  • Rory Sutherland is one of the world’s leading consumer behaviour experts, the Vice Chairman of Ogilvy Advertising and an author.
The advertising industry creates a unique intersection between psychology and creativity. By looking at what works in the world of ad campaigns, we can learn even more about the human mind and Rory might have the best insight on the planet for this.
Expect to learn what dating apps can learn about advertising from property websites, why women actually wear engagement rings, Rory’s thoughts on Jordan Peterson, how you can become more creative every day, what Rory thinks of Twitter changing their name to X, how hotel rooms have residual sexism baked into the design, why rational people ruin creativity and much more...

Rory is clearly a very intelligent guy but I’ve actually had to turn the podcast off with 45 minutes left to go. He won’t even let Chris finish a question that he’s posing and completely cuts him off each time. I’m sure it’s not intentional and purely down to enthusiasm but have some self awareness in a 2 way conversation. Shame it kinda ruined this podcast episode

Had been smoking for 20 years, and saw this guy on the show.
Chris started talking to him about vaping. Rory said it is a much better way to get nicotine on a variety of levels.
I tried it out because of his glowing review.

Same, I’m now using nicotine pouches to quit vaping. Tried patches and gum but didn’t do it for me. Now I’m steadily lowering the amount of pouches by spacing out the time between use. Used to be 1 hour now it’s 4. I can feel the improvement in my lungs already and it’s only been 2 weeks

I recommend it to every smoker I know.

I have never seen this show, but I'll say that chris seemed super interested and was a good interviewer, he let his guest speak. In regards to the USA and Canada, i am not sure everyone wants to live in suburbia and spend hours in cars, they just can't all afford to move to NY, SF or Boston, etc or even Vancouver, Toronto etc. Some do, others will never trade a big city with transportation for an isolated car status culture. In NY status is about what you do, not your job nor your car, but what you do as fulltime passion which may or may not be what pays the bills.

It's quite unfortunate that I've never heard of Rory. This episode was absolutely amazing. And and so so much fun!!! He is not only knowledgeable, but has an incredible sense of humour. 🧐🧐🧡🧡 I'll be researching more about him for sure!!🧐🧐

Rory is an original thinker - merges persuasion, behavioral econ, open minded to arrive at interesting and original observations - and takes himself not too seriously, so fun to watch and learn.

I have seen Rory a while ago on a podcast. Very entertaining and at the same time highly informed. Loved the energy of this interview. ❤

How nice of Rory to have Chris on his show.

Even Chris has no chance against the ramblings of this man. 🤣The tangents are rife with gold though. Even I could host a fabulous podcast episode with Rory - just give the man a mic and sit back!

I liked when he would go off topic and just riff- but you seemed to want him to stay very focused but brillliant people often see connections in things and share them. So bright my brain was electrified following him! OMG HIS GEMS...one of them on Austin "I can get great coffee by people with wonderful body art. But in afternoon I can drive to the desert and fire machine guns at oil drums..."

This is said despite liking what Rory has to say. Boundaries matter! 💪👍👍❤️❤️❤️

It's Chris laughing like a mischievous schoolboy at Rory talking about boners for me.
Rory was as delightful as ever. At this point I'm convinced he has an obscure story for every conceivable topic. His enthusiasm is absolutely contagious. 🩵
...Would also love to hear him explain to his wife why its a good thing he compares her to a Japanese toilet. 😂
