+WayBackMachine_One apparently George said in one interview 'Something' was about Krisna - so who knows. He always said he was inspired by Ray Charles when writing it
+WayBackMachine_One I THINK George was married to Olivia at the time he said it. Could he have been trying to avoid trouble at home when he said it? I wonder. Maybe she even was sitting right there at the time. My memory fails me.
+srunequester66 actually George said the song was inspired by Ray Charles on several occasions over the years in different interviews.. and Olivia knew that George had written several songs for her. Also when George did the 'Dark Horse' tour in 1974 he made the lyrics about Olivia (there are several bootlegs of this version here on youtube). having written all this Pattie must have been part of the inspiration for Something
"Well no, I didn't [write it about her]. I just wrote it, and then somebody put together a video. And what they did was they went out and got some footage of me and Pattie, Paul and Linda, Ringo and Maureen, it was at that time, and John and Yoko and they just made up a little video to go with it. So then, everybody presumed I wrote it about Pattie, but actually, when I wrote it, I was thinking of Ray Charles." - George Harrison
Can you tell me, when he said that? Because in 1974, in his dark cocaine years, when Pattie left him, he sometimes sang live: "Something in the way she moved, I have to find another lover - I did it." and so on...
Pattie played in "A Hard Day's Night". She had only one word in the script..."Prisoners"!!?? She was one lucky girl who played with The Beatles !!!! She was pretty then, and gorgeous today. George we love you, we miss you😢 Long Live The Beatles!!!! Peace and Love ☮️❤️
George lived along the lane from us in Liverpool when they first got famous ,He lived with his parents,my sister who’s 5 years older than me she was wearing a lovely coat her hair done ,l was about 13 still in school uniform,We had been to the shop for some eggs ,we decided to go along to his house to see if we could see him,She made me knock on the door she stood at the end of the path,l knocked his brother came out,l asked if George was in ,he went in and George came to the door,l asked for his autograph,he gave it all the while looking at my sister,She was thrilled and nearly dropped the eggs,We went back later on he was packing his gear in his car ,We all stood looking at him he must of been so self conscious ,When he was 21 l went to his house his Mother was lovely she let us in to see all his birthday presents from all around the world .Teddy bears scarves slippers cards etc,My Mum walked past their house one day ,his father was outside gardening ,he started talking to her ,my Mum told him l had an American penfriend who was mad on the Beatles ,he gave her a plant and some dirt in a bag to send to her,By the time l sent it it was a dead stick but my penfriend was thrilled haha
I understand from an interview of James Taylor by Mark Maron that James and Peter Gordon had met in London. Peter took James to audition for Paul and George in pursuit of a contract with the Apple label. (James recalled that he and Peter walked into the Abbey Rd studio, and Peter called out, “Are there any Beatles here?” Fortunately, there were). One of James’ audition numbers was his “Something “ that began with the same line as George’s later version. The former like titled songs made James’ Apple label album. Maron asked Taylor what he thought of George’s borrowing the line, to which he replied that it was fine as lines and instrumentation got borrowed frequently. He remained appropriately appreciative.
So underrated George Harrison all things must pass & living in a material world ( masterpieces) and very relevant to what’s going on now rip great soul
Patti Boyd inspired two of the best songs ever written. Something-Harrison; Layla-Clapton. This woman's hair is so so so long! Of course, Something is better.
Tho George was in a rough spot and Pattie went on with Clapton, they had a great time together and separated in peace. George was sleeping with Ringo’s wife and Clapton wasn’t the best person, Pattie deserved much better. In the end it was good. Here are always tough spots in people’s lives. We underestimate that and turn it into drama, when rly we need to take a step back and let life take us the way it should. In the end it was good. Ringo forgave George, Pattie was happy, George and Clapton were close with each other and Pattie. They let life take them where they should be and that worked.

Patti’s sister, Jennifer, also had a song named after her : Donovan’s “Jennifer Juniper”.
love the Ronnie wood show!!
Still gorgeus after all these years. A lovely smilng lady
Funny. I had seen George say he didn't really write the song for her?
He was "musically" inspired by Ray Charles, imagining him singing it, but the words are definitively for Pattie.
She's a fucking slag end off
"Well no, I didn't [write it about her]. I just wrote it, and then somebody put together a video. And what they did was they went out and got some footage of me and Pattie, Paul and Linda, Ringo and Maureen, it was at that time, and John and Yoko and they just made up a little video to go with it. So then, everybody presumed I wrote it about Pattie, but actually, when I wrote it, I was thinking of Ray Charles."
- George Harrison
Can you tell me, when he said that? Because in 1974, in his dark cocaine years, when Pattie left him, he sometimes sang live: "Something in the way she moved, I have to find another lover - I did it." and so on...
He said it in 1996 in an interview with Paul Cashmere. Published in a magazine called "Undercover".
Blinki18284 this is in 'I, me, mine' the book George wrote in 1979.
I wonder how many guys she had!!!
He was thinking of Ray Charles..LOL typical muscian. The music is always the true wife.I know of what I speak.
I can see what Clapton was on about. Beautiful woman. Speaks well too.
: "All love is part of a universal love. When you love a woman, it's the God in her that you see". George Harrison x
Did not know Ronnie had his own TH-cam channel? This is a badass TH-cam channel!
George and Pattie was married from 1966 until 1976.George married Olivia in 1978.
Planet Ronnie! What a gentleman! Love 'im.
She's still lovely. I always love the way she speaks so soft and graceful and I love her photography.

It then will fade
So does a youth.
So does the fairest maid.
(Romeo and Juliet)
Yep
MEGA THANKS...IT CAME TO MIND....
wish this interview were longer......
Clapton was her biggest regret. He was her downfall. And she always loved George. Her face lights up at the sound of his name.
So underrated George Harrison all things must pass & living in a material world ( masterpieces) and very relevant to what’s going on now rip great soul
Patti Boyd inspired two of the best songs ever written. Something-Harrison; Layla-Clapton. This woman's hair is so so so long! Of course, Something is better.
...and Wonderful Tonight by EC..don’t forget that one.
@@davidwright9318 i did not forget that it's just that WT is not as great as S and L...
@@theloniouscoltrane3778 nope, that's just your perspective ....WT, is a phenomenal 👌, song.....
Bell Bottom Blues too
PATTI TALKS BEAUTIFUL, LOOKS BEAUTIFUL, I WISHED I'D MET HER BEFORE GEORGE MAY GOD BLESS HIM
Patty Boyd stole the show in "Hard Days Night".
Not really.
"Prisoners?"
Pretty- that’s about it.
Omg her laugh I love her so much
Say more Pattie, say more!. We really love you.
That comment made my entire week.
thank you for that insightful, intelligent and eye opening comment.
What a beauty. My goodness.
Brilliant times. I remember it well
One of my favorite Beatle tunes... I have many! Lol
Literally so jealous of pattie! I'm literally in love with George!!
interview is good. comments are worthless as usual
great program!
Pattie can still get it.
The feeling of attraction/ LOVE amazing at any age timeless
What a beautiful, intelligent and honest woman. I love her pictures also!
She seems like such a graceful lady. Olivia does too. Two very beautiful, smart, women.
Yeah, George chose well both times. I'm happy Pattie and George were able to be friends in the end, too.
So awesome. I remember seeing "Hard Day's Night" in LA when I was 13 that summer '64. And Pattie stole the show. I fell in love at first sight. What a doll.
They got the lighting correct, she still looks pretty! I suppose it wouldn't be good to show Layla in a bad light, no matter what her age is.
What a classy interview.
George harrison wrote something and Frank sinatra said it was the greatest love song ever written. An he wasn't wrong it was my mum and dads song.
Frank loved that song
Kind of a gooey, sappy song actually. Lite-FM.
