Dark Souls 2 is my favourite Dark Souls and probably just a favourite Soulsborne in general, Demon's Souls is another favourite, though i've realized i like Dark Souls 2 even more, i guess because both let me manipulate the Difficulty as i see fit, with Company of Champions, Bonfire Ascetics, World Tendency in Demon's Souls' case, there's like a million other reason but i'd be writing all day let's just say i take my time slowly and explore everything so Dark Souls 2 is perfect. And yes don't get me wrong i love Dark Souls 1 as well but its my least favourite and lack of teleporting for a guy who likes to explore everything drives me insane, doesn't help the game is the easiest one by miles, but it does make it ideal when you wanna have an easier time going through with a New Build, if only i didn't spend half the time running through same areas *sigh*, even once you gain access to teleporting its not even every Bonfire...
I agree! I think if you are someone who likes taking your time to find everything then the slower pace of Ds2 is preferred. Demon's Souls World Tendency confused me so I don't think I used it to its fullest extent. I'll have to look into it more before I play it again
Soul memory was a poor fix for the invasion problem. The ring that prevents soul collection is in The Lost Bastille, so it's pretty early in the game Another problem, soul memory includes souls not spent on making your character better ( consumables, dying without retiving your souls, old gear you improved and aren't using anymore) This means a new player who is bad enough at game can move up soul memory tiers without getting stronger DS3 improved on soul memory by including weapon level in your matchmaking formula. ( Which is overall better at getting players to be at similar power levels)
Ah I see how you could move up tiers quickly as a newer player that would be rough. I didn't know that about DS 3 matchmaking this is good information thank you!
They had the same feature in demons souls and the demons souls remake. I agree I don’t really like it since you’re basically forced to wear a ring for the entire game but still it’s a minor feature it’s not like all the games don’t have one annoying mechanic you’d wish were just deleted
@Goober504 I forgot about that! That is annoying but I don't remember ever being out of effigies on this playthrough. Definitely when I first played it many years ago, I can remember getting stuck on bosses without having full health. I actually didn't know how restore humanity for awhile so it was real rough haha
Honesly the problem is that playing with shields/bows/summons is just boring and way too easy. Game made around that feels like oblivion or skyrim or lowkey diablo, like you are just mindlessly grinding through enemies without real gameplay. Dodges and melee is just more fun and game trying to push you away from that if you are not doing dex build sucks
@QWERTY-qh9po I'm thinking of doing a video on why since there actually weren't many out there with criticisms. But I'd say the main reason is farming for resources just to use the parry mechanic that is a big part of the combat. There's other reasons but ya that took away from it alot for me. The Lore was sick tho cant complain!
I don't get why there is hate for dark souls 2. The soundtrack is best in series and they experimented with many new mechanics, many of which was carried on through the series.
I'm in favor of Adaptability. Its a realistic way of showing that the more adaptable you are the better you are at dodging.
Exactly!

Soul memory is great, After 1 million you can skip the 4 lord souls.
oh I forgot about that good point!
The health bar thing man. Unforgivable. It goes against the point of the game

Oh, you mean that feature that exists since Demon's Souls, and exists in Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring? 🫵😹
@@ICEM4N6 Demon's Souls it is half or full not chip health. Where is it in Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring?

@@Christopher-ro1dlit does exist in dark souls 3, when you die you lose embered form and 30% HP.

Yeah I don't think Ds 2 caters towards strength build with all the enemies. That makes sense
I think it’s the best one of the trilogy
Nice to see you here Jellyjman.
Why you make so many videos
It's fun and most are shorts so they don't take too long
@@zazatore8590 why make dark souls

I agree I wish more had been carried over especially the halberd backstab animation! It was my favorite in ds 2
