Connecting the Dark Souls Universe and Bloodborne
My thoughts on how events in DS 3 could lead into the world of Bloodborne. Legally unconnectable but theoretically very possible. Forgot to mention in the video but comment any theories that make sense to you also!

Good video but you missed the obvious connections between Dark Souls and The Adventures of Cookies and Cream
This is pretty lazy content theft lol
I didnt watch a video on this connection. if someone else came to a similar conclusion thats great. watch both or one or none
"if you don't know what demons souls is...." THEN GTFO 😉
haha then they should learn!
nice video
Appreciate it!
I have played Bloodborne a half a dozen times with different builds and can say I never parry. if its a mechanic you don't like then you don't have to use it, which means you're not using any bullets. Experimenting with builds is also what encourages you to use different weapons. Simon's Bow Blade is a BT weapon that wrecks the whole game so that build has no incentive to use the Saw Cleaver at all. Even for a strength build I have more fun with the Whirligig Saw. Sounds like you gave it fair chance though.
I think I actually really liked the parry mechanic so I always wanted to use it and then when I ran out of bullets I was frustrated I couldn't use it haha I get what you are saying though!
I think we moved along similar lines, here, though I beg to differ on a few details; Firstly, I don't believe Ocelot survived to have children. If he ever managed to fully exist, that is. His father " popped" him pretty early, if you catch my drift. And, more importantly, I think the Ashen One himself is who you're looking for. "Great chalices unlock deeper reaches of the labyrinth. Pthumeru Ihyll was the title of both the Phumerian monarch and its capital. This reveals that while early Pthumerians were mere humble guardians of the slumbering Great Ones, their descendants felt entitled to name themselves a leader." Great Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice. This is important; the Pthumerians didn't simply " find" the Great Ones; they were originally a race entirely dedicated to their service, and that of Oedon. The fact they are in a tomb also answers the next question; Where did the Ashen One go? Answer: they transcended the need for a corporeal form. Whatever was left of it is likely at the unknown bottom of the Chalice Dungeons, somewhere beneath all other layers. The Beast plague is much simpler, given what we see in Irithyll; Sulyvahn's Beasts are the obvious precursor to beasts of today, and they are the result of the power of the Dark. Since Light and Dark are no longer distinguishable in the world created by the Ashen One, it is quite natural that manifestations of both coexist and thrive( hence why beasts from Loran can use fire magic). More importantly, the very first reference to Bloodborne in it's development comes from Marvelous Chester in Dark Souls 1, where he was meant to tease it, back when it was called " Demon Souls 2". Indeed, his mask referenced the Fat Officials. In other words, a complete timeline goes like this; After ending the old world, the Ashen One creates a new world where Dark and Light no longer fight, and men are bid to use the power of Souls for good. However, on the second day, he is disappointed by the terrible works of Man, who uses the power of Souls to hurt his fellow, and thus creates the Old One and the Northern Regalia; a weapon meant for if someone noble enough in the human race could defeat it and prove him wrong. After Demon Souls, the Slayer Of Demons, becoming the new Monumental after defeating the Old One, limits the presence of the Soul in the world as the Monumentals once did between the Old One being sealed and reawakened the first time, attempting to prevent the Old One and those like it from breaking the nature of reality. Thus, men came to require conduits to interact with souls, such as Blood, and thus, souls came to be known as " Blood Echoes" , and blood it's most sacred conduit.
@alyseleem2692 I Like these Ideas! As for Ocelot's Survival, I assume the "pop" moment you mention is when Oceiros slams "him" down after enough damage is dealt by the player. I felt that was more symbolic that his link to the physical world was cut, and he was finally ascended. The ashen one elevating beyond a corporeal form is an interesting idea I didn't consider Also, I wouldn't say the Great Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice description solidifies the Pthumerians as entirely made as servants from the start. The description leaves room for the *first* pthumerians to "simply find" the old ones, and then this *early* generation become the guardians. That's how I read it atleast. As for the rest of the points, they follow soundly from a world where the Ashen One is ascended and created a world where light and dark are indistinguishable. It's good stuff; thank you for sharing!
@@zazatore8590 Thanks!
Miyazaki said no souls game are connected
Bummer
brother used the rifle spear, no wonder he didnt enjoy blood borne as much 😭
I actually liked it haha but yeah probably not the most ideal
Patches is in it. That basically confirms it, he's not a Patches _like_ character-- it's literally the same Patches, same voice with all the same traits and he survives to the very end and even winds up in Elden Ring.
I forgot Patches! good call and I finally am playing elden ring and found him haha
Lmao its true patches confirms the shared universe
Brother actually had a vision.

@@Antbrat4.0 Elden Ring 2025 Standalone
No connection, Bloodborne is the sequel to Demon Souls.
im interested elaborate
Elden ring to dark souls?
I saw someone on reddit saying age of stars could lead to bb
I finally started Elden Ring! Once I finish, I plan to deep dive the lore and make this connection haha
Elden ring dung eater ending -> souls don't return to the erd tree -> King Allant summons the elden beast (or the erdtree, judging by tree-like nature of the old one), withered and desperate from the lack of souls -> all souls are consumed -> Maybe shabriri burns it after that idk -> dark souls (I don't know shit about elden ring lore btw so im probably wrong)
I just started playing elden ring so sounds good to me so far haha!
I like the idea of the First Flame essentially being the Demon's Souls protagonist's dropped souls at their bloodstain.
Its a cool image!
dude youre just blankly watching some guys video and didnt even link the video anywhere. you made the title seem like you were the one who made the video. these tactics died in fucking 2017 when leafy made fun of it
didnt watch any video like this nor do i know who that is. people can come to the same conclusions
Funny, wile I was finishing Knights Honor yesterday in DS1 I thought this very question to myself. Whilst in the cave from Darkroot to Valley of Drakes. Coincidentally, here's your upload. We could flip this theory on it's head. Could the protagonist of DS3 have become the old one? Making Darksouls a prequel trilogy to Demon souls.
Wild thought i like it!

Keep up the good work bro :) it will be worth it
much appreciated! I'll keep trudging along!
Dark sign and dark soul are not the same. All humans have a dark soul. Only undead humans have the dark sign.
Correct on the first two but I argue against the third. If you have an explanation for how some humans would get the dark sign and others don't I'd love top hear it!
He's an elden ring boss in dark souls
You're right, he is, this was the foreshadowing of what Elden Ring would be like.
I like the topic but this would've been a lot better if you used a script. It's hard to follow
I understand that's fair. I did several takes for this and the closer I stuck to a script I felt the less interest/enthusiasm went into my words. I'm working to find a good balance
Really Interesting takes in this video. you've got yourself a new sub
Much appreciated! I had a lot of fun with the video im glad you liked it
Good speculations! I hope you keep putting out content! Also... I HEARD THE KITTY! (Don't feel bad, animals do their own thing)
He's part of the team! He had some solid points to make haha
@zazatore8590 oh yeah! His analysis on catalytics was vital to the video.
Great Video Keep up the work
Thanks so much! Working on getting another video out
@zazatore8590 looking forward to watching it
All humans have dark souls because it can be split infinitely, and they also have the curse of limited life spans and our humanity brining away. When the age of fire dims more and more of these humans turn immortal and undead. Gwyn created the religion of way of the white where priests create bonfires for people to offer humanity sprites (segments of the dark soul). Bonfires are direct portals to the first flame, this they feed the flame more. In contrast, the light souls start powerful, but they are finite. They can empower others only by splitting their souls which is why there are few gods. Serpents seem to be creatures of dark who want to spread darkness, which is why they are aligned with humanity, who have the spreading dark soul. They wish to plunge the world into darkness by expunging the first flame and replacing everything with monsters powered by dark souls. Kaathe neglects to say that without light it would just be monsters like Oolacile or dark wraiths.
Fair points!
@@zazatore8590 I may have made some minor errors. I think they were going for a yin-yang thing with humans as they are made of both light and dark souls. Creatures with too much dark turn into monsters like Manus or in Oolacile.
I really love Bloodborne but I agree, the resource management really sucks. A game like Bloodborne but with the Estus system for blood vials and bullets, along with Dark Souls 3 tier boss design, would be the perfect FromSoft game.
Damn, saying the catacombs in dark souls 1 is a bad area is such a bad take. I skimmed thru most the video after you said that tbh but didn't see you talk about world design, just specific locations, which is a shame cause its such a huge part of the worldbuilding and sense of immersion in these games.
I love dark 3
its shite
Ds3 is the worst souls game with the most spammy combat, every boss is kinda the same equating to roll 1-3 attacks then punish making the gameplay repetitive and predictable.
ds3 feels like a game without soul. its made because "why not make 3rd game"
Your opinion. Mine and many others its the best dark souls experience out of the original 3
Except it calls back to basically everything from the other 2 games and concludes itself afterwards.
Good shit
Thanks!
You forgot a pretty important word in the title 🥲
LMAO AHAHAHAHAHAHHAA
DS3 is definitely the best of the series, the environments is something no one ever talks about but from Abyss Watchers on the environments are top tier.
Man i loooved dark souls 1, it was phenomenal
Curse build up, certain rouges carry the enchantment
Nice vid! Title confused me a bit cause I thought this was gonna be about the first game only, only to then understand that is was franchise wide. Couple of things (nothing major but for future ref): -The DS3 enemies are called Puss of Man, not Man of Puss. It's weird, I know. -In DS1, you can skip a good chunk of Blightown thanks to the key you can chose as your gift at the start of the game, via the shortcut in the Valley of the Drakes. I do believe that, with that in mind, Lost Izalith and the Catacombs/Tomb of the Giants take the cake, with the Crystal Cave and Great Hollow as dishonorable mentions. -DS2 has two versions, base game and Scholar of the First Sin. The latter changes some of the base game areas drastically. I am not one of those that thinks Scholar is terrible but even I cannot defend the clown car that is Old Iron Keep. -I do very much like Crown of the Sunken King DLC, but that just might be cause it very much feels like a King's Field area as opposed to a Dark Souls area, gimmicks and all. Also agreed with ti being the better of the three DLC areas (tho Frozen Eleyum Loyce is a fantastic set piece imo). -Maybe I didn't hear it properly, was studying while listening, but I am shocked there wasn't a mention of Shrine of Amana as like, one of the worst areas in the franchise. Even as someone that took it's sweet time sniping everyone, that place is still ass.
All good points! I called Shrine of Amana something else I think i coupled it together with Tseldora. I was not as clear as I could have been I'm still getting the hang of these types of videos. And yes! the title was giving me alot of trouble haha because it is a video trying to support DS 3 but then after I made it I realized I talked alot about the series in general. I was stumped for quite a bit on the upload page where it asks me for a title haha guess i didn't quite nail it. I appreciate the feed back!
Love the vid man, play elden ring asap!
Should be getting it this week I hope!
Cause gamers dont look up
Its a CHAIR, obviously no one will check chair on the wall, dark souls!
Its the only chair! Haha
Its the Cucking Chair in DS3!

Lmao you got the old ladys chair
This must become so tiresomeXD
Beat duo fight in fromsoft history. The different phases each can be in with poison and rage work really well and the second phase is just phenomenal.
I didn’t even know the second phase moveset depended on which one you defeat first. It adds alot of variety!
I mean hes just got three healthbars on his wrists instead of one big one. Not a terrible gimmick.
But I'd Rather Fight Him than some shiny bracelets and skele mobs but not the worst
@@zazatore8590 my guy I'm gonna blow your mind You'd be hitting the wrists regardless. It's like when you break one arm you just gotta move to the other
You’re over leveled
Ik my superior skill makes it look that way
Whereas Londo comes from the word "Rondo" meaning Round (referring to the Eclipse and the Darksign), Londor actually comes from Lande d'Or meaning Golden Land, which is why the Pale Shade invades near the Golden Scroll in Farron and why Anri's pilgrim drops the golden sorcery Chameleon.
I never knew this thanks for sharing!
Nice video I know these aren’t part of the ds trilogy, but I think Bloodborne and Sekiro have the best stories. Because they deviate from the dark souls lore of the protagonist being a nobody, they can have stories more focused on the character, which is most prevalent in Sekiro, being the shinobi of a divine child. I am curious to see your other reasons!
dark souls 3 is better then bloodborne in almost every way besides areas and lore
@@shortsamurai1213 I was talking abt lore, not overall, but I havent played ds3 so I don’t know how good the gameplay is
I havent tried sekiro yet but it sounds interesting and I will be getting the next video out soon! @mrrossi4
