George turned up at one of Deep Purple reunion gigs back in '84. He was good friends with Jon Lord and jammed with the band on Lucille at the end of the show.
I wish he’d given up smoking. Enjoying his autobiography on Audible. Recommended by Mark Lewisohn, the epic Beatles historian of TUNED IN. Thank you for sharing this.
I remember your show Greg and it was a top notch show to boot. I met Sir George Martin at his book launch many years later in Sydney and was in awe just as you were of George Harrison. Both now sadly passed.
George had ask to not to be ask him for autographs that day , he said he would be happy to meet the fans that bought his book . There were over 100 fans including most of Australia legends Ross wills Glen a Baker and Roger Dilernia the authors of The Beatles Downunder here that were there that day respect his wishes . George was extremely nervous that day . You were very arrogant and selfish to do that while the cameras were on him ,
Roger, you have no idea. I met George again a year later and he had no problem with my doing what I did. In fact he greeted me with “here’s the guy with the jewelry” and I then gave him and Phil Everly sterling silver Grand Prix Chequers flag pins. They were chuffed. Your comment reeks of a bit jealousy. Sure it was a bit arrogant but I was the host of a tv show at the time. Given the chance was I not going to get something I could use. Also I never asked for an autograph, respecting his wishes.
@@gfingersc I agree it was arrogant of you to push into his press conference, I’m not sure what tv show you were working on but , I have never seen you on tv here in Australia.
What a wonderful man.
George is an angel 😇
I loved The Beatles sense of humor. Something all 4 members had. And they were actually funny!
Wow!! Love George!! He was truly a good looking guy who was just plain down to earth!! I truly miss him! 💙🕉
The greatest looking man to ever exist in this universe.
Who ever gave thumbs down is something wrong with that person for real......
Maybe they are a rolling stones fan
