I just bought a 2023 Mercedes Benz GLE 450. It truly defines what a luxury SUV should look like. I hope that its reliability is like my Toyota that easily made 300K with no problems and with only basic oil changes and regular maintenance.
My Mitsubishi Outlander has mileage of 230,000 km and Nissan Livina has done 217,000 km. can’t expect any European brand to reach this with major replacements
Reliable German card and axoymoron, go hand in hand. I own 2000 and older Mercedes that are built like a tank. I sold my late S class because transmission failed less than $50k and cost $12k to repair with a momma and papa shop
Yeah I've had a couple new C-Class sedans in the last 10 years, great cars, excellent fuel economy, unbreakable warranty, reasonable price (cheaper than a lot of South Korean cars), and actually, service pricing about $100 more for service over the South Korean brands and cheaper than a lot of Toyota service.
Define fortune? From the numbers I have seen it may cost a little over 40 dollars a month on average to drive a vehicle that is NOT boring. We was Honda/Toyota people for most of my life until 3 years ago. I went wild and bought a Porsche. Hahaha The only thing I regret is not buying a Porsche decades ago!! I Love it!! It has been bullet proof with the only problem was a loose cable in the drivers side rear door. I love to drive this beauty! It's quick and fast as a bat outta hell. I could never go back to drive boring cars!
German vehicles use junk plastic that will deteriorate as early as 70k miles but definitely by 130k that will leave you spending thousands on repairs at the dealership. Japanese vehicles use quality plastics that aren’t recycled like the Germans use. It’s a shame because German vehicles are great to drive but just make sure if you are planning on keeping it to 200k like most any Japanese vehicle will easily make it to, just make sure you have half the price you spent on it at least to maintain it to that mileage. Otherwise just keep it till the warranty ends and dump it or put a premium extended warranty on it. Ask me how I know!
VW Tiguan is not reliable at all. I have a 2022 and it has an oil consumption issue since before my first oil change. It consumes about a quart of oil before every oil change. They changed the seals, and eventually, the head gasket by 30K miles under warranty. I would not purchase one again.
Define reliability. What is the cost of ownership? Are the manufacturers well disposed towards the owners when serious problems come up. VW's reputation is questionable - Diesel Gate, current issues w.r.t. customers' data protection. Mercedes is plagued by electrical problems / quality issues. All of the above are deal breakers when deciding to buy an expensive SUV. I would stay away from most of the vehicles on your list. Advanced technology does not equal reliability.
Truly wise talk! Thank you for sharing this wisdom because a lot of people don’t understand and see it that way! I live here in Europe and the only German car I would consider buying is Porsche or 2019 BMW/Audi Q5 2019! The rest questionable.happy new year to you anyway

it seems like you keep showing the older and newer generations of the X3 together. Which is it?
Gle 350
The Germans must have paid a lot to have this video produced and released.
Cars from Japan are the best
Always Mercedes…
Seriously.,, none of these will make it to 200k miles. With out a fortune to maintain. Save for maybe the Mercedes. Maybe?

Who keeps a car anywhere near to half that mileage. So pointless comment!
😊
