Again Jimmy, I love your ingenious ways to help keep your shop "work". I myself work outta my truck and work trailer and have collapsing sawhorses that dont take up much room but these stackables are bang on.
At the DiResta R&D Laboratories, we are always looking for new ways to get more out of your day. For example, the table saw was at normal speed. With speed improvements like that, you can have 3 days' work done before Happy Hour at the local watering hole. DiResta Labs - Making working fun!
Really neat and slim saw horses that are truly stackable. Normally they tend to be of an design that actually take up equal space of an table or a workbench. Rally nice.
The thing I like best about Diresta vids is that he'll start doing something and I have to scratch my head thinking, "what the crap is he doing?" and then 30 seconds later it will click and I get this great "OH! That's what that's for!" moment.
hola diresta felicitaciones por tus buenos trabajos y enseñanzas quisiera que me explicaras como hago esa guía para la sierra para hacer esos cortes inclinados gracias
+Eli Kia All you have to do is find the right angle. Assuming the blade is sharp enough. And don't run the blade across your arm in a slicing motion, use a pushing/scraping type movement. When done properly its hard to cut yourself no matter how sharp the knife.
How many layers of black paint does your DIRESTA stencil have on it now after all these projects over the years? :) Or do you use a new one each project?
Thanks for showing us what you were making them all for. Haven't seen your brother in awhile. Hope he's ok and the two of you are good? You gonna have him do a guest appearance on this or one of your other channels?
Love the simplicity Jimmy DiResta & love the free-styling. But is it bad that my ADOLST (Attention Deficit Oh Look Shiny Things) is so bad that I even find myself skipping ahead on a super fast DIRESTA video lol
HOW DO U FIGURE OUT YOUR CUTS? DO U SEE/VISUALIZE THEM AHEAD OF TIME OR DO U WRITE ALL THE STEPS DOWN? I'VE OFTEN WONDERED HOW YOU FIGURE OUT WHAT FINISH OR COLOR SCHEME U R GONNA USE.
I was walking in to lowes 3 days ago and just by chance walked past their saw horses very much like these. The fact I even saw them was Luck but they were $19.98 each. But you built 8 what was your cost I'm betting less then $40.
It's common practice to have you name on your tools and equipment when you work in a shop so there aren't any mix ups, It's probably just something he's gotten used to doing.
He sort of explained why he does it in a video, he something along the lines of "Companies brand there name on there stuff why shouldn't I". Nothing wrong with being proud of his name/work.
Daniel Faust I agree there is "nothing wrong with being proud of his work/name" i just feel that stencilling his name on things he had no hand in the manufacture of like the power tools and such just reek of ego running wild.
Jet came in a package deal bunch of stuff, still never used it.. Ricon is okay but ALL power tools turned kinda shitty in late 70's, i often look for used equipment .. larger stuff on bases etc..
I do not see how these are stackable unless each sawhorse is slightly narrower than the one on top of it. The end braces would not allow them to stack if they are identical in size. You would have to keep track of which sawhorse is in use and which ones can be stacked. While the design is simple, the application is over complicated.
Good morning diresta. Good morning Jimmy sir. I am sliding Windows worker from2004 thane and kalwa city ( mumbai ). Some people fighting with bad taking at work site and the other areas ( like my home area vishnu Nagar digha ) should be note is oxygen message in my brain. A. ..........04may 2018.09:44time.
I enjoy and learn from your videos, but PUULEASE don't take any more tape measurements on top of a circular saw with the unguarded blade running (at 1:38 & 1:54). I realize that many professionals prefer to run their circular saws without a blade guard in the interest of saving time and will not argue that point. But being distracted and doing other operations on top of the running saw is just plain scary. I believe that there is a name for such people - LEFTY. I sincerely hope that you will accept my critical remarks in the spirit in which they were intended. I want to see many more of your great videos.
Based on 6:07, I'll take that action. Look again at the surface area the glue covers, add in the screws, the end caps, and the pin nails. I'll bet that they can hold 300 lbs each without collapsing.
Its called self branding. Jimmy doesn't work for a company, so he puts a lot of work into getting his name out there so that when people think of a contracting job, they might think of his name and give him a call.
Amra All of that is true. It's also easy, immediate, unquestionable identification of what belongs to who on a jobsite. If you've ever worked a construction site, no matter how big or small, you quickly realize that things that aren't marked in big, bold letters that stand out "sprout legs and walk away."
absolutely! and he is doing online videos, so , why advertise others, advertise YOUR name, and for people that see you in your shop or working out in public! name recognition!-BRANDING!
Hell yeah, always great to be able to punch out a bunch of these suckers on the quick and cheap... come in handy... hell, not to mention that you could sell these on the low and still make bank... Great Video!!!
Again Jimmy, I love your ingenious ways to help keep your shop "work". I myself work outta my truck and work trailer and have collapsing sawhorses that dont take up much room but these stackables are bang on.
Was at Lowes tonight after seeing this video and they had a set of sawhorses that looked exactly like these. Always love seeing your videos Jimmy.
Sawhorses are as old as dirt but Diresta comes up with a fresh take and new design. The best.
Jimmy, you make some awesome projects and make them seem so simple. Thanks for sharing with us.

Only you could make watching sawhorses being built extremely entertaining...your videos rock!!
DiResta Videos
You, always teaching
Me, always learning
Thanx
I seriously would watch you make just about anything. Lol ... I can't wait for warm weather again so I can get out to my shop! Keep it up Jimmy!
Brilliant indeed. The economy of motion is superb

Nice Jimmy, see you shop at lowes with your eyes! These things were ridiculous at lowes.
I lost it when you nailed on the end caps. Great design.
Jimmy, yours and Lar's streams are the cat's meow I enjoy watching you both keep it up lol👍
Jimmy DiResta, #1 consumer of spray paint.
Love the design. Like clamps, I usually never have enough.
These are great Jimmy - the angle cuts on the 2x4s was really clever.
hola diresta felicitaciones por tus buenos trabajos y enseñanzas quisiera que me explicaras como hago esa guía para la sierra para hacer esos cortes inclinados gracias
Very handy and easy to store. Thanks for sharing.
DiResta-
Can you make a video on how to test a blade by shaving your arm hair? I've always wanted to learn how, and you do it all the time.
+Eli Kia All you have to do is find the right angle. Assuming the blade is sharp enough.
And don't run the blade across your arm in a slicing motion, use a pushing/scraping type movement. When done properly its hard to cut yourself no matter how sharp the knife.
Those stack really nicely.
I sawhorses when I went to the stable
Dad I told you to stop putting your puns on the internet!
kefkaZZZ " a closed mouth , gathers no feet "
+holnrew Had I gone, I miter saw some, too.
I did go and i sawzall the horses.
"Ye-haw," said the blind Stable Carpenter when he picked up his level and Saw Horses.
awesome looking and sturdy
Definitely a little different take on the scrap 2x4 and plywood saw horses our grandpappies made. I like them.
I definitely could see a lot of uses for those. Good idea.
I love the way you work
I'm tottally in love for all videos

i love the sawhorse brackets.. there strong and you put 2x4's into them and there cheap and its 5minutes
.great video Jimmy. I'm a big fan.
Jimmy, great videos here and on your channel. Entertaining and informative.
About that bag you keep screws/nails in, homemade? Thanks.
Great design for saw horses. Looks like they could hold a good bit of weight.
Hey Jimmy.
Heads up- you got an annotation box in the middle of the screen, its without a description or link.
Cheers. tsc
why did you flip the board @ 1:46 around to cut from the other side?
It is his shop and he can do anything he wants.
Hey Jimmy, I have an Idea for you. I am thinking about building my own socket organizer for my tool box. Ever done that?
Brilliant design for the stackability
HOW DO U FIGURE OUT YOUR CUTS? DO U SEE/VISUALIZE THEM AHEAD OF TIME OR DO U WRITE ALL THE STEPS DOWN? I'VE OFTEN WONDERED HOW YOU FIGURE OUT WHAT FINISH OR COLOR SCHEME U R GONNA USE.
I'm sure you've answered this before, but why do you tilt the board up on the chop saw even with small boards?
on the 2x4s he was doing it to make them easier to grab/faster production
great vid, are all the saw horses the same size?
I was walking in to lowes 3 days ago and just by chance walked past their saw horses very much like these. The fact I even saw them was Luck but they were $19.98 each. But you built 8 what was your cost I'm betting less then $40.
I made 10 at about 30/40. The 2x4 from the street and the scraps around he shop. Needed them smaller then I could buy. Tx u
Neat.
It's been several years now, how have these held up in your shop?
Also what amount of weight do you feel they'll hold comfortably?
The story on Makezine.com is mission at the listed url.
Genius... i'm definitely building myself a few of these...
Hi jimmy ,
It would be possible to have plans of these sawhorses
Thank you
I'm in love with sawhorses. I'm in love with them, they're so beautiful and cute, I'm in love with sawhorses.
not my sawhorses not my problem
at what angle did you cut the top 2x4 boards
nice and light!
Lookin' good Yimmy!
Now can you show us how to make sawponeys?
They stack great Thank you
A master of branding.
*Building
I'm really sorry to ask, but what's your surname again? I think you need to express it more in your products and videos.
Holy fuck I just noticed, must be damn proud of his work.
It's common practice to have you name on your tools and equipment when you work in a shop so there aren't any mix ups, It's probably just something he's gotten used to doing.
***** ah

Fantastic stuff. Making it look easy. That was a heavy duty band saw you featured at the end of the video. New Toy?
Thank you brother. Yes bandsaw recent acquisition
Do you have the plans for this build???
That's some simple yet elegant shit, right there.
What do you like about the jet over your rikon 10"?
Jet came in a package deal bunch of stuff, still never used it.. Ricon is okay but ALL power tools turned kinda shitty in late 70's, i often look for used equipment .. larger stuff on bases etc..
And thus, my day is made. As always, Direstacular.
Build to use - I like it.
i don't even need these but i have all the tools and the wood, they look so cool i think i'll make some
Neat you need to make plans available for these. To get the correct angles.
1 in 4 both ways works great.
There's no way that I could ever work as fast as the guy in this video
I do not see how these are stackable unless each sawhorse is slightly narrower than the one on top of it. The end braces would not allow them to stack if they are identical in size.
You would have to keep track of which sawhorse is in use and which ones can be stacked. While the design is simple, the application is over complicated.
??? The legs splay out in two directions, so the end caps aren't in the way at all. Each sawhorse is identical to the others and they stack just fine.
Jimmy DiResta: Eyeballs angles... and they all work out!
he didn't eyeball them. there was a mark on the saw table.
what about a tiny home echale coco como las de tx pero faciles de hacer
at what angle is he cutting the 2/4 ?
ionel banu looks like about 6-7 degrees off 90 board laying flat. Then a right angle to that
thats awesome mate
cool stuff
COOL! TWO IN ONE DAY AWESOME!

John Smith That works. I never though of taking the dash out of saw-horses.

Wonders why 2 people would dislike this video? Maybe they feel it is putting sawhorse manufactures out of work. lol
Great video as always Jimmy.
Jimmy, the Makezine link is dead.
makezine.com/video/diresta-sawhorses/
he accidentally added an extra "-"
Jimmy is The Master. The Master doesn't make mistakes! It has to be Makezine's fault!

Wow, this guy works really fast. ;)
I wonder what his last name is...
***** firt name Jimmy!! what are you watching?? LOL!
IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME!
I think it's an advert for 'Paul harvey's de-rest-a da story.'
Is it me or did you always wear a mask for cutting wood?
I'm a new subscriber to your videos, but I'm guessing you've had one or two things just walk off and disappear.
+1 on solid wood legs/-1 on plywood
yer' quite efficient thar.

Thank you , i agree i need to be a little safer.. just too many years of bad habits.
I cringe when seeing guard, no splitter or riving knife being used in a table saw.
I would say that the sawhorse will break if you sit on it...
Based on 6:07, I'll take that action. Look again at the surface area the glue covers, add in the screws, the end caps, and the pin nails. I'll bet that they can hold 300 lbs each without collapsing.
4:10 Said like russian word "Horosho" (Good) :))))
Not complete until it's branded..
why u put diresta on every thing lol
and why id ur damm name on every shit
