
Saw one of these stools in person today at the Bulleit bourbon workshop and it seems to be standing up to abuse really well. I'm a firefighter and made a false alarm today in a warehouse full of Bulliet and Dickell signs and bars and trailers so I asked if they had any pieces Jimmy had made and they said he actually works out of their shop from time to time. Pretty cool guys and left with some nice swag.
+kyfirefighter haha funny story !!! thank you for the support!!
This is amazing but I have to ask, "How do you deal with all the sawdust boogers?"
I would love a DiResta stool sample.
be careful of what you ask for - he may "ship one out" for you...
drstampfli
lol indeed.
TheDutyPaid
hahaha...double doody
i wish someone would commission you to build a tiny house! i would LOVE to see what you come up with.
Never thought of using plywood for a stool. Great idea. New shop?
Nice Project. You've just given me an Idea what to make for my local Hackerspace. Thanks for the inspiration. :)
thank you ! you're welcome!
One of the best shop stools projects I've seen Jimmy. Bad ass. Thanks for showing how to make them.
"if your good at something never do it for free" -the joker
Video has not been sped up. You are seeing real time speed of Jimmy Diresta
it's always a pleasure watching you create something. another inspiring video!
jimy very nice. How do you use a cleaning tip. What is the name. Where can I find the knives?
Love your new shop, more space and lots of light. Ever notice that no matter how many benches you build, you still end up building on your table saw? Glad to see it's not just me.
oddly enough, this video sounds like a dentists office.
Thanks for another awesome video, Jimmy! Do you actually every just buy furniture or do you custom make or refurbish everything you have?
1st. you should have a degree in engineering. 2nd, you should have a degree in cinematography. Best building videos on the web hands down. I would pay to hang out and build with this guy!
hahah thank you !
I am amazed to see someone use a jig saw without drilling holes first. I was taught this back in 8th grade. I have taught people how to use the jig saw in this manor and surprised nobody knew how to start a hole with a jig saw. Notice the front edge of the jig saw plate, it is built to cut holes without a drill.
they have plunge cut blades, but if you re-watch the video he drills pilot holes on all of the legs he cuts from the template.
Daniel Rezaiekhaligh PILOT HOLES are not necessary if you know what you are doing, and ypu don't need a special blade except when cutting holes under 3 inches. Drilling pilot holes is just added tome to what you are doing, time is money.
love these! great work
LOOK OUT HERE COME'S DiResta JIMMY DiResta SHAKEN NOT STIR.
Mais um show desse cara, e gosto muito da simplicidade, tipo o jig para cortar as pernas do banco simples e objetivo sem muitas bugigangas.
It seems like he just eyeballs everything, which is incredible to me. Great video!
I need to learn the table saw trick of cutting out a circle. I saw this first in Jimmy's saw table tips and tricks.
Good afternoon diresta. Good afternoon Jimmy sir. Wonder stool. 28may2018.14:58time .Mahesh gupta sliding Windows worker. Degree in my small finger(in hand).15:00time.
The way he cut the seats was genius.
It sure is but it's pretty known and used metod.
***** Is it really? I've never seen it done before.
Munymuny200 It is. I've seen that before more than few times, most were porr quality videos with few views, but I can remember seeing Matthias wandel and I believe Steve Ramsey.
Munymuny200
*porr=poor
WHY ARE YOU SUCH A GENIUS AAARGH no but seriously jimmy how do you just throw stuff together that happens to llok that great. also some backstory on why you have moved shop kinda? please!
0:31 Don´t F...k me man 8-o "JIG SAW JEDI"
they look like they will still be strong in 100 years
I think it is so cool the way you make those round cuts on the table saw. Gotta try that for myself.
NEVER wear gloves woodworking! As stated before, there have been many serious accidents room doing this. Just my two cents as a plant manager for 30 + years.
It would be nice if you have that space for your workshop. It does look great.. Besides, Jimmy, You did a fantastic job on the stools!! Keep up the great work..
Nice stools but pretty wasteful of materials. Maybe you improve the design/cost by using half the quantity of boards. e.g. join top and cross-pieces to side-pieces (to make each side) and use lengths of 1x1" inside each corner to strengthen it?
if he were to do it that way he wouldn't have been able to replicate the sides in such short order.
Ah,a nice place to sit down. I've never seen anyone who makes as many doorstops as you man. Do you have any project you use some of them on?
This is exactly what should be taught in schools. How to make everyday objects, instead of buying crap that is imported. Keep up the great work.
Just a question if you don't mind. Did you use the whole sheet of plywood to make just two stools? Is it cost effective>
Great video, by the way.
Thank you for sharing.
....the ply wood was 25 $ the video has been seen by 1000s of people and i assume has inspired a few of them.. yes. thank you for watching and commenting.
Sawing with gloves is extremely dangerous, because when you accidentaly saw in your hands you won't have a clean cut, your gloves will rip your hand apart, unless you have a sawstop ;) but i bet not everyone is having one..
+Niek Houterman been there done that.
Funny how it's called stool and not bar chair or high seat or anything like that.
Because in German a chair is called Stuhl and is almost pronounced like stool. Only we say Shtool.
It looks like both stools are made entirely out of one sheet of ply, that's great! Now get a cnc router and you can go into production... superb videos, thanks
Holy shit that jog for cutting circles at the tableware. I’m sorry if I sound dumb but I’m new ar this and that was mind blowing.
This is a very good way to teach people patterning skills. once you made the first you could replicate it to make as many stools you needed. I love the technique to make the circular tops also.
Awesome, many thanks for your efforts and video's, You are great maker. Absolutely talented.
Great project. One question comes to mind. With all the nails & screws involved, is the glue really needed?
Why is everyone an expert and critical? I thought it was a good build. Anyone can go out and buy a stool. How many people can make their own? Great job Jimmy as always.
thank you brother!
Exactly. As if they are can do better.
Exactly, as if they can do better than Jimmy.
i thought you would not spam DIRESTA on the stools but in the last few seconds you proved me wrong
Do you have much trouble with the cordless nailers? Where I live the altitude seems to mess with the pressures sometime and they miss fire occasionally...
damn those look sturdy. could probably support a car with those.
Did you move to a new shop? Your videos are usually filmed in the DiResta dungeon, LOL!
Subscribed. Awesome work. Keep it up despite the idiots and haters.
That router sounds like a dentist drill. No wonder I hate the dentist - he's routering my teeth at 3x normal speed.
I always impatiently await your uploads like a crack addict!! Im turning into a crazy stalker fan! Damn you Diresta!
hahah love to hear this THANK YOU
dude you have a talent like none other and the way you film your videos is unique I have to meet you!! time to take a trip to NY!!
That's a clever way to cut a circle on the table saw, but the buildup of scraps could get a little dangerous.
This video was obviously slowed down as normal humans cannot see how fast Jimmy actually works
You still the man Jimmy. Great build.
look at all those space ! hehe now u can stretch before work =D
Great example of production woodworking. This is the 2nd one of your vids that made me feel seasick though, turning the speed down to 1/2 helped. Maybe I'm a just a wuss, no one else mentioned it.
Seriously Jimmy Diresta, can I just hang out with you for a day? I
don't mean to be that guy. UT there's like 15 stools in the background
Very nice looking stools. Also they appear to be very solid and will server their purpose well.
Nice tapering sled. They look strong enough to hold your brother!
If you had put a square top on them, you could have made them stack better for out of the way storage.
Jimmy did you paint your tools white. Thanks love your work
Nice...if only we could make things at the same speed as the video...lol
That is cool. But i wish it was done with reclaimed wood like u used to.
he should have built a damn workbench he needs that more rather than building on a saw stop table saw
jimmy déjeme decirle que eres muy inteligente y ademas todo un artista, mis respetos.
I wonder was that wood boards have already be in white colour or you painted them before?
awesome as always but if I was at a brewery I would just tap a keg and sit on that ;)
Waoooo as simple as that ..... you could be a great neighbor to have....lol
These stools look a lot like the drunken woodworker's. His video is on his channel.
You make everything look so easy.
Good Job !! btw I would have hidden the screws
not for shop stool maybe a dinner stool
That was a great project .....
just a small question .....
I have a cnc machine and lots of HDF scrap wood ....do you think its durable using HDF for a Stool ?
Hi
Love it Jimmy! New shop? :)
Learn something new on every video. Jimmy, you are a master craftsman and an artist. A true inspiration. Btw, I hope this new shop isn't permanent. Nothing like the LES.
I love watching these videos just for the "What the frak did he just do" factor
Is it just me or is there a fish eye effect? Kind of annoying.
***** ya thats annoying
That's the effect you get from a go pro or other small camera. They have very wide lenses which give them the "fish eye" effect.
oh i did not know that
you're like a DJ spinning those stool tops
I can't do this new trend( beyond trendy) super sped up production. If the audio wasn't there might be tolerable, probably not. I know you are all putting a lot of editing in, maybe more then is needed.
+Jimmy Pinzenscham many might agree i started the "trend"... you want spoon feed information go to the wood whisper .. thank you for your opinion
Never thought to make circles with a jig like that. Here I was cutting them out with a jig saw and sanding them down... This is a hell of a lot less tedious and definitely more accurate. Great work as always.
Izzy Swan will make a stool similar to it and power it with a drill... LOL ;)
i think your due for a dust collector.
nice strong stool's.
Loving the angle cutting sled with the wedge clamp. Simple, effective, not over-engineered. An economy of design, which the best jigs are.
Great build! How many sheets of 4X8 ply per stool? I need one for my shop and I like the idea of not having to do all the mortise and tenoning and then worrying about it breaking apart!
Thanks for sharing
Jimmy don't Diresta on those chairs please!!!
Happy Hour, pull up a stool.
damn are you good at everything you do
I love that at the beginning of the vid when Jimmy is using the radial arm saw, a sticker is placed on the saw that states something like "use eye protection when USEING this saw" lol.
Good idea, will have to make yourself a chair.
Wearing gloves while using a table saw is a bit concerning.
Circular cuts on a table saw, insane! Lots of nice technique in this video; Great work Jimmy!
Love that circle cutting on the table saw, you inspire me to keep learning!! Awesome!! (A Sawyer's Wife)
hey jimmy :) could you make another guitar stand please? the other one was awesome but i would really love to see a standalone guitar stand :) please and thank you :)
Nice stools I need some. Thanks for the ideas. Love your videos just found them a couple days ago. Thanks so much for all your ideas.
I really like your angle jig with the shim for a clamp. Quick, secure, and repeatable. I like the way you think.
Bulleit Bourbon has a wood shop? I WANNA WORK THERE TOO!!! haha
Nicely done. Do you have plans for sale or for free?
